I was also a little surprised they didn’t at least SEE the missle and attempt some evasive action. Just because the missile was fired from an “invisible” plane doesn’t mean the missile is invisible. I would have expected a bunch of alarms going off, AF1 banking sharply and the Prez & Son being thrown around the cabin, at the least.
But I really don’t know anything about such things, and figured that if the missile really only took the 10 seconds or so to cover the distance, they didn’t really have time to detect and react. The show really is more fun when you don’t realize when things are wrong.
Im in my hotel room this weekend, reading the TV Guide and its little write-up on Chloe and it claims her primary gig is in comedy. I guess I’d believe it if I saw it but its hard for me to picture her in a role where she’s supposed to be funny w/o being unbelievably freaking annoying.
If CTU would just bring in Rick O’Connell and Ardeth Bey they’d find and subdue Marwhan immediately - jeez, isn’t anyone thinking over there?
Not in defense of Chloe, but Mary Lynn Rajskub is great in Kelsy Grammer’s sketch show, and the did the Downer Channel a few years ago. I consider the hatred for her that seems to be prevalent on the internet as a sign of her being a good actress- she convinced them.
Yep – cute terrorist chick set a bomb on the plane, and then blew open the door with a smaller explosive, which of course immediately depressurized the plane. But she wasn’t exactly concerned with the survival of the rest of the people on the plane. In fact, she was shooting for the exact opposite.
That would probably be a bit drastic of an action for Prez and Son to try to take…
She’s in “That Sketch Show” and she’s been pretty funny in it. My wife and I were discussing how different she looks in both mannerisms and facial expressions in the disparate shows. She’s apparently a good actress.
Now wait a minute.
Forgive me, but how can you have a cute terrorist chick?
“I want you to take this bomb and a parachute on the airplane and…You whore! I can see your ankle!”
Or as we frequently refer to her, the “frequently naked lesbian assassin”. Ahh, Mia Kirshner, how I love thee.
Anyhow, no one has mentioned the greatest line from this episode.
“I means that you’ll have to have the funeral without the body. (pause) Of your mother.”
As for the target being AF1, on the one hand I was disappointed that it wasn’t something else, just because there had been so many clues to it being AF1. On the other hand, what other show has the balls to shoot down AF1?
I saw someone suggest on another board that this season might be related to season two’s failed plot to start a war with some unnnamed Middle Eastern countries by setting off a nuke in LA. Max, the main bad guy from season two, mentioned at the end that they would have to try another method. Maybe this is it?
