Did you see Ivanka’s tweet calling them “patriots”?
This ends in one of two ways: the Trumps in cuffs or Biden in cuffs. They have begun crossing the Rubicon.

So has USA Today. I think it’s basically over as far as Georgia is concerned.
“Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock both won Senate runoffs in Georgia, giving Democrats control of the Senate.”
Some of those selfies show them stealing statues and artwork and other mementos.
Hey, police, look, white people can be looters too, bust out the rubber bullets already.
They don’t dare. Those might leave a bruise.
I wonder if Mike Pence is thinking some long thoughts about the 25th Amendment right about now.
The officer with the nuclear football is presumably near Trump at all times, so, not even close to the Capitol.
Trump might want to do it but he doesn’t have the support of the Republicans now. Even if he could it would be over quick.
Lester Holt on NBC just said: “if Trump speaks to the nation, we need to think really hard about whether we want to air it given his propensity for spreading mistruths.” Holy crap.
Also, on this:
I saw a tweet from an American journalist working the international beat. She said (and I paraphrase), Hey, my fellow domestic counterparts, when this kind of thing happens in other countries, we don’t call them “protesters.” Get some perspective.
Stop with the “protesters.” This is a lawless insurgent mob.
We do, though.
When students stormed the legislature in Taiwan and occupied the chamber for days, they were called protesters by the Western media.
When Hong Kong students led the protests a year and a half ago, they were dubbed protesters - and they were using Molotov cocktails, too.
I tend to agree that it would probably be over quick, and it’s entirely possible that generals refuse to carry out the orders simply because they just don’t fucking want to enable this piece of shit anymore. But we just don’t know anymore; we don’t know where this ends, and how much damage this will cause.
DC has its own National Guard, controlled by the White House.
Welcome to “The Lost Cause - Revisited”, now with 74 million votes
Individual 1 made a speech. He’s calling the Democrats evil and stole the election, but everybody should go home.
On the upside, when this coup attempt fails (and it will), it will put paid to Trump and Trumpism for a good long time. His followers will still be out there, but any politician who tries to invoke The Holy Name will torpedo his chances in any state in the union, even Alabama. Nothing stinks (politically) more than a loser than a loser who tried (and failed) to overthrow the Government.
Side note: Trump just unfollowed Pence on Twitter.
CNN: Trump is speaking; it’s been taped. Lots about election fraud, landslide victory … oh, and go home and be peaceful.
Go get em.
He is not going to do that. Again, if he does I will apologize to you in the gulag. I agree with other posters who say he should be impeached or have the 25th invoked. Although hell, they might cause more “protests”. No win situation. FOX just said the was expected to speak soon, we’ll see what he says
I wonder if Pelosi and McConnell can organize a quick impeachment and conviction from whatever bunker they are hiding in. That’s another option.
The faster the better. Before he has a chance to issue all those pardons, too.
Including for himself.

Sort of. The District of Columbia has its own National Guard, which doesn’t report directly to the White House. However, as D.C. is a special Federal district, it requires Presidential authorization to mobilize them.
