X-Men 2 in Philly. Who's up for it?

At the Philly Dope Dinner on Friday night, we were talking about getting together to see X-Men 2 when it opens next weekend. We think that they will be showing it at the Bridge Cinema De Lux at 40th & Walnut because they’ve got the posters in the lobby, but they don’t have show times listed for next week yet. I’m expecting they’ll have the times listed sometime earlier this week.

So, who wants to come along? I was thinking either Friday or Saturday, times to be determined when we know what show times are. As the bridge does reserved seating, Verrain and I were thinking of getting the group of tickets ourselves on our credit card before hand so we’re all sitting together. (Which, of course, will mean that if you say you’re coming we’d really like to make sure you make it so we don’t get stiffed with the costs of the tickets.)

As I get more details about showtimes and whatever, I’ll post it, but for now, who’s interested and what days/times would be better?

I found the thread right after I hung up with you on the phone so bump and count me in

Cool. Still no luck on any dates and times for Friday’s shows online. Grrr… Maybe by tomorrow.

'Cause I’d really rather not go to CineMagic!

And, as of this morning, still no dates and times online. So, we’ll say this:

Who wants to go Friday?

Who wants to go Saturday?

What is the best (approximate) time for this?

I’m planning on going by Thursday after my dental appointment (yeah, I’m glutton for punishment) to pick up as many tickets as we need for whatever time we decide.

So decide!

I’d like to go Saturday, as on Fridays, I’m rather worn out.

THAT explains why you never make any of the Friday Dope Dinners.

Afternoon or Evening better for you on Saturday? And who else is up for this?

Saturday would work best for me, but I have to wait and see what times the show would be at as I will be at my graduate research conference all day.

Anyone wanna sit in on my chat on contemporary public art?

crickets chirp, tides come and go

Didn’t think so.

I’ll have to see what else my weekend is bringing. We have some cleaning to do and some tux stuff to do for the wedding. But I might be free to sit in for awhile. Let me know details and I’ll keep you posted as to my availability.

What weekend are we talking about?

It’s nigh well impossible for me to travel to Philly on a Friday night, so it’ll have to be a Saturday for me, preferably a matinee, but I’m flexible.

I need to make time to go to the tattoo parlor so I can get “As far as you’re concerned, the Turnpike ends at the Valley Forge exit” on my forehead.

Robin

Robin

We were talking about this coming weekend. Seems as though Saturday would be better for most people concerned, actually.

And this time, you’re getting my cell number so you can pull over to a payphone when you hit Bucks County and let us know what’s going on!

Oh, shoot. I can’t make it if it’s this weekend. I’m going down to Maryland for Ginger’s deal.

Robin

Robin, just remember that 76 becomes 276 at Valley Forge. If you want to stay on 76 you have to exit 76. Then you come to the entrance ramp to get on 76. Simple

Oh, and when you get that tatoo make sure it’s backwards so you can read it when you look in the rear-view mirror.

We’ll have to catch you on the next thing we get together for. I’m hoping to arrange going to either the Zoo or one of the museums one of the weekends in May because Fleet card holders get in for free. I have a Fleet card.

Frank, are you in?

Ok, guys. It looks like the Bridge isn’t going to put their times up until tomorrow or Friday, so I have a proposal. Let’s say Saturday show, the closest to 3pm that they have?

I’ll go Friday to pick up the tickets, probably around noon, so if you can let me know as soon as possible if you’re in or not, I’d appreciate it. Once I have a solid time, I’ll post it.

Sorry, no can do.

Hope y’all have fun…and someone throw a piece of popcorn at TP’s boobage for me.

I’ll take care of it for you moi

Well, it looks like the Bridge isn’t showing X2 opening weekend. :frowning: However, Cinemagic (which is 1/2 a block from the Bridge) is showing it and I, for one, would still like to see it. It looks like the two closest times to what I’d thrown in is 2:00, 2:30, 4:30 or 5:00. I’ll be willing to meet up with anyone that’s still interested at any of those times (or earlier, if anyone wants to get lunch around here before hand). Getting the tickets before hand shouldn’t be as much of a deal, as this theater doesn’t have reserved seating. But I’m leaving it up to y’all. Let me know what you want to do.

My car insurance and credit card bills paid themseves toay so it looks like I’m out of comission for anything until the next doper dinner. :frowning:

I will however, have to make up for lost time on friday.

Darn. :frowning:

Are you still going to La Columbe on Saturday? There was talk of Verrain and I making it to Robin’s 8th & Walnut to look at some of their rings on Saturday (especially since it looks like he and I are the only ones that will be able to make this now) and we might be able to stop by.

I get most of my work done there so probably. The $10 it costs me for parking and a cup of coffee to get me out of my house foor a day qualifies as a necessity, not a luxury for me. If my saturday plans change I’ll let you know but I’ll probably be there from around noon til 5 or 6.
