Apologies if this was mentioned and I missed it, but if you go to User CP, Edit Options, there’s a checkbox for “Show users’ signatures.” Choose “no” and voila! No more reason for complaints.

What I still haven’t figured out about this whole tempest in a teapot is why the fuck it matters? So Esprix is an attention whore. As was stated already in this thread, we have a word for the people here who aren’t attention whores, and it’s lurker.
How does Esprix being an attention whore hurt you? Perhaps it would be more effective to get the men who are holding the guns to your head to force you to read his posts to stop doing so than to Pit him for that.
And just a parting word of advice…whining about a so-called Clique to soothe your hurt feelings over a Pit thread that turned around and bit you in the ass is not the way to garner sympathy, except in a very limited fellow-paranoid-fantasist group.

I knew that posting this would probably turn around and bite me in the ass. I accepted that since at least I would get to state my opinion.
I am not trying to garner sympathy. I don’t need it. I don’t mind the pile on. That is every poster’s right, as it was mine to pit Esprix in the first place.
As for how it hurts me? I am not a moron. It does not hurt me in any way. I don’t need to read Esprix’s posts. Again, you are correct. It is not his posts I am having issues with for the most part however. It was his sig. So I pitted him. I am not paranoid or a fantasist. If you think I am, please start a thread and explain it to me so that I may understand.
As for “The Clique” I didn’t make up the phrase, I am just re-hashing the phrasing already used. Anyway, feel free to keep posting to this thread. I mean that to all. I understand that my view here may not have been a popular one and do not mind hearing about it from others. Hell, I bet there is at least one or two other Dopers out there who might even agree with me. I could be wrong. I have been wrong before.
Anyway, you may feel my opinion is wrong, or inane, but I stand by it. If you want to disagree, feel free to do it here, or start a thread in MPSIMS giving Esprix a virtual hug/ hand job/ or ego boost. Either way, I honestly could give two shits. I stated an opinion, and that is all there is to it.
I have mentioned that it wasn’t Esprix himself I disliked (although maybe my choice of phrasing in the pitting didn’t accurately reflect that), but since I have read his responses from here and elsewhere, I think I may have to change my opinion there. But I’ll wait and reserve judgement on that.
I don’t think people are calling your opinion wrong or inane, but are simply saying, “Yes, and…?” Esprix himself acknowledges he’s an attention whore, at least here in the Dope. Your pit thread just seemed stating the obvious. Which is in itself really not very pit-worthy.
But that’s my opinion. It may be just as “duh!”-worthy as yours.
