… Gary said prosecutors never asked Dr. Bao a question crucial to their case.
“He wanted a question that would have allowed him to explain to the jury with scientific evidence how there was no way Trayvon Martin could have been on top of George Zimmerman,” Gary said.
Gary said that question never came.
… let’s go to video tape. - YouTube (at 42:23) mark, he is asked EXACTLY that question. His response: “I have no fact, I have zero opinion.”
Oh dear god Bao was a total embarrassment. I can’t believe someone so obviously incompetent would actually remain employed, so I can only surmise that the defense bought him off.
I didn’t even notice man. No ulterior motive there at all. There were just a limited number of paper targets that fit what I was looking for and seemed to be most giggle-worthy. The runner up wasn’t nearly as good and now I can’t even find it again.
You guys briefly touched on the subject of the following link, but I want to have it checked. I know I’m too biased to look at it objectively without a lot of work on my part. So I thought I’d check here.
This link implies that Zimmerman defrauded his lawyer from getting money from his defense fund. In other words, it’s not that he didn’t have the money, but that he spent it on unrelated things. It specifically cites a bail amount that it says should have been refunded but wasn’t. It also seems to say that he doesn’t plan on giving money to his lawyer even if he gets more.
“The first expense entered shows $95,000 for bail. That money would have been returned following the not guilty verdict, however, which means this is no longer a valid expense.”
The article is wrong. When you post the entire bail, you get money back. If you use a bail bondsman, like Zimmerman did (since his entire bail was $1M), you don’t get your money back, whether it is guilty or non guilty verdict. In fact, the verdict doesn’t enter into account on bail payback at all.
I didn’t really read the rest of the article, but it is probably just as “accurate”.
And his lawyers stated, repeatedly, that they didn’t expect to be paid out of the legal defense fund - they used it for trial expenses, but not for their own compensation. They do expect to be paid if/when Zimmerman comes into some money, in whatever way that happens.
Thank you. I had a feeling it would be something like this, if only because no one in this thread seemed all that mad about this. I only just saw this because a Facebook friend posted it.
