Lost 2.12: "Fire + Water"

First, the thread rules:

Based on the previews, this episode should have been titled either “The Dingo Ate My Baby” or “Did You Get the Stuff, Man?” Maybe we’ll get a glimpse of what the Oceanic Army looks like. Anyone wanna bet that there isn’t a power struggle for who commands it?

From the ABC “Lost” site:

“Fire + Water” When Charlie’s vividly surreal dreams lead him to believe Claire’s baby, Aaron, is in danger, Locke suspects Charlie may be using again. Meanwhile, Sawyer encourages Hurley to act on his attraction to Libby.

Meanwhile, Sawyer encourages Hurley to act on his attraction to Libby. That can only spell disaster for Hugo. Or a bullet in the shoulder.

Or for the other person in the spoiler that isn’t a male.
Sorry, best I can do with my inability to do spoiler tags.

Or um, my inability to quote. After all these years you’d think I’d know some stuff…

I’m still suspicious of Libby. Do we know she was on the plane?

Since tonight’s episode is about Charlie, I’m going to continue to hold out hope that we hear “You All Everybody” again.

I’m very certain I saw her in the water. So, if she is a plant (a foxy plant!) then she’s a hell of a lot better at it than Goodwin.

I’m holding out hope that he looses the power of speech and that his fingers fall off. Retroactively. So I never have to hear that song again.

Actually, that could be a whole hell of a lot of fun, too!

Hmm. Interesting tidbits at Epguides.com in their episode guides for upcoming episodes. Nothing too spoilery, just bits about who each episode is centered around.

The next one, “The Long Con” is a Sawyer-centric episode and airs Feb. 8th. No description for this one.
Then comes “One Of Them” which is Sayid’s turn, but no episode description. This one airs the 15th.
Then comes one for Claire called “Maternity Leave.” It is also listed as airing Feb. 15th. It says it’s a Claire-centric episode, but the episode descripton says… Wait, I’ll put it in another spoiler box for the truly virginal…

Kinda spoilery thing:

"More insight on Sawyer’s life as a con man is revealed and Sawyer sets his sights on the recurring lottery girl who pulled out Hurley’s lottery numbers. "
Maybe Libby is the Lottery Girl? Interesting.

I’ll put this in a box even though it was in the commercial for the show:

It seemed to show Charlie setting a fire as a diversion in order to snatch the baby. Of course they would never make a preview misleading.

No. The lottery girl has been seen before. She is the real life wife of the guy that plays Michael. She was in Sawyer’s hotel room when the T-1000 came to send him to Australia.

Hmmm. We know people’s dreams mean a lot on this island…

Charlie’s getting jeeeeealoussssss!

“Here I am, a famous rock star. And I’m losing my favorite bird to some old bald-headed guy… I all, everybody!”

I know it’s incredibly silly of me, but I’d like to believe that the show’s writers stole the term “Tailies” from the Dope.

Just heard that here - had the same thought!

Heh – Hurley is calling them “Tailies” too. Wonder if that came from the show producers reading the online chatter…

Who was Charlie’s mother supposed to be in that little tableau? I’m guessing that Claire = B.V.M., but Ma Meghan = ? And were there two birds, or only one? I saw the white dove - was there also a crow?

I’d guess Elizabeth or St. Anne

I think we’re going to find that Charlie has overprotective feelings for the baby because of something in his past regarding his brother’s baby (and his irresponsible brother).
