It’s the same rationale as to why Republicans have never expanded the Supreme Court despite having had the presidency and both houses of Congress from 2017-2018. Because once you cross that nuclear threshold, there’s no going back.
Because they never had to. They had a majority. Why would they bother crossing that line?
I would bet dollars to dimes if Obama had gotten a majority of liberals on the court Trump/republicans would have stacked the court. We have seen no restraint from them whatsoever in breaking norms the past four years.
Stacking they could get away with. Pence (or any VP) refusing to certify the election…I don’t think he’d win that one.
Today is Eric Trump’s birthday. Apparently only Tiffany has acknowledged it. Of course, her tweet about that in the midst of the riots at the Capitol was a bit of bad timing.
Thanks but going to 681 on the scroll bar I don’t see it. Can you go direrecly to a numbered post? The pic was at least a couple of hours ago if not more
The Trumpists planning to object are apparently meeting with each other to decide how they want to go through with this, since presumably their ridiculous objections are now even less popular than they were before. I’d guess they’ll carry through on one objection and then be done with it.
