24: Season 4: Episode 7 (1:00pm - 2:00pm)

As for why Tony isn’t in jail, I read an article on the show that said Palmer pardoned him as one of his last acts as President.

What I want to know is why Jack isn’t in jail. Wasn’t there a big discussion at the beginning of last season about how Palmer wouldn’t be able to pardon Jack after he committed some act? (I’m vaguely thinking it was springing the guy from jail, but I’ve blocked out most of the early episodes from S3). I realize this is 24 and logic does not apply, but some explanation, however far-fetched, would be nice.

I know, I should count my blessings that the “Only person Jack can trust” didn’t turn out to be Chase.

I don’t knwo what it is, but this season has the least appeal of any season. Maybe it is because it is 90% new characters, or the fact that there is an idiotic plot device remote control for nuclear power plants…that, by the way, can be hacked fairly quickly. Or it could be the factthat there are two presonal dramas going on at CTU headquarters. Or another mole or mole red herring is in CTU. I just can’t put my finger on it, but this season is getting a lot of “meh” from me.

Aw come on, I think Jack and the prison guard being forced to play Russian Roulette was pretty dastardly.

Anyways IIRC, it was something like this…

The basic idea was that this time Jack Had Gone Too Far, and it would be political suicide for Palmer to pardon Jack. Once Palmer got blackmailed into not running for re-election, a lame duck Palmer was free to pardon whomever the hell he felt like.

Audry was pretty willing to off herself and her dad prior to broadcast.

It looked like a bunch of white guys at the security building, sent by evil white guy that was called by mole woman. There’s no way they’re good guys, nobody could justify killing Jack Bauer as helping the overall good. The guy on the phone told her they’d be killing Audrey and Jack.

When Jack said “CTU is compromised”, I was thinking “No duh, it’s ALWAYS compromised when something big goes down, you should have just assumed it.”

I’m obsessed with the president and his plane. Did they ever say where he is flying to? So far 7 hours in the air (possibly more). I wonder if they’ll actually ever have him on the ground… that’d be funny if they had him flying for all 24 hours straight. Maybe they really will kill him off and have the terrorists blow home up. The reactor thing can’t be the end, that’s all set to be resolved one way or the other by hour 12, either they meltdown or Jack saves the day.

I didn’t mean just moles, there’s always something wrong at CTU that throws a wrench in the gears. Moles, getting blown up, Nina activating a virus, Tony being forced to help bad guys, etc.

The coffee’s really lousy, too.

Now about that budget proposal…

People have really got to let the computer lingo go… the number of people who understand it and know the difference is minimal, so you focus on other things when you’re trying to produce a weekly TV series.

LOL.

I was rereading the thread, and I got a real kick out of it. Someone complained in the thread for last weeks episode, that there were too many nicknames for a casual watcher to follow. I can see what they’re talking about.

I call it “24 Patois”

The first meltdown is supposed to happen in three hours, so there must be something more.

I’d say Audrey is good for at least one more kidnapping before the 24 hours is out.

It’s the Curse of Jack Bauer. She’ll probably die. The woman from Season 2 didn’t. That’s because he didn’t love her enough.

Is it me, or does it seem like CTU doesn’t do any background checks on its employees - three seasons, three traitors or semi-traitors per season. You know, the security guys now wear red shirts - just like the security guys on any Star Trek episode. Maybe that’s why starship security sucks - its the same guys.

I was rooting for Chloe to show up dressed like Rambo, maybe decapitating the bad guy with some piano wire. After all, she is too girly for a gun. Oh well, you can’t have everything.

Man, does everyone come through Law and Order? Tonight’s repeat of L&A:SVU not only has TerrorDad but Shannon from Lost.

I’m sorry, but I’m not going to be able to remember that nickname/label…

Me, too – I keep thinking, “what… is he en route from Zimbabwe to Juneau? Or what?” Maybe he just needed some place to hang while the Oval Office was getting steam-cleaned…

Hey, some of us are programmers here… we can’t help it!

Imagine a doctor watching E.R. or something, and seeing this:

Nurse: Doctor, the patient is going into hydrostatic shock!
Doc: Load 30 CCs of sodium pentathol and charge the defibrillator, stat!

Speaking of which… I thought they were determined to do whatever was necessary to get the info out of him. He still never gave up the goods, who he told about Daddy visiting him. So then less than an hour later, they just decide to quit and send him on his way?

Chloe would have done all that AND tracked the signal back to the terrorist hidey hole, as well as uploaded a computer-crashing worm to their system and contacted the RIAA about their MP3 libraries…

I’m pretty sure that Air Force One can fly around for a pretty long time with aerial refueling.

Hang on, haven’t there only been a total of 3 so far, counting Maryanne (or whatever her name is) right now?

There were two in season one, but none (that I recall) in seasons two or three. Remember, Gael was NOT a mole.

The one thing that seemed odd this episode was just letting SecDef’s son go, particularly after showing him in the opening “previously on”, as if he had continued importance. I wonder if he’ll be back?

All in all, I’m having a blast this season… I’m using my suspension-of-disbelief ray to block any thoughts about power-plant-disabling-devices, and enjoying the ride.

Yes, but we want to know where they are going that is taking 7 hours and counting to get there. Were they out of the country? or going out of the country?

Or are they just flying around in circles because the president’s wife is in a snit about his leaving the toilet seat up?

I just want to know!
