'I did the right thing,' Jan. 6 rioter says before being sentenced to 2.5...
At her sentencing hearing, Yvonne St Cyr did not express regret or accept any responsibility for her actions on Jan. 6, 2021.
The continual stream of arrests and convictions is sufficient to make me retract my wish on the day that the NG would whomp on those assholes.
I really hope a lot of extremists’ and their families’ lives are being ruined, such as to cause like-minded insurrectionists to take notice.
I’ve said similar things. But, there are things about deterrence that make it not work …
What the insurrectionists think -
It doesn’t matter how many times they are shown they are wrong. It’s VERY hard for people to admit how completely wrong they are. The insurrectionists might as well be flat earthers.
Well then, I guess I’ll have to be satisfied with them being flat earthers in jail.
I think you are spot-on. One little quibble…
The “former” President is on their side, and “when returned to the White House”, will pardon them.
I think also playing into what you posted is a culture of never giving an inch to the enemy. To admit you were duped and are wrong is to essentially say the enemy was right all along (the election was not “stolen”), and knowing people on your side (friends, family) will consider you a traitor for agreeing with the enemy is a strong dis-incentive to admit anything you thought or did was not in the right. That’s the thing with this whole election denial thing - it’s very binary at this point.
@enipla was getting into what we might charitably agree to term the « minds » of the insurrectionists.
From that viewpoint, the President lawfully elected in the fall of 2020 will pardon them, when he is returned in glory to his rightful place.
It’s a whole other kettle of shit. But the insurrection happened 1/6. I think Trump could have tried to pardon his entire mob of assholes all the way to 1/20. Trump was still President for 14 days after that mess.
Lincoln did a blanket pardon after the civil war. Carter did the same for draft dodgers. I think that was the right thing to do.
Trump not pardoning his mob, was just Trump not giving one shit about anyone but himself. I’m sure it pissed his mob off. But somehow, Trumps lack of caring about anyone but himself was for the first time the correct thing to do.
Ahh. Yes, I agree.
Trump not pardoning his mob, was just Trump not giving one shit about anyone but himself. I’m sure it pissed his mob off. But somehow, Trumps lack of caring about anyone but himself was for the first time the correct thing to do.
Agree with this, too. And in spite of his not doing the pardon for the mob, they still adore him. Those dim-wits that just got long prison sentences still idolize him. Cult territory.
…Lincoln did a blanket pardon after the civil war…
Nitpick: Andrew Johnson.
Right, duh. And hardly a nitpick. Thanks for the correction.
One of the nuttier nuts from the nut sack gets sentenced.

Good write-up here. In the video she rambles through Sovereign Citizen jargon, and talks about her “in-alleen-able” rights.
"I understood what Jesus felt like when he was in the garden of Gethsemane praying and felt so alone," St Cyr said in a video on Facebook after the sentencing.
Enjoy your martyrdom, dipshit.
As I read this and the second article, I wondered, didn’t she as her family just admit to willful failure to pay taxes? I foresee additional issues for her husband over the next few years. In fact, I had a momentary thought: if (FSM forbid) Trump was elected and DID pardon them, it would be amusing to still see both of them go to jail for tax evasion.
And Jesus sez “Woman, Please!”
Joseph Padilla, 6 years.
“We’ve gotta do it on the 6th or never at all. We have to take over the Capitol Building, immediately pass acts dissolving the current Legislative body, and fill the places with uncompromising Patriots from among those of us there," Padilla wrote in one post in late December 2020.

More quotes from the scrote:
Federal prosecutors have revealed new text messages and social media posts made by a Cleveland, Tennessee man charged in the January 6th, 2021 riot at the U.S.
That guy is one sick puppy. I am suprised he didn’t get more time. Hopefully, he’ll get some help over the next six years, but eff him!
We have to take over the Capitol Building, immediately pass acts dissolving the current Legislative body, and fill the places with uncompromising Patriots…
So he said that they had to perform the ultimate unpatriotic act, and fill the places with patriots?
That’s what the Founding Fathers did: revolutionary actions to take over the government.
