24: Season 5: Episode 10 (4:00pm - 5:00pm)

There’s a HUGE difference between “stood up to a flamethrower” and “has stood up to a flamethrower for a couple seconds so far”.

-Joe

Just a thought…

When the Chechens ran up the Russian Presidents limo, did anyone else think for a second that they were going to(try to) open the door and Kidnap the Russians and the first lady? Or was it just me?

He’s busy shooting lawyers…

Oh no you di-int!!

Pull!
nolo contendere
BAM!

Pull!
habes corpus
BAM!

Nope.

I keep thinking that there’s no way Logan would want someone more competant then him in a position to directly suceed him.

And then I thought better of it.

Well, in 24land they’d be evil, terrorist lawyers…

Like that Amnesty Global guy in Season 4.

The terrorists have Buster Swords? Sweet!

That Staples Rewards program is really something!

No, not just you – I thought it too. Like that Tom Clancy movie where the IRA faction was trying to kidnap one of the royal family, but Indiana Jones saved them.

Fortunately, the limo made a saving roll and resisted the flamethrower. They must have been cranking the AC.

They might have been gunblades too.

Well, there may have been more to it than just the secretary’s call – I suppose they leave that to the viewer’s imagination? I’m sure that Henderson must know about some of the things that are going on today, so on this specific day he may be more on his guard than on any random office day. Keeping an eye out for potentially suspicious things, or people showing up to question him – especially covertly (probably a mode of his own operation as a former CTU agent).

I guess the point is that this guy is not a random thug – he was a former CTU agent, too (I’m guessing field agent like Jack, although they didn’t say for sure) – so he’s going to be a competent adversary for Jack, somebody with similar training and a personal history. I like the idea of bringing this sort of element into the story.

And hey… for all we know, maybe Henderson tasers all his appointments, just to be on the safe side!

Tune in to next week’s show, when we’ll hear President Logan say…

“Mike, I’ve changed my mind. I want to veto that Anti-Pornography Bill that Congress just sent over. And show me how that file-sharing program on the computer works again…”

:smack: Excellent point. I should have thought of that; it’s been 10 weeks for us, but only 10 hours for them so of course he would be on his guard more than any ordinary day.

Clearly the Vice President is Satan Incarnate, complete with large horns, cloven-hooved feet, a tail, glowing red eyes, deep scary voice that makes James Earl Jones sound like a guy who breathed helium, etc. If that weren’t the case, then Aaron or somebody would have done their patriotic duty and offed that little weasel Logan by now.

I just assumed he had a security camera pointed towards his reception room (which, BTW, is bigger than my entire apartment. Christ, a room the size of an olympic swimming pool and all that it’s used for is a table for a secretary?)

Nothing for the CTU guys to hide behind.
Besides, those Uzzis really chew up the furniture. Gets expensive.

Sorry I’m late guys, but I do have a relevant point/question here. (I finally got around to watching the episode last night – busy week.)

We were speculating a couple of weeks ago about whether the guy who stole Lynn’s keycard was going to try to sell it just for money, or whether he’s actually got some in with the bad guys.

My thinking now is, since CTU has removed Lynn from power (presumably on a permanent basis, now that they know he screwed up the intelligence they had on the motorcade), it seems to me that there’s no possible way the druggie could blackmail Lynn for money – Lynn’s been rendered irrelevant. So the keycard seems BOUND to wind up in the hands of one of the terrorists.

Is it just me?
