A Bowl Full of Paper Clips. The Hold It Together MMP

So the MMP broke your computer’s cherry???

No, I didn’t say that. Someone else must have done it…

MOOOOOM such language! I am shocked! SHOCKED! SHOCKED! My poor delicate ears!

Ok much mowage has ensued. Da cave yahd plus OYKW’s yahd. He actually helped me mow da cave yahd. He GASP used the push mower and mowed a sizeable portion of the back yahd whislt I mowed out front with a push mower and the ridin’ mower. As a matter of fact I have three push mowers. Why do you ask? I finished up the rest of the back on the ridin’ mower. Then, I told him to go shower and chill while I went over to his place and mowed. His yahd is small, so I can mow, edge and clean off the walkway and driveway with the blower in half an hour all by myself. Now I’m all showered and chillin’ with a cold beerverage. AHHHHHH!!! I’s also tahrd. So, “appreciation” will be shown tomorrow. Plus I’m bein’ taken to N.O.L. at the not too bad Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place.

Buttercup (nickname to be applied at some point) welcome to the MMP! All of us are not as potty mouthed as MOOOOOOM. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s true. Some of us (I’m looking at you, swampy & cbear) are much worse.

Why Rosie whatever do you mean! One look at my shiny halo and everyone knows what a little cherub I am.

::snort:: Oh, riiiiiiiiggggght, Swampy. You are *such *an angel.

I, on the other hand, probably have a first row seat on the Hell Express.

Taters, I’m pretty sure we’re all in the first row. At least we’ll keep each other company.

Hope kitty shows up soon, Soapy. Are there any hiding places near your house that s/he might have crawled into?

Watching Crimson Tide. Yes, brother picked the movie. Still good, but not one I would have picked on my own.

Happy Firday night all.

Hugs.

GT

Yeah, till they see the horns propping it up

Been up since 5:20 AM, sippin’ on some leftover java from yesterday. Doesn’t seem to be working. Oh well. Maybe I’ll switch to RC Cola. Once awake, I’ll make my list and head out for groceries and my weekly treat of Mickey D’s drive-thru breakfast.

A sad day here in da 'Burgh. Buccos & Steelers both lost. Maybe having the Antiques Roadshow in town will put the locals in a better mood.

Oddly enough, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (the CFL team I follow) is a stunningly awesome 5-1 and sits atop their division. This after being the worst team in the league last year when their head coach was arrested for domestic violence and he flipped the bird to the other team’s coach when he should’ve been shaking hands at the end of the game. Oh and the entire team went after each other with snow shovels during practice once. What a difference a season makes.

Proudly wearing my Blue Bombers shirt,
Bri2k

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 97 and yet again a forty percent chance of rain. The forecast has said that for the past five days and nary a drop do I see. Oh well, after mornin’ runnin’ around and N.O.L. pool time will be nice.

That’s the beauty of camouflage. No one can see 'em.

Brick goin’ after each other with snow shovels? Now that’s my kinda team!

I need me some more caffiene. I also want real brekkie this mornin’ but OYKW is still snoozin’. Would it be impolite to wake him up to the smell of burly butcher bacon fryin’? Should I wait another half hour or so. Decisions! Decisions!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Also up, but I did sorta sleep in a bit, despite a kitteh demanding skritches. The critters have been attended to and **FCD **decided he wants to snooze a bit longer. So I get some computer time in the quiet.

Nice visit with daughter yesterday afternoon. I’m going to help her in her classroom on Monday - moving the heavy stuff from her old room to the new one. Shouldn’t be a huge job, so yay for that. And she’ll be by during the week to help me prime and paint.

While I was sorting thru some old OLD stuff yesterday, I came across the first electric bills from this place. The biggest one was $85, and that included the fees to set up a new account. Ah, for the good old days - now our bills are closer to (sometimes over) $200. Partly it’s higher usage, what with the aquarium and ceiling fans going most of the time, but mainly it’s because the rates have really gone up since then. The base charge for energy is more than four times what it was in 2004, and almost all the other surcharges have increased, too. Just taxes and the environmental fees have stayed the same. Oh well…

Today’s plans include breakfast out, a couple of stops while in town for errands, then down to the basement. I expect it to be a dirty, dusty day. Good times…

PS, I am not a pottymouth. I’m nice, dammit!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Up, caffeinating. About to go off to get hair cut. Woot.

It’s an exciting Saturday morning, chez GT.

Ugh. I will be mowing the yahd momentarily. I love the smell of distant burning swamps in the morning.

Today, I will be going to the Rescue Squad to take their entrance exam, of which successful completion will allow me to get on the bambilance schedule. I’m overdue.

But first, this is for Rebo and ToiletMan, and other Texans:

Good morning everyone.

Lots of things to do today which will culminate with loading my son’s stuff into the back of my Expedition so we can take tomorrow morning. We plan on leaving around 5:00 in the morning. :frowning: I’m going to miss having him around here. My daughter told my MiL that my son is her best friend and she’s going to miss him terribly.

The weather is supposed turn crappy. No surprise. We haven’t truly had summer here. Usually by August, it’s nothing but sunshine, but we keep getting marine layers which results in clouds. We may see rain this weekend. Bleh.

I read your post to my husband, Bobbio. He was cracking up right along with me.

Back from breakfast and errands. I need to change into grubbies and get down into the basement. What I want to do is sleep - guess my night wasn’t as restful as I’d first thought. Oh well…

I just LOL’d all over the place:

Holy crap! We got rain here last night (Fort Worth) for the first time in forever. After over a month of 100+ temps every day, today it is currently 82 degrees at midday with a predicted high of 86. This is wonderful!

Forecast for the next several days: Sunny, with highs around 104. :frowning:

We’re done with the worst of our chores for today. I did some painting and a little mudding. **FCD **did finish mudding in the whole basement, minus the stairwell. He’s in the shower now and we’ll either go out for a late lunch or I’ll pick up pizza and bring it home. Either way, food is the next thing on the agenda. And about 6 tonight, a guy is stopping by to look at the desk we have for sale. If he doesn’t take it, we’ll be donating it next week. Heck, we got it for nothing ourselves.

Weather radar shows a line of rain heading right for us, and it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow. I foresee mowing next week. Good times…

It’s felt like Texas here for the last few weeks, but the last 3 or 4 days have been gorgeous and cool. It’s a bit warmer today - over 80  - but still much more comfortable than it’s been most of the summer.

Brother has done some weeding. We took a bunch of pots and plant trays to Lowe’s to be recycled. (You just take them to the nursery and they disappear them into the back somewhere.) Also got a new dusk-to-dawn adapter for the porch light. Also stopped to vacuum the interior of my car.

Am about to take some stuff to Goodwill.

Need to figure out what I’m getting for Local Best Friend’s kid for her birthday. Something creative and disposable for a 4-year-old anyone? Friend suggested sidewalk chalk. Fun idea, I think.

Back later.

Hugs.

GT

So…where is everyone?

Back from donation trip. Have successfully wrapped sidewalk chalk, colored bubbles and a book from my collection of kids’ books that is slowly making its way to LBF’s house.

Just need to defilthify before going off to birthday festivities.

Hugs.

GT

We ended up going to Red Robin for late late lunch/early early supper. I got the BBQ chickie wrap - man, it was gooooood! And, as usual, I’s stuffded. Plus my meal was free, thanks to the Red Royalty club card - yay for cheap dinner.

It rained after we left and it looks like more is on the way. Yay for rain. Plans for the rest of the evening will be knit position in front of the TV. Good times.
