Say what? I was disapointed that the actress didn’t do Deep Space Nine.
I will speculate, but I have to think the writers are leaning toward making Heller the bad guy. Why else would they hire a relatively famous actor for the part?
Or the other theory is that the President ordered these attacks himself so he would have an excuse to impose martial law.
I’m not in love with the second theory however.
I haven’t reviewed my tape, but it looked to me like Air Force Impostor Guy was looking at a T38/F5 - which would probably be a typical Air Force One escort plane.
A B-2 is 69 feet long, 17 feet high and has a wingspan of 172 feet.
And it has 4 engines.
Yeah – she would have been good in that.
But last I recall seeing Lynn Kresge’s character was being loaded into the ambulance. I don’t think we ever learned her fate?
He did play a major role in the first what, eight episodes?
I also think Heller will eventually be revealed as a bad guy.
-
They never found out how the terrorists knew where to kidnap him. I’m assuming his son was a dead end for that.
-
“President is on a tight schedule”, Heller is the one giving him advice on how long to stay in the air.
-
He was using his cell phone at CTU, to talk to the prez, hiding from view in CTU mole fashion.
-
When they rescued Heller, one of the terrorists had Audrey at gunpoint, but didn’t shoot her, even though he knew he was about to be martyred (that’s what they keep calling it, anyway). Probably because the plan was never to kill her, else they’d lose Heller’s cooperation.
The whole kidnap was just a ploy to divert suspicion from Heller and make him a trusted advisor to the president for the rest of the day, so he could manipulate the prez to go somewhere specific. They wanted him to be rescued, which is why they put the worst people there and Jack was able to get in by himself.
That whole theory is incredibly unlikely for two main reasons:
1)Heller killed some of the terrorists and they tried to kill him during the gunfight at the end.
2)Heller attempted to kill himself while in custody and it was only blind chance that he didn’t succeed.
What RikWriter said…
In addition, I thought Heller was already a trusted advisor to the president. Why would he be under any suspicion (and hence needing it diverted) in the first place?
I still think there’s something we will find out later about why the terrorists knew about Heller’s unscheduled meeting with Richard. The son was hiding something. I’m going to be pissed at the writers if they don’t eventually tell us what it was.
He muttered something like “know about my friends” in fromt of his Father.
Right – I remember having the impression that Richard had told a friend, but didn’t think it was important or any big deal. And he was keeping quiet to keep his friend (maybe a girl…?) out of it.
My DVR clipped the last half of this episode off. Can I get a synopsis?
Wolfian, you can always get a recap a few days after the episode airs on the Fox website:
