And a man who was captured wearing a Proud Boys T-shirt and holding up the corner of a Confederate flag on the Capitol grounds – according to an FBI agent, citing photos, in a court document – was arrested on Sunday in Maryland, the Department of Justice said.
The document alleges that Bryan Betancur told law enforcement in the past that he was a member of several White supremacist organizations, and stated at one point that he wanted to “run people over with a vehicle and kill people in a church.”
Betancur had been wearing a GPS monitor in connection with a previous probation violation, authorities said, and location data referenced in a charging document against him shows his presence in restricted areas of the Capitol grounds.
The FBI says in an arrest warrant filed late Sunday that a woman who was part of the mob that penetrated the U.S. Capitol earlier this month may have stolen a laptop computer or hard drive from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office with the intent of funneling the device to Russia’s foreign intelligence agency.
The bureau is seeking Riley June Williams, a Pennsylvania woman, on charges related to the Jan. 6 breach of the Capitol, including entering a restricted building, disrupting the orderly conduct of government and engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct.
However, the complaint/arrest warrant filed by the FBI’s Manassas, Va., office, says it is investigating a claim that Williams stole a laptop or hard drive from the speaker’s office. According to one witness, described as a former romantic partner of Williams, the accused "intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service."

This was a treasonous act, even though I’m guessing that the Russians already know everything that was on Nancy’s computer. Hell, they’ve got Donnie in their pocket, what do they need Nancy for?
To paraphrase Donald Trump "They’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
The fact that they just openly photographed and documented themselves while committing crimes would certainly suggest a disconnect with logic and reality.
I’ve observed that one of the strongest vaccines against Trumpism is ego. You really have to have a latent strain of sycophancy to fall into that crowd.
They felt entitled to be there, pushing past barriers and through doors, assaulting public officers and public officials. It’s “their” country, and some of them evens said as much.
These people live in a zero-sum world, which means that if it’s their country, then certain people are necessarily excluded from having the same rights and privileges.
Their belief is in majoritarianism and illiberalism, which can still be expressed democratically but not for everyone.
And I bet the “unknown reason” that the plan fell through was that this woman doesn’t know anyone that has even the most remote connection to anyone Russian, much less anyone from their security services.
All she knows about Russians is that they keep helping Trump cheat, so she figures they’re patriotic like her.
But good on her for running her stupid yap and saying the one thing that could make what she did worse by about 3 orders of magnitude, or should I say “MAGATUDE”.

My next thought was “and I hope it is, for his sake.” Dementia is a terrible terrible disease and I chastised myself for thinking it, even though it was out of mercy. But that’s where Trump has taken us, that Trumpism is roughly on par with dementia.
