Your lunch today

I hit Del Taco on the way back to school from checking on the kitties, so a couple of tacos and a Coke.

I always bring leftovers to work for lunch. Today:

The last of the roasted chicken I made a few days ago, with teeny tiny potatoes*, and a mix of summer squash and green beans roasted in olive oil.
*I’m not being cute, they were on special at Trader Joe’s this weekend. Teeny Tiny Potatoes.

Sliced turkey sandwich ,with swiss cheese on whole wheat with lettuce and mustard, a locally grown juicy peach, and a handful of potato chips, Cherry Dr Pepper (turkey, cheese, bread and peach from my Farmer’s Market)

I broke from tradition and gave myself a treat:
Sweet and Sour Chicken, Fried Rice, Chicken and Broccoli with an egg roll and a can of coke- Chinese Lunch Special.

I got up late this morning, so I didn’t have time to eat before I had to catch the bus, but once I got downtown I had a bit of time to kill. There’s a small grocery store near my work that I’d never been to before, so I thought I’d check it out. I got a doughnut and milk for breakfast, and a tub of potato salad. With the potato salad I had an apple and a baggie of kettle chips (which I’d nabbed from the counter at home). Seeing as I only had a fifteen-minute break (stupid 4-hour shifts), it made for a pretty good meal.

Trader Joe’s black bean & corn enchiladas. And a roll of Smarties.

The remaining half of a grilled cheese/bacon/tomato sandwich, brought home from the sports bar last night, and a little container of salad with “lite” ranch dressing. I warmed the sandwich in the microwave.

The best part was the drink: fresh-pressed, non-pasteurized, icy-cold apple cider. A friend made it Monday – I enjoyed it all week.

I almost always take leftovers to work for lunch.

A 4x4 from In-N-Out, along with fries dipped in special sauce and a Barque’s Root Beer.

Half a pasty, a diet Vernor’s, and my vitamins. Lunch of champions.

I liked my lunch so much, I had it again for dinner.

Gotta say, I love the taste of the sharp cheddar with the tuna. I never had it before. Yum.

I haven’t had lunch yet. Perhaps in another hour. But it’s going to be ham and cheese sandwiches, plus a banana.

This!

Top left – apple slices
Top right – sugar snap peas
Bottom left – bagel
Bottom right - cheddar cheese, Malteasers, and herb and garlic cream cheese in the little condiment container.
Extreme right – napkin, wrapping the fork and spoon.

I just got a Laptop Lunch thingee from my husband.

You asked at a good time. It’s Saturday morning over here, and it’s our “anniversary.” No, not the big annual one. We celebrate it on the same day each month, and today we have reservations for the fantastic all-you-can-eat lunch buffet at the Dine @ 7 Restaurant on the 7th floor of the Majestic Grande Hotel. 300 baht (US$8.95) apiece, tax and service charge included. Some really gourmet stuff there. One of the best deals in Bangkok.

Low-carb pasta with tomato sauce (onions, ground beef, tomatoes, spinach, spices). Yum.

A better link is here.

Dim sum, featuring chicken knees and tripe.

Go Vancouver!

turkey frank on a white bun with ketchup, spicy mustard, and frank’s hot sauce - times three plus a coke

Peanut butter and jelly on a poppy seed bagel. I actually debated starting a thread on whether peanut butter and jelly is in fact the messiest food in the universe. I think cheesesteak is a contender, but it doesn’t seem to defy gravity the way PBJ does. I don’t see how it gets to some of the places I find it. Last time I had to remove the number 3 key from my keyboard after an unfortunate encounter, and today my belt was saved only by quick application of my Tide-to-Go stick.

Same as every day - banana and maybe a yogurt. I simply cannot eat much during the day - it makes me too sleepy afterwards :frowning: so I go through the day hungry, yet alert!

I had an Indian tofu & spinach dish, another Indian side dish with potatoes and coriander(?) seeds, salad, fruit, and a 10-cent slice of pumpkin pie. Today was Indian food day in the cafeteria at work, apparently because Diwali is tomorrow.
