Anyone have any thoughts on how this thing works? It’s not randomised, it’s not by the number of letters, and it’s not by the first two letters of the first and last name. Any thoughts?

Apparently it works this way:

Each letter is worth a number; a=1, b=2,…, z=26.

Add up the numbers for your first name, and add up the numbers for your last name, and you get an ordered pair of numbers, which corresponds to some set name.

For example, Bill Gates gives

Bill = 2+9+12+12 = 35
Gates = 7+1+20+5+19 = 52

and (35,52) corresponds to Flailing Fanatical Killer.

Order is important–Bill Gates gives a different name than Gates Bill (Sabre-Toothed Portillo).
