BLOOD AND ICE!
Reminds me of that meme:
“Had sex for an hour and 40 seconds last night…thanks, Daylight Savings Time!”
Bannon has been indicted for contempt of congress, and according to CNN, an arrest warrant is likely to be issued soon!
Finally.
Alrighty then. About time.
Good. And maybe Mark Meadows will suddenly see the light, as well.
Arrest warrant is out there.
Sweet!
Indicted on two counts: (1) Failure to show his ugly face before the committee (they should be relieved over that); (2) Failure to produce documents.
I just hope they work their way up the ladder. I suppose that’s what’s happening.
This is undoubtedly good news. Note, however, that according to the NY Times:
Each count of contempt of Congress carries a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of one year in jail, as well as a fine of $100 to $1,000.
I suspect he will continue to stonewall and take his chances, on the assumption that he will get out on bail and never receive the max penalty.
He may, but the other people called to testify who may be thinking of playing his game may not be so willing to endure the warrant/arrest/booking/trial/possible jail time stakes.
Many people are saying they are staking out all the neighborhood liquor stores.
Yes, good point.
More jail time:
“The former chief executive of a tech company in suburban Chicago who lost his job after he threw a chair inside the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot was sentenced on Friday to 30 days imprisonment.
U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols also ordered Bradley Rukstales, of Inverness, Illinois, to pay $500 in restitution, court records show.
Rukstales previously acknowledged he stormed the Capitol, threw a chair in the direction of police officers who had been forced to retreat from rioters, was nearby as a melee between officers and rioters broke out and had to be dragged away by officers after he refused to comply with attempts to get him up from the floor.
Though they said the officers weren’t in danger of being hit by the chair, prosecutors said Rukstales’ noncompliance added to the chaos in the Capitol.
Rukstales was forced out as CEO of Cogensia and sold interests in the firm after his participation in the riot became known and the boards of directors for the firm’s clients were ready to cancel contracts.”
Here’s some aftermath:
Here’s an interesting summary of the prosecutions so far. Not surprisingly, the prosecutors are taking deals on misdemeanours to conserve resources for the felony prosecutions.
Prosecutors must love some of these defendants. One of them took a break during the riot to post a picture of himself, adding a big arrow pointing at him labelled “THIS IS ME!”
Maybe the most helpful rioters in U.S. history.
“Love” may not be a strong enough word.
