Yet Another Mundane and Pointless MMP

The thing at St. Paul’s was nice. We had veggie lasagna, sallit, bread, and cookies. Accompanied with iced tea and lemonade plus water for those who wanted. The Lenten meditation was good as well. I did change out of adult clothes and achieved nappage. Now I am back in adult clothes as I will leave da cave again in about an hour.

Frames for glasses be weird. I knew I wanted black plastic frames (What? I like nerd glasses.) and was afraid I would not find what I wanted. However, the first pair I tried on I really liked. I looked at others but kept comin’ back to that first pair which are now sittin’ on my face.

ETA: First on Three! NEENER! NEENER! NEENER! Spidey

I hate picking out frames, but I’ve got a pair on order that I think will do the job. The lenses are a wee bit bigger than mine, tho they’re a bit more square than I prefer, I don’t have to look at them, so I don’t care.

I’m about to assume the knit position. For some reason, I’m exhausted. I see an early bedtime.

Mooooom, I’ve worn pretty much the same style of glasses for the last quarter century. When the small frames came into vogue, I asked about them. It seems that they’re not an option in trifocals.

sari, have you considered a strip of industrial strength velcro on the jamb and door? If you use a removable glue, you can even take it off when the cat gets bored with trying to get in.

Today was irk in spades. It will be until 01 Mar. I met some fairly recent neighbors when I walked Nelson this afternoon. They cooed and petted him after he quit barking. :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy Y’all! Home from soup 'n sammich and Lent stuff over to the church house. Good crowd on hand and some nummy soups along with aig sallit and pimento sammiches and cookies. The service was nice as well, a Lenten meditation followed by Eucharist. Glad to be home especially since I was forced to spend most of the day in responsible adult clothes.

Back from Greek class at 6:00PM, then I covered up my car’s windshield because I hear we will likely be gettin more freezing drizzle tonight. Tried to take the dog out but he was too uncomfortable. Will have to take chances indoors. I’ve been trying to train him to the puppy pads the way I had my previous dog Nathan trained. But I got him when he was young, and Mauser is around six by now.

I have to go in early to work tomorrow.:frowning: But hopefully I’ll be off in plenty of time for my hair appointment. Hair appointments are important to women!

The Girl Scout cookies in the fridge are calling to me and I’m trying to resist their Siren lure. Maybe just one?

Well, I have walls back, the carpet people said I didn’t have any mold that they could see/smell so the carpet can stay, but the plumbers still have to put the bathroom sink fixture back into the wall. Hopefully tomorrow.

Need to re-paint the wall in the closet (I could have had the contractor do it, but I ought to do something to get the house right. Bought some paint brushes (The one I wanted was $11, but getting a package with it and three additional brushes was only $15, so I’m ready for future emergencies).

Down to the last three pairs of underwear, so laundry is probably on tap for tomorrow.

Haven’t been to the eye doctor in 18 months, probably need to go even though I’m having no problems with my glasses. But I’m paying for the insurance, so guess I ought to use it.

Butters, glad you’re feeling better.

One of my favorite junior bosses got promoted to customer today; at least they dropped the ax while he could take the yearly buy-out we get offered. That makes three managers killed off this last month or so. A lot of the peasants like me are bailing as well. I’m sticking around but with open eyes and being a heck of a lot older than any of them. Tomorrow after work we go celebrate their freedom with food and alcohol at a local watering-hole. In other words don’t expect to hear from me tomorrow night.

Both of the humans are probably right.

I AM A HOT MESS AND THE NEIGHBORS THINK I’M BEING MURDERED, BUT IT’S ALL GOOD BECAUSE THE USA WON THE GOLD OVER CANADA IN THE SHOOTOUT!!!
I should probably go to bed.

Clarification: do the neighbors think you’re being murdered or that you need murderin’ on account of you’d make less noise that way?

Yes.

Nothing like coming in to work with a high priority email waiting! Not a huge deal - it’s a revision of a drawing, but they need it to finish a project that’s in the shop right now.

I didn’t mention - not that any of you cares - but after dealing with a pissy loser, yesterday it was made official that we’ll be building a couple of Abrams tank trainers! A bit of a change from aircraft trainers, especially the H-60, which we’ve build a gazillion. From what I understand, it’s a high-priority, short-turn-around project, and Josh is the mechanical lead. Yay - I like working with Josh.

Other than that, just another day in paradise. I need to stop for groceries on the way home and tonight, I’ll drop the Sonata off to get its oil changed tomorrow. Which means I get to drive the truck tomorrow. Rah.

Happy Thursday!!

Home from where I work. I left a little early to go to the ATM and the 24-hr Walgreens, and still arrive about 30 minutes early. Almost immediately I got a call from my boss that the library is closed today at least until noon, due to icy weather. Talk about mixed feelings. I likely have a day off, but I won’t get to go to my hairdressers like I was looking forward to. And I can’t go right back to sleep again.

I’ll have some hot tea and toast and see what happens.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 83, which would be a record temp for this day, and mostly N.O.S. this afternoon. Icy roads where CupCakes stays and record high temps here. Weather be weird. I foresee a day of readin’, watchin’ Netflix, and playin’ on teh intartoobz. I have a poke roast in the slow cooker that will be turned into bbq sammiches with coleslaw and fries. YUM!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, well, onward into the day!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Morning all. Almost 70F here this morning and the heater hasn’t clicked on in three days. Enjoying a BLT without Christmas (No L) on rye toast. Lots of international soccer on the Tee-Vee today, so i mellow out until noon or so–but if I haven’t heard from the plumbing people by then, mellow is going right out the door and grumpy is making an appearance.

And I think I’m catching cold. Oh joy.

All y’all take care.

Dopey, grumpy & sneezy; iz you Snow White, Doc?

Signed,
:o <– (Bashful)

Cool!!! I had to bail and go to sleep during the third and hadn’t checked the results yet.

<in a British accent> “To paraphrase ------ we Dogbutlers are never noisier than when we’re dead!”

Irk will be interesting. This years annual late-February Kristallnacht is odd this year. Last year 80% of the people who bailed were ones we barely knew worked there to start with. This year its more like 80% our top people. It will make March really interesting.

(Da Jungle does this thing where once a year the entire corp gets offered a buy-out ------ one time money to leave and never ever return to any of their operations anywhere in the world. Its also the time of year when bosses basically tell you “leave while you can”. Its an odd thing but it does have its own character to add to “spring cleaning”. )

Blurf Irking as usual.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Closing shift tonight. And to make 2/22 extra special, it’s also the 38th Anniversary of The Miracle On Ice.

Put in a patch so they can be used to play Call of Duty.;)

Last week we were talking about Ruble getting a tank. Please make arrangements to bring one home for testing (of which your fellow mumpers will be assisting ;)). I mean one should have training before driving some multi-ton piece of equipement, & as a bonus we’ll help out in finding issues, leaving the real army to get ready for 45’s parade.

Win-win.
