But why would you need to get schematics of a gas plant from the DoD? Couldn’t you get them from Enron, or the building inspector’s office, or something? Seem like if you have to get info from a mole inside the Department of Defense, it’s got to be something bigger & more secure.
BTW, does it say something about all of us that the Google ads are for ADD?
I had actually suggested a season back that the only way the writers could up the ante for season 5 would be to unleash a plague across America that turned the dead into zombies, and have Jack, David Palmer, Tony, Michelle, and Chloe traveling the highways and byways of post-zombie apocalypse America in a van, helping survivors and solving mysteries (and fighting a lot of zombies with chainsaws and shotguns).
Seriously, when will our government learn that trying to usurp power from CTU only ends badly for the usurpers. I mean in Season 1, Bauer had help from Palmer to do what needed to be done. Now he has to argue just to use a top-secret document (easily retrieved by Chloe) as a bargaining chip against a friendly but easily ticked-off government. Geez.
But the whole process of attacking CTU implies a lot of planning, more then just a few hours. Particulary that whole bit with the keycard. It makes it really hard to buy that there was no thought to this beforehand.
Jack is always “not part of CTU anymore” when the season begins(Except maybe season 3). Then he quickly gets reinstated on some kind of provisional basis.
The whole “I’m not part of CTU” thing is effectivly meaningless when he always ends up rejoining them, or working with them all the time.
Perhaps it’s one of those plots within a plot where the Vice President, or even the Secretary of Transportation is controlling everything in a mad power grab.
What the hell do they do in the two years or so between terrorist attacks? Sit around and read Soldier of Fortune? Make files on terrorists?
I saw the previews from next week when I burned the DVD today; Jack slamming Audrey up against the wall.
You gotta wonder what he was like in High School. Did he get jealous if the girl went out with someone else?
“IF YOU GO OUT WITH THE QUARTERBACK, MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WILL DIE!”
It’s nice to know that in the “24” world that a lot of the problems are bureaucratic turf wars between which agency is in charge of what. Just like in the real world.
Wouldn’t an efficient government just put all the various law enforcement people together?
We’ve seen CTU arrest people and asks for grants of immunity, but who handles all the legal work? Where’s the U.S. Attorney for Los Angeles?
Why bother with a second shift? 98% of the time, they have nothing to do but sit around and listen to “chatter.” I figure that when there is NOT a terrorist attack happening, they work an 8-5 shift, then shut the place down at night.
Maybe they leave one guy to man the phones on a graveyard shift in case something comes up at night.
