"24" Season 2, Episode 10 - 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (SPOILERS)

Yes, for sure we got a new couple forming ; Kate/Jack.
Marie is for sure Sayed’s girl…
I can’t help thinking Tony’s new girl (Michelle?) is a mole…

I have questions for all of you, please help me!

First (I missed the end of last season), is Miguel suppose to be the guy who kidnapped Kim? (and couldn’t they find an actor who looked at least a little more Portorican?!)

And where do the Warner’s live? is it far from the city? Because Marie being in the plot now, did she intend to get married then blown apart by the bomb?? or are they far enought from the blast area?

The Warners live in Pasadena according to Tony.

“… a whitebread family from Pasadena. …”

However, when Resa was showing Kate the house he bought for his murderer-to-be, they drove to the ocean in about 10 minutes.

I hope someone could tell me what route they took because it would make my life much more fun!

So, if Sayed Ali is the head terrorist, and not middle management, is his plan to go up with the bomb? I would think a terrorist leader would prefer to observe the blast and the American reactions from nearby, not ground zero.

I missed the episode this week [sub] I know, I know…How could I miss it?[/sub] and am relying on your posts and the Fox network’s website for 24 to find out what happened.

I just wanted to make a speculation as to what Jack whispered to Nina that caused her countenance to change so. The guide said that Nina had told Jack that his “predicament was not personal”. My guess is that Jack told her in the way that only Jack Bauer can…

Yes, I think he plans to go up with the bomb – from the scene where he wants to pray properly one last time. My impression is that he is the “head” in the sense of being the Mohammed Atta of the group. He probably has some higher-ups back home who planned the whole thing and get to be in the “distant blast observer” category.

How about Megan’s aunt? It was said she lived like 60 or 80 miles away, but it hadn’t been very long since they got to the police station. I’m sure it took some time to contact her aunt and tell her to pick the girl up.

They’ve gone from real time to movie time this season. You’ll notice they no longer say “events occur in real time”, but “the following occurs between X time and Y time”.

Angelnside, he did tell Nina (out loud), when she said it’s not personal, “you made it personal when you killed my wife”.

Megan’s aunt is supposed to live in Santa Barbara, which is about 100 miles away from LA.

And even under optimal conditions, it’s a long drive. There is always traffic.

Thanks, Carine
That’s what I get for commenting on something I haven’t seen

No, Kim was kidnapped by a guy named Rick and another guy whose name escapes me at the moment. She was with her friend Something York, who was later killed.
It was a part of the plan to mislead Jack, and get him away from CTU so the assassination of Palmer could take place.

Some guy who claimed to be Alan York, her father, called Terri, and said he was worried about the missing girls and misled her for several hours. FauxYork Guy ended up being one of the bad guys and was later killed by one of the terrorists (the Drazens) who was in cahoots with Evil Nina.

The other guy who kidnapped Kim was killed by Ira Gaines, one of the Bad Guys, and Rick had to bury him at the compound where they took Kim, and later Terri.
Rick actually was kind of clueless about what was going on, and later helped Kim, Jack and Terri escape from the compound where they were being held. He had been shot in the arm, and went home.
Kim later went to him for help again, and he was arrested with Kim in a drug bust, and the last we saw of him, he was in jail.

Here’s where I’m having some trouble:
Marie and Sayed as an item, either in the past or secretly now, sure.
Marie deliberately getting close enough to Reza to hack into his laptop and transfer money or cover it up, no problem.
Marie knowingly scheduling her wedding for the same day that the bomb is planned to go off? Huh-uh, this one is stretching it a little far.

Either Marie doesn’t know about the bomb, or she knows about it but doesn’t expect it to be today.
But, if she is currently tied to Sayed Ali, how could she not know about the bomb? And further, if they are romantically involved, even if Sayed doesn’t mind getting himself blown up is he really coldhearted enough to not tell her and let her go through with the wedding?
But, if she’s involved with Sayed, would she have gone through with the wedding anyway (even if she didn’t know about the bomb)? Maybe she was planning to come down with cold feet shortly before the ceremony, but even so it would have been kind of hard to just disappear and get away to safety.

So that means she must not have known about the bomb … which means she probably isn’t currently involved with Sayed … I think. She never did answer Reza’s question about whether she had actually cared about him.

If this doesn’t make any sense, that’s OK - it’s pretty muddled on this end as well.

All of this makes sense, however, if the bomb is NOT being detonated in LA!

Thanks for the help BiblioCat. I had heard that at the end of last season she got with (well exchanged a kiss) the lesser-bad guy that kidnapped her, and I thought he was Miguel (played by a different actor!). OK I was stretching it…

Sure, Carine.
You should rent the first season videos or DVDs from Blockbuster. It will help fill in a lot of holes and explain more of the background stuff.
I saw a promo that said this week’s episode will be rerun Monday at 11:00 on F/X.

Yep – that’s every week, actually. Hear that, all you people whose VCRs blew up? Monday, 11:00 PM, FX – see the repeat!

I was thinking about that too, JayLa. The wedding just doesn’t make sense too me, with Marie being revealed as evil. Why pretend to be in love with Resa and stage a wedding, and possibly even go through with it?

Maybe it’s a way to get her out of harm’s way. She gets married and flies off out of LA for her honeymoon before the blast. Later she ditches Resa (or has him killed) and re-establishes her terrorists ties, completely without looking suspicious.

I thought about the same thing xizor, having her leave for the “honey moon” right after the ceremony so she’d be out of harm’s way.

Well, if she’s the eeeevil, fanatic, bizzeeeyatch I think she is, this would be the perfect way to deflect attention away from herself if the plot is discovered. “Well, Mr. CTU agent, why would I know anything about a bomb? I’m just a ditzy spoiled brat who’s trying to get the caterer to deliver on time.” Hell, the sneaky witch would have probably trotted Resa out as a suspect at the last minute if the investigation got too close to her - “Now that you mention it, I do remember seeing some funny transaction that Resa authorized, but I don’t trouble myself with that money stuff - all those numbers are confusing! Tee-hee!” In fact, if indeed Daddy is a bad guy, they may have conspired to pick Resa as a likely scapegoat, by both hiring him, and arranging the courtship/engagement, with the plot in mind all the time. I think the wedding has been a ruse all along, but I do think that she is willing to die in the blast. Just a hunch.
Since CTU got to Resa and Daddy first, they blew this contingency plan for her, but yeah - I think she’s perfectly capable of using the wedding as a diversion from suspicion. If the bomb plot were thwarted without bringing down her or Resa, she would have gotten cold feet and called it off.

And it’s also on Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m., but I wasn’t sure if they did it during the weeks when a new show wasn’t going to be on.
I thought they waited till the week of the new show.
