Spare me your sixth-grade Michael Moore logic.
It wasn’t quite so much the “poor misunderstood terrorists” as it was the “terrorists being manipulated by the evil oil companies” angle.
Nevertheless, season 2 still has quite a lot of my favorite moments, although most of them are from “Act I” – the first part of that season. The plot line on the second part wasn’t quite as good in my mind, mostly due to plot holes with the premise.
The first part of season 2 was some of the best “24” there has been. From “I’m gonna need a hacksaw”, to the episodes with Jack and Nina, to the finish of Act I. Episode 15 (10:00 - 11:00 PM) is exceptional, with a chilling ending. Great stuff.
Too bad Act II wasn’t as solid or convincing as Act I.
Speaking of which, what year is it in the 24iverse? Season Three was set when- was it supposed to be right before the 2008 election? Jack has been out of CTU for “a year and a half,” so if I’m right it’s supposed to be spring 2010.
If we assume that the first season (aired in 2001-2002) was depicting the 2004 presidential primary, then it would indeed be 2010 at this point in time. (I believe at some point in Season 3 we see a CA driver’s license with a DOB on it that confirms that it’s 2008.)
I’ve only seen the episodes from this season, and I already decided that. Can I call Jack’s girlfriend Kim? Her real name is Kim, and she played Kim on Third Watch, so…I can’t remember this character’s name. Kim should have a weapon. All people involved with Jack should have weapons’ training. And lots of life insurance.
Was anyone else excited that they figured out that Andy was the kid from a horror movie 17 years ago called " Lady in White"? Same big ears and big eyes. New fake tan skin color, though.
Heh. That would cause great confusion, as Jack’s daughter is named Kim.
