If you’re serious, you need to read post #292. If you’re being a smart ass, well, big surprise…
Funny thing happened here tonight. After **FCD ** came home and was getting out of his car (slowly - he hurt his back) I was standing in the kitchen holding the door to the garage open. Miss Brandy bolted between my legs and charged into the garage. Fortunately, the doors to the outside were closed. I watched her go to the far side of the garage and run behind my van. **FCD ** was worried how we’d get her back in the house. I picked up the food dish rather noisily, and she charged back in - cracked us both up!
Moral of the story: Be really careful to keep the cat in the house.
Why don’t one of you live near me?? I need someone to check in on Miss Brandy when we go to FL over Christmas. I was hoping there’d be a pet-sitting service in this county, but I can’t find one.
I wish we lived closer, too, FCM. I need someone to check on Miss Emily while we’re out west, and I hate to pay a petsitter $20 just to stop by and empty a can of cat food every couple of days and keep the kibble bowl full. If you were closer, we could trade off; but I think driving back and forth might be a bit much even for our revered felines.
I think I’m going to bribe my neighbor-across-the-street Mae’s granddaughter to do it (with her grandma’s supervision, obviously, since she’s about 7 years old). She can earn her first Real Money. Do you have a nice neighbor who’d do it for you?
Unfortunately, I haven’t met any neighbors with kids - just adults in the immediate vicinity. I suppose I could sit outside when the school bus stops and grab a kid???
Well, adult humans work okay, too. When we lived in Silver Spring, we traded with our next-door neighbors. (Although we did send SrA Tiger, then just Young, in our stead when it came to box cleaning. )
We used to use a dog-sitter for occasional days for the canines, to come by and feed/walk them. But they’ve learned to hold it for nine hours now – they were spoiled by a dog door for most of their lives; we all miss it, believe me! – so we don’t need to use his services any more. We just board 'em at the kennel when we go out of town; they come home so happily exhausted that they collapse for two or three days. The revered feline, however, does not like to leave HER home, thank you very much. If it’s just 48 hours, we don’t worry about it; but for a week, she needs checking on, obviously.
Would someone please tell me to at least pretend to try to get a little more work done today? My efforts have been minimal, at best. The Dope is far more interesting that this stupid deposition.
So, ummm… FCM volunteered for Monday? Is that what y’all are sayin’? Ok then.
Ok, Tigs volunteered for the week of Dec. 18. Did I get that right?
And BookKitty either volunteered for a week or said she was gonna kick our butts. That right?
This thing is just gettin’ downright complicated! I may need a beer. There’s cheesecake in my beerator but I can’t eat any of it until tomorrow. How fair is that!
OK…I’ve managed to navigate the MMP, with interruptions from the little brother and an internet search for an old friend of ours. Found her. We search the net together over the phone way too often.
Happy Birthday, Meeks
So that makes your birthday the 24th, right, Drae?
I see people are signing up all over the place. Does everyone realize that both Christmas and New Year’s Day are on a Monday? Will we be starting the MMP on Monday those weeks or deferring till Tuesday? This is all far too organized. I’ll have to stop now.
Yay for Papa Tigs’ new job.
Hope you’re successful in finding the bed for Grampy, Puggy. More hugs…
Are you sure those guys weren’t ordering for someone else, taxi? Chicken? Hmmm. Are they all picky eaters?
So I have a husband question, LiLi: what the heck is a Russian-style ninja? Or do I want to know?
rigs, I would either e-mail or call back and complain about the unwillingness to change your order. Maybe you just hit a bad customer rep. If you get “Tamara” again, ask to speak to her supervisor.
I’m sure I’ve missed something, but I’ve gotta go make sure stuff is ready for brother and kids tomorrow… Hi everyone! It’s almost Friday.
I am so excited I will never sleep tonight! First, the Snakes beat Huntsville 5-4. Then I got home to a message on my answering machine saying that I had made my first online sale! Yippee!!
And I just responded. Funny I should start discussing the iPod. I was experimenting in iTunes with volume levels because some stuff I downloaded from eMusic was clipping on the low end, so I tried lowering the volume to see if that would solve the clipping problem (it didn’t). When I docked again iTunes just completely and totally lost my damn playlists! All 25 gigs of music was now classified as “other” in the summary screen and there was no music in the “music” pane. Bizarrely it synced all of my video podcasts again, so those are the only accessible items on my iPod.
