Yet Another Mundane and Pointless MMP

Yay! Anyone remember my tiny car bump last year, when I got rear-ended, back in April? The one where the other driver denied involvement despite stopping and giving me her details? It’s finally been settled! Just got a cheque for my excess, and a note saying ‘please let us know you got this so we can close the case’.

Not quite 11 months… Glad to be done with that.

Maybe I should put it towards a tank. No-one’s gonna crash into one o’ them and do any damage.

Where’s my panzerfauste?
dammit

blink Do you think I could come visit you at your job? puppy eyes

Just for clarification, the trainers are going to be the tank equivalent of a flight simulator. They won’t move, they won’t shoot, they won’t have armor plating. They’ll most likely be primarily an aluminum shell enclosing a compartment made to look like the actual tank, used to teach new drivers what it’ll be like to kill commies.

We’re also going to be building a maintenance trainer for a UAV later this year. This is a cool place to work, and I’m just a lowly drafter!

I understand that, but given I’m a bit rusty on driving tracked vehicles, a sim would benefit in that I’ll be up to speed (heh) when I get into Ruble’s acquisition.

OTOH, I could go practice on a bulldozer, but they have open, unobstructed viewing, not looking thru a tiny little window/screen like in a tank.

OMS is sick. Diarrhea and vomiting. Took him to the vet yesterday and got him some meds. Fitful sleep last night as I kept waking up to check on him. He’s snoozing on the rug in front of the bathtub right now. He likes that rug for some reason.

Nothing on the schedule for today. Might go over to the closer food store to take advantage of their ‘sale’. Or not. Decisions, decisions.

I believe they are called “periscopes”, and you can have one for your very own!

Thank you for the correct terminology, kind man. However, they are not mounted. It would be difficult to both hold one & drive the bulldozer. Would you be so kind as to hold it for me whilst I maneuvered said bulldozer?

Would you also be so kind as to hold the periscope whilst I drove a different military vehicle & put it thru it’s paces? We could lash you to it so you wouldn’t get thrown off from the waves hitting you.

Do you think he’ll realize there are no waves under water?

I know. Still makes them a combo “trip down memory lane to videogames at the arcade” and “current cool gizmo”.

Ruble da Jungle is weird. Enjoy your night out. I wonder why it’s always the good 'uns that get the ax?

cupcakes why can’t you go to the hair stylist even if irk is closed? Is it the roads?

Does anyone remember the episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Dad was burning through their life saving’s renting a steam roller so he could smash All the Things? Dewey killed the fun.

It snowed a few inches overnight. It stuck for a little, but it’s mostly gone now. I haven’t checked the weather to see if we’re getting more. Since my head still feels like an elephant is standing on it, I’m going with yes.

Happy day before almost weekend day!

I think I will be going out after all, but I was indeed thinking of the roads. They are slicker than…you know…but if I give myself extra time I should be okay.

“Tank sold separately.”

I have a new project for us. Compile a list of Facebook pages run by the Godless Commies, like “Being Patriotic”. We all comment on them, “Kill moose and squirrel!”
I know I can count on you guys.

Back from work and grocery shopping. Shortly, we’ll drop off my car for service tomorrow, then go grab a burger or something for supper.

My brain is well and truly fried.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s cold, wet, and rainy outside.

The fat ass cat went out twice even though I told him he wouldn’t be happy out there and ever since he came in he has been sleeping on the arm of the couch with his face just inches from the heat vent. That seems a bit unhealthy to me, but cats do what they do.

Ididn’t sleep well last night so I took a nap earlier.
I have a kink in my neck, it’s been kind of a miserable day.

I’m thinking about some kind of shrimp stir fry for dinner, I don’t know. I had a ham, cheese, and veggie omelette for lunch and I’m not too hungry.
I have to log in to irk at 6 and if I don’t eat soon than I’ll have to wait until I get off at 10 to eat, or grab something quick while I’m irking.
I’m trying to eat healthier and not doing so well at it.

I thought about trying velcro Red.
Last night he put a big box in front of the door and that seems to work.

BBQ sammiches, slaw and fries were good! I was goin’ to do sump’n with fish for tomorrow but OYKW expressed a desire to go to the good local seafood place to sup so we shall. Hey, he’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’!

I waited until 3PM for any sign of the plumber, then went into grumpy mode. Company said it was on the books for today, but ‘other stuff’ came up, they apologized profusely and said he’d be here by 1100 tomorrow. We’ll see. To bad they can’t read my Facebook page, where I’ve posted the quote: “Beware the Fury of a Patient Man.”

To entertain myself I did three loads of laundry and watched a whole bunch of European soccer from places I’ve never heard of.

Last weekend for indoor soccer is coming up, then I become the grandmaster for the outdoor 6U girls league. That’ll keep me occupied until June.

Bumba, hope OMS gets to feeling better.

ruble, so once a year they offer everybody the chance to leave? what if everybody took them up on it. Sunny’s right, wierd place.

mooooomm, when I was in the Foreign Military Sales work, I had to learn a little about training devices for the UH-60, there certainly is no lack of them. Have fun with your tank simulator.

Nut, the wheels of justice grind slowly, but I’m glad they finally worked for you.

doggio, how are you doing? IIRC, it hasn’t been that long since you were in the hospital, but I can’t remember if it was “something routine” or “at death’s door”.

For all you cold weather folks, it’s 75F right now in N. Ali-Bama.

Metal Mouse It’s supposed to be under 20 tonight. Chance of snow. Again. I guess I really do prefer that to 75, so it all works out. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Sonata is in the hands of our car guys. It’ll get an oil change and tire rotation, plus they always give it a once-over. I love my car guys. When it’s done, **FCD **will pick it up and drop off his car. Then in April, we’ll take the truck in for a good check before our trek to FL to move the kids.

We decided to have supper at Bert’s - we haven’t eaten there in ages! But we recognized our server - she said she’s been there for 7 years. Supper wasn’t bad, and now we’re in for the night.

**swampy **- your talk of pulled poke inspired me - I got a <snerk> butt <snerk> today and it’s in the big crock pot with onions and Sonny’s sweet BBQ sauce. I need to remember to yank the crock out of the fridge in the morning and get it started so’s it can cook all day.

I also bought some ground beef to make sloppy joes - we haven’t had them for ages!! So I’ll make and bag a big batch. Not today, tho. Knittage shall ensue till bedtime.

I think I may have found someone to take my mirrored doors. If I don’t hear back from her, I’ll contact the local theater group - I bet they’d like to have 6 full-length mirrors! One way or another, I want someone to come take them away so we don’t have to haul them to the Habitat store.

Thus ends my day - time to assume the position in my recliner.

{{{OMS and bumba}}}

Irk was irksome. Apparently , I’m the AMA for the noobs in the department, including the supe. Security almost didn’t let me take my insulin kit out this afternoon. It seems policy changed sometime during the day and TPTB didn’t see fit to tell the affected employees. I had to swing by the front desk to get a company approved case for it.

AT&T was in today to increase connectivity. I got the slip on the door yesterday to have pets crated for the work. They left a spool of cable in my front yard. So far, I’m not impressed. They dug up the perimeter of the property and just put straw over the muddy mess. The apartment manager is raising hell with the contractors to live up to their landscaping bargain.

That seems to be a popular thing. :dubious:
