Well, obviously the nuclear explosion from Season 2 changed the geography of the mid-west.
“In the background there is my favorite mountain in Illinois.” -Crow, MST3K
-Joe, NERD
Everything I wanted to say has been said already. However, there were two people in the car (two got into the car to search for Jack), and Jack killed them both, only the camera confirmed one.
Another great line I almost forgot about, from Martha Logan…
“Mike, dammit, I am the First Lady! Tell your stormtrooper to stay away from me!”
I agree, and not just because there’s a new mole in the office every year. Spencer just had a one-night stand with Chloe. If he wasn’t screwed up before, I’m sure he is now.
Incidentally, and I know this has been discussed before, why does Chloe seem more attractive ever year? Is it just because she’s the only woman who is consistently around? Have we just grown accustomed to her face (or that face she’s always making)?
Yes, there were definitely 4 baddies on the site when the car and van arrived at the site where Jack landed the chopper. Two in the van (sunglasses and baldie), and two random henchmen in the black car.
So definitely 4 kills for Jack in the first hour.
Well, in season 3, she was snarky and annoying and always copping an attitude towards the people we liked – such as Jack and Tony. But in season 4, she was helping Jack, and her snarkiness became more fun, as it was directed at the people we didn’t like – Driscoll, and that other brunette in the office (forgot her name), etc.
In season 3, I couldn’t wait for her to die. But in season 4, I really liked her smart-ass comments towards the other more irritating CTU characters – so she started becoming more likeable.
If Kim were supposed to reappear in Episode 7 that would make her reappearance conveniently coming during sweeps wouldn’t it?
But I think the hardcore fans have fallen for Chloe instead.
I think Monstre’s got the character adjustment down exactly so.
…but that face she’s always making gets my motor running for some reason. I think it’s because it’s vaguely coital.
Someone had to know, because (apart from Palmer,) Michelle, Tony, and Chloe were the only people who knew he was alive and they were all targeted within the hour. According the the Magic Djinn at CTU, the only thing they had in common was that they all called Jack’s cell shortly before he was “killed.”
The actress has two expressions: One of them is “This Smells Like Sour Milk”, and the other one isn’t.
Well, in the Season 5 prelude, Chloe tells Jack that she caught someone in her computer files trying to dig up information on his autopsy. I guess they figured out that Jack Bauer didn’t look anything like that Chinese guy who Jack kidnapped last season.
Did they run it through a high resolution filter?
I don’t know if anyone has brought this up, but rather than clearing his name by some obscure plan to break into the president’s brother’s apartment which is swarming with FBI agents, couldn’t Jack have just turned himself in and brought his girlfriend and her son in to alibi him? Not to menition the dozen or so people who saw him at the job site when he didn’t get day labor.
…must turn back on my willing suspension of disbelief now…
Sure, but then you get a bunch of people trying to kill him!
See, either he’s wanted by the (competent) Evil Shadow Government or by the (incompetent) Misguided Legitemate Government.
What’s that line from one of the “Stainless Steel Rat” books? Something along the lines of “I knew I could handle a dozen cops without breaking a sweat, but a squad of the dictator’s corrupt secret police was a whole different matter”.
-Joe, paraphrasing super-heavily
Wow, we’re already going to need a new thread for tonight’s installment. I wish they’d run the whole season over the next two weeks.
– I think.
A classic line … to follow the other classic “I have a feeling its going to be another one of those days” by Palmer. ((Or something similar))
Im just confused about how BOTH Jack and Derek got out of the van… with out being noticed.
I Figured just before the apprehension of Chloe that Jack wasnt in the van.
However… When Nearly the entire perimieter of the van is surrounded… HOW can they get out?
24 Remains some of the best TV around. However…
“Events occur in real time”
Seems to be a fading memory. For this reason alone… Season 1 will remain the best season of 24 ever.
Also… How can we have 20 more hours… on the current plot!!!
Oh well.
I figured that’s why he told them to go to CTU- they’d be safe there and could vouch for him. But he can’t turn himself in. He’d have to face hours of questioning and bullshit… well, anyway, he’d need to go to the trouble of escaping again, and he’s got to find out who killed Palmer and Michelle and framed him, and why. Plus, he’s in a hurry. It’s a well-known fact that people at CTU who outrank Jack exist only to slow him down.
I’m sure they will be able to provide his alibi, assuming they don’t get themselves killed before they can get to safety. Meanwhile, Jack can’t be bothered with things like sitting in a holding cell and being questioned – it just takes too long and meanwhile the terrorists would get away with their evil deeds, and…
[Jack]I can’t let that happen…[/Jack]
And I wanna meet the guy who thinks he can get Jack to talk. Los Angeles isn’t big enough to hold those balls.
Should one manage to catch him, it would just require the above and some bolt cutters.
