Since we are addressing the question of Esprix’s sig here, and I’m referenced in it (though nobody’s accused me of attention-whoring for being there!), I feel I deserve a voice. I saw the Presidential campaign and the Cecil-recognition links as fine examples of self-deprecating humor in the classic camp style, not as cries for attention.
And, as has been stressed for two pages now, the ATGG references are invaluable, and difficult to locate in any other way. As an essentially straight man sympathetic to the gay community but with less knowledge than I should have about how they feel and what they truly want, those threads were very much eye-openers for me personally, and among the most important fighting of ignorance this board has ever done, IMHO.
And hence, quite apart from linking to our “Presidential campaign,” I think that Esprix’s sig is probably one of the most valuable ones – perhaps the least accusable of “being a waste of bandwidth” – of any sig line.
BTW, there is nothing stopping you from launching ATGG V; it and your indexing project can happen simultaneously.
Does anyone else here think Curious is getting off on all this attention? Albeit negative, it is attention. What better way to get attention then to attack a very popular poster in a pit thread?
That’s the vibe I’m getting, especially when you consider that he seems unrepentant throughout the whole thread. 
Stephi feel free to think as you will. I personally don’t care. Although, I am in fact not gettign off on the attention. Though I will admit to being somewhat surprised at the vast amount of posts piling on both here and in LJ. (not the fact that some people disagree however)
I am unrepentant that I pitted him based on his signature. I AM repentant on some of the language I used here, and in the LJ forum.
And that is the last thing I will say on the subject.
You know, it just dawned on me that “Ask the gay guy” consists entirely of three-letter words, and so is impossible to search for.

Even the whole “attention whore” thing has been done before.
So, yeah, hardly original, and I’m hardly loved by everyone, but I take heart that these kinds of threads are but the smallest possible number given how long I’ve been here, how many posts I’ve made and how much (I think) good I’ve contributed to the boards.
Even my sig line.

I’d hardly call this thread a pile-on, as no one has insulted anyone’s mother’s virtue or accused anyone of unnatural acts with barnyard animals.
And, for the record, I enjoyed the ATGG threads and fail to see why an innocuous sig merits a Pit thread, let alone a martyrdom.
