Mild is perfect. 68 to 77 F/20 to 25 C=sheer bliss. I dream of two places in the world where it’s 70ºF all year round: Aruba (because of tropical sea breezes) and Kampala (because of the equator plus high altitude).
I picked 68-77, but don’t mind the mid-60s. I dislike when it gets above 80.
Every time there’s a winter weather thread, somebody always shows up to boast about the 90-ish heat where they are, and that seems more unpleasant than snow to me. It’d be like July and August all year 'round, stuck inside with the AC on.
That describes southern Malaysia where I lived. The equatorial climate is the same, hot and humid, all year round. It’s the land of eternal summer. Except I had no air conditioning at home, just ceiling fans. This will give you some idea of the climate there: Sitting directly under the fan at full blast, until all the surface of my skin exposed to the air current feels chilled—while under my shirt, drops of sweat keep rolling down. We never bothered to connect a water heater to the house plumbing, and took showers in pleasantly cool water.
There were things I liked about Malaysia, but I could not deal with the climate because of my health issue. So I gladly returned to the United States, to Virginia, which, despite its own humid heat, is lovely and mild compared to the Torrid Zone.
I picked 50-59 degrees F, but was wrong. I was thinking of those crisp autumn days, perfect for a long walk through the woods, but forgot that I never heat my apartment to more than 60 unless “company” is coming over (well, if they are friends or clients), and I have to wear fingerless gloves to practice playing music or just to keep it real, yo.
60-68 F is better. Wish we could change answers on polls (our own answers, of course)!
High 60’s to low 70’s:).
77-86F/25-30C. Not too hot, not too cold.
I went with 50-59 but anywhere in the 50s or 60s is perfect to me. Anything above 68 is too hot.
(Yes, I am frequently called insane for this. But I really, really can’t stand heat. If you have to take your jacket off, it’s too hot!)
Ditto.
Here in Las Vegas, with pretty much zip humidity, those 90-100 degree days are perfect, but I can even be happy on a few of those 110+ days.
Have become a wimp since moving here - get cold really easily and do not like having to wear a sweater or jacket.
I picked 68-77, but I think I would make that more like 68-72.
68-77. I keep saying that I would pack my things, leave behind everyone, and move across the country to Southern California, to enjoy such temps on a regular basis.
I chose 32-41 because I really enjoy the cold. My husband and I took our honeymoon in Finland last November, specifically about 125 miles south of the arctic circle. After the third day of being there we stopped bundling up completely when we left the house unless we were going to be out for half an hour or more, otherwise if we were just walking to the restaurant up the road or what have you we didn’t even button our jackets. According to the thermometer at the hotel it was no higher than 0 degrees Celcius at any point during our trip. We still wore sweaters and gloves and such but we didn’t bundle up like we were marching into the tundra either. It was wonderful!
