17 years is a significant sentence. I wouldn’t object to longer, but this doesn’t disappoint me.
I seriously doubt that the prosecutors expected to get the 33 years they were asking for, but would have been happy to get it if the judge agreed. I bet they were realistically hoping for more like 20, so 17 was probably a minor disappointment but tolerable.
And to be honest, probably moot, there will almost certainly be a Republican president who will pardon all the seditionists long before such a term is up “for the good of the nation” saying that enough time has been served for what was just an excess of political energy.
This, seconded. Dude is 38 years old. Assuming he’ll serve 10-12 years before release (WAG on my part), he’ll be about 50 before he gets out. Long time for him to think about his life choices thus far.
Around 14 years. 15% good time in federal prisons.
Maybe Cherry Dilday can bake him a cake with a file in it. And he can watch Wanda Bodine’s “Aerobic Rockabilly Glamorcize” videos in prison to pass the time.

Considering that Proud Boys have a policy of not allowing masturbation (unless within 1 yard of a woman), 17 years is a long time. Maybe the yard is a prision yard.
Do I want to know what “frowns on cargo shorts” are?
It’s a verb with an adverbial phrase attached, not a noun with an adjectival phrase attached. They frown on cargo shorts.
Oh, thank God. I thought it was some kind of obscene graphic. I was reluctant to try to picture it…
BTW, I do more than frown on cargo shorts. I positively scowl at them.
You know, a position just opened up in the Proud Boys leadership…
“I know that I have to be punished,” Biggs said while begging to be allowed to “take my daughter to school one day and pick her up.”
“I was seduced by the crowd and I just moved forward. I was curious. I wanted to see what would happen,” he told the judge. “My curiosity got the best of me and I’m going to have to live with that for the rest of my life.”
“I’m not a terrorist. I don’t have hate in my heart,” he swore.
Boo-effing-hoo! Hey, a-hole: Tell all that to the families of the Capitol Police Officers who died that day or afterward! Enjoy your time in prison thinking about what you have done (and no wanking!).
Look at the article I linked a few posts up. He was one of the guys planning for them to “blend in” with the legions of Antifa they expected so that they could do a suprise attack on them. (I don’t know if it was him but I saw some post at some time where they were wanting to dress up as elderly people with canes and as women with baby carrages and when Antifa and BLM went to physically assault them because they expected weak prey, they would do a suprise attack on them.)
The best part of this is that they all know that they have been abandoned. They really thought that they would be the heroes of the mighty MAGA revolution, risking life and limb to Stop the Steal. Instead, the movement turned out to be a con, their leader is ignoring them and most of their fellow MAGAs believe they are FBI plants or antifa. Rot in prison and think about that, assholes.
Jack rehl got half of the prosecution requested 30 years. He got 15 years. Rehl did attack police officers. Rehl is a member of a phila police family.
Still, a 15 year prison sentence is a big deal. Especially to a privileged fuck who never imagined himself going to prison.
I hope these multi-year sentences are a sign of things to come for the ringleader.
These are not light sentences. If they went by strict guildlines rehl was looking at 30-life for his actions that day.
I hope that being out of the bubble will have them getting out of the cult loop.
Or they could go stir-crazy, and they’ll just fall deeper into the abyss.
I honestly think the opposite - they probably all still believe if Trump is returned to the White House, they’ll all be pardoned. Such is the depth of the brain washing:
I bet this will be a campaign promise of some of the current clown car as well.
So will the other con like him for fighting cops, or dislike him for being MAGA?
If you’re talking about other prisoners, they’ve got grievances that don’t include politics.
