"24" Season 2, Episode 1 - 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (SPOILERS)

But I’m inexplicably attracted to Sara Gilbert. I may just keep watching the show to see her.

Even though her character is annoying.

Sara Gilbert is listed in the opening credits as a guest star.

Something tells me her character has less than 24 hours to live.

Penny Johnson was listed as a guest star all last season and she made it. maybe the higher profile actors get the guest star status.

Ok, I just got around to watching the show tonight. Whoa, what an hour! And the miracle of the VCR allowed me to watch the special Ford messages in super-speed! (Don’t worry, I still saw no less that half a dozen Ford vehicles in the show itself)

I didn’t see this mentioned in the thread so maybe I’m just not up on the latest torture techniques, but does anyone know what the deal was with the bags full of brackish liquid on the terrorist’s feet were?

I also just watched it yesterday. I missed season one, so a few observations…

How old is Jack Bauer supposed to be? Kiefer doesn’t look old enough to have a 19(?) year old daughter.

When Jack shot the child molester my jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe he did that, and I’m still not clear on why. Is it because evil child molestor was the key witness against Wald(?) and by killing him the state has to drop the case? Or because then he can show Wald he saved his ass with ECM’s head?

As to Kim kicking ass…remember, the wife beating dad thing happened in the final seconds of the show. Give her a minute or two, and I’m sure right around 9:01a in episode 2 we’ll see some serious ass-kicking.

Is the President married or divorced? When he was fishing with his son I caught something about, “How’s your mom?” “She’s still sad,” or something like that.

And what is up with Eric presuming to decide the Prez will change his mind about talking with the Joint Chiefs? Eric has obviously not worked with Jeb Bartlet

Keifer Sutherland - DOB December 21, 1966, says IMDB. If Jack is only a few years older, or Kim is younger than 19, the father-daughter relationship works.

IRL Keifer has a 16-17 year old daughter.

Presumably we’ll find out, but I’m betting that he did it as a very quick way of infiltrating the gang, i.e., showing them the head of ECM (the state’s key witness). Remember, he said something about it normally takes weeks to set up a cover identity and infiltrate a group like that.

David Palmer’s wife was shown in season one (when he was still a candidate) to be a total scheming, manipulative, makes Lady MacBeth look like Rosalynn Carter bitch. I don’t know if they’re formally divorced yet or merely “estranged”.

IIRC, the official website says that President Palmer is divorced.

Personally, I think it’d be suspicious as hell if a guy I used to know turned up out of nowhere with the head of the key witness against me in my trial–a guy who was in federal custody–and started weaseling his way into my group and asking urgent questions like, “So, uh, haven’t heard anything about a bomb going off, have you?”

I’ll be interested to see how the initial infiltration plays out.

Not very good. If you saw the “previews of the next episode” then you would see why.

Jack brings the head to these people, they seem to disregard it and say “take him into the back room”. oi.

In the TV Guide this week, it says, “Jack re-establishes his undercover identity.”

I’d take that to mean that these guys don’t know he’s CTU, and he had some previous relationship with them. He has to re-establish contact, and have a plausible excuse for his absence.
