Actually, it was used in Season 1. Mandy got the ID from a photographer who was on the plane, and of course he died when she blew up the plane. These credentials were used to get a bad guy (a double for the photog) into the campaign event for David Palmer – part of the assassination attempt.
Mandy’s actions at the end of Season 2 were unrelated to this bit. Just another attempt on Palmer’s life, later on, after he was Prez.
How about 9 hours of a CTU orgy in celebration of thwarting anothet terror attack?

Aaron can really move fast, hey? One minute he’s with the President, 4 minutes later he’s in the middle of the wilderness and able to locate Palmer, even though the terrorists haven’t found him yet and have been hot on his heels for 30 minutes.
Okay. A left field idea. Little real chance of it happening, therefore I mention it as pure idle speculation.
The writing team has been clawing their scalps wondering what they can throw at us that will be least expected. (I mean, Audrey was a shot in that direction, right?)
I see the biggest possible revelation being that all along President Wimpy has been behind the whole scheme and acting the wimp to perfection in order to fool everybody, the audience most of all.
How will they pull off this scheme? By killing off everybody else in the cast! Except Jack who gets to force Wimpy to eat his own limbs, one at a time.
