24: Season 4: Episode 14 (8:00pm - 9:00pm)

So who thinks the next terrorist plan will succeed and President Keeler is toast?

I don’t think Fox has the guts to actually kill even a fictional president. Unless he turns out to be the real bad guy.

I still wonder how this plan will work. Air Force One has a fighter escort. Does Mr. Rogue Pilot get up in the air and tell one of the guys, “Hey, I’m filling in. I’m … um … Fred… yeah… Fred… and I’m taking over.”
“OK, Fred. See you when we get back home.”

Hey, was the president actually on the ground this episode? 'cos that was the most office-like plane interior I’ve ever seen. Venetian blinds, even.

I think the terrorists should have been a little nicer to their chump. If you know Jack is being followed, why sacrifice your putz of a driver? Just park his car and take him with you… CTU will be along in a moment anyway, so just put the bomb on a timer and take out the tunnel, too.

My guess, based on IMDB spoilers and baseless speculation:

Air Force One gets shot down and Heller, per the advice of General Whatsisname, brings in former President Palmer to run the government.

Unlikely given that the mole AF impersonator is trying to steal a Stealth bomber.

Not to rain on anyone’s speculation, but isn’t that what the veep is for?

The Speaker of the House and the President Pro Tem of the Senate would be pretty ticked off too.

Along with the Secretaries of State and Treasury.

I’m in charge here…

So they just let people fly stealth bombers who sort of look like they belong? Those things have large crews and I can’t imagine that they would just say, “Oh, you’re the new guy I guess, here are the keys, keep it filled up and don’t scratch it.”

Where does Chloe live? In the basement of CTU? She got there, dressed and ready for work, got through security (ha!), reported to Michelle, and began her snark attack on Edgar all in the space of five minutes.

And I thought I was the only one to notice…I figure she lives in a double wide trailer in the alley behind CTU…and I believe it was more like two minutes after Michelle called, Chloe was at her station. Geez…here at work it is hard enough to get someone from the kitchen to their desk in 20 minutes.

Still - I think this is the best season so far!

Not sure why you put that in a spoiler… but, Exaclty what I was thinking!

And I did expect Audry to slap Jack when he brought foreign hubby back on a stretcher.

I also thought the CTU guys should’ve anticipated a problem when someone (Tony?) said it was taking too long for the car to go thru the tunnel. Too bad they couldn’t have pulled up the tunnel-cam while Jack was in there instead of waiting until afterwards.

I’m also a bit suspicious about TerrorMom really being dead. Why shoot her off camera???

I thought this too, but I’m always dead wrong with my 24 predictions, so the lady is toast

First of all, people in these threads are using spoiler boxes for all kinds of weird reasons.

Spoiler boxes should be used for any information you have gleaned from outside sources, particulalry including both IMDB entries and the “next week on 24” snippets. They should NOT be used for speculation, or for what you saw in this week’s episode but are trying to hide from people in different time zones. People in different time zones should know to avoid these threads until they have seen the show.

It’s very confusing for me, as someone who does not want to be spoiled about future episodes, to see a post containing a spoiler box and nothing else. Is it going to say “wow, I’m surprised Chloe returned”, which I’m happy to read? Or is it going to containg “OMG, I can’t believe we’re going to learn that Marwan is really Sherry Palmer’s Zombie”, which I don’t want to read?

Anyhow, I thought this episode was EXCELLENT, and I hope the whole McLennan-Forester thing will be relegated to the dustbin of stupid-and-forgotten-24-plot-elements.

Are you kidding? The women always go to the bathroom and phone their terrorist masters. Except this season, maybe they finally sheilded the restrooms against cellular transmissions.

It is a very trivial thing, but it’s been bugging me.

What is with the crappy company logos? I don’t know diddly about graphic design, and it looks like something I would come up with.

Right. What he said.

MaxTheVool – a little help for you, regarding these spoiler boxes in recent posts (since I’ve read them):

  1. If you don’t want to be spoiled about future episodes, then under NO circumstances should you click on any of RikWriter’s spoiler boxes. He gets his info, I think, from Tivo, clairvoyant psychics, and other various secret sources. I think his spoiler a few posts up comes at least from next week’s preview, if not more specific sources.

  2. BobT’s spoiler box appears to be in direct response to Rikwriter’s spoiler, and even though most of his comment is speculation, he does repeat a few words from RikWriter’s that might be considered spoilage. You may want to avoid.

  3. Smapti’s was also mostly speculation, but part of that guess is based on seeing some listings of future episodes on IMDB. If you haven’t looked at guest star lists on IMDB (for future episodes), you probably want to avoid this one, too.

And Smapti – I’ve been thinking kind of the same thing… Although the latter part of that would be stretching, as a plot device, so I hope they don’t do it.

Yeah, but they’re going to the bathroom alone, so that should raise suspicions right there…

Yeah, I noticed the blinds, too – although they showed the shot of the plane still in the air, before switching to the inside where he was meeting. So I think he’s still flying.

I’m starting to think that maybe there will be an attack on the Prez after he’s on the ground (rather than trying to shoot down his plane). Marwan did say “He’s on a tight schedule”, in the same episode that SecDef said, “Have the prez fly around a while longer, to be on the safe side”. So perhaps Prez is scheduled for some sort of meeting later on, and perhaps his actual landing will be delayed, is all. Maybe an attack on him is scheduled to take place once he’s meeting with whoever, taking out numerous important govt. targets at once.

That would make a lot of sense, given the info I put in the spoiler box. The only question I have, given that idea, is: which person inside the government is aiding all this? Because there is no way Marwan got this info on his own, not even with his contacts at the defense contractor. (Note, this is not from spoiler info, it’s just my own opinion.)

Lynn Kresge!!!

Motive? Maybe Pres. Keeler has hired Mike Novick onto his staff?

Ah… Poor Ensign Ro… wish they’d told us what happened to her after the stairwell incident.
