I hate when that happens - it’s as if the Pacific Micronesians are taunting me!!!
My sister’s bratty daughter is a copycat - she just announced that she’s pregs! She’s due a month after my daughter. I told her she should have waited so she could be in line for hand-me-downs. Christmas is about to become interesting again, considering the youngest in the family is 27. Guess I need to make another baby afghan.
Other than that, just another day in paradise. I’m glad the election in VA is over, and gladder still that Gillespie lost because he ran a hateful campaign.
Someone out there expected that one. :)
Other than that the elections are over for now and the road crew looks to be taking a day off. No great thrills around here or great surprises.
Good Morning Y’all! Up, caffienated and at the liberry. I went by the nursin’ home to see my uncle. He has no idea who I am. Then again, he has no idea who anybody is these days. That’s dementia for ya. Anywho, ‘tis 65 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 70 and cloudy for the day. It rained some overnight and rain will come again this evenin’. Tomorrow will be rainy and cool. After that, it will be cool both here and at home even though it will be cooler here in Ye Olde Home Towne. I am at the liberry cause well, why not. Plus the computers here are faster than the laptop I use at sis’s place. Sis and I will make a ‘nanner puddin’ and a pound cake for tomorrow’s get together at some point today. Probably this evenin’. Other than that sloth is the plan for the day.
OK, gonna go check out some other things on teh intartoobz and then head back to sis’s place.

I think the baby blanket for my niece’s future bundle of joy should be an easy color choice - they’re kinda die-hard Crimson Tide fans. That poor kid has no idea what he/she is being born into…
Moooom, every few years, my family has a whole batch of new babies. Sometimes, it’s even an intergenerational thing.

I took the morning off to go to the retinopathist. Everything is looking good and I won’t have to go back until May. Had a meeting with my manager to go over what’s needed on our more confined area with records retention. I suggested taking the opportunity to dump the junk (and I mean junk like plastic pumpkins, birthday banners, ketchup packets, etc) that doesn’t belong and cut the need for hard copy space in half. He liked it.
We ordered a couple of shelving units and they arrived today. One is mostly put together and the other will be done tomorrow. I was hoping they’d be big enough for records, but they’re not, so I need something else to put them in - the cardboard boxes just aren’t satisfactory.
We went to the Olde Town Pub for supper, and now we’re in veg mode. Thus endeth a dreary, cold day.
My phone stopped working…again. No dial tone, anyone calling in the phone rings but empty air on the line. Sent the company a…grumpy…e-mail, waiting to hear back. They really need to answer, or I might upgrade from grumpy to angry, and you really don’t want to see me angry.
Otherwise a quiet and cool day. Did a little (very little) housecleaning and made my once-a-month pilgrimage to 5 Guys for dinner.
We supped on pizza and sis is makin’ a homemade ‘nanner puddin’ for tomorrow. I will make mac 'n cheese tomorrow as that does not take long. We shall also have ice cream tomorrow as we have purty bowls in which to put ice cream. Plus, ice cream!
I will give you my day. My clock did not get changed in my office as I was out until today so I left an hour early. When I realized it up the road a bit I called my clerk and she got a good laugh.
Our admin assistant made me homemade chicken noodle soup and it was so good.
My neighbor picked me up a neti pot and we have progress on snot removal. Not so much from the blocked side but progress nonetheless. I am keeping my ENT appt for next Firday no matter what.
Week after next I am flying to Jawja for Thanksgiving and try to see three of my four siblings in 6 days. They all live far apart. They all want equal time. I bought the ticket in July or else I would not be going ala hurricane. It may do me good to get away where I don’t have to look at massive trash piles.
One more irk day and then a three day weekend. Thank you Lord!
has anyone had homemade banana flavored pudding? moms as a trifle like affair that was layered sliced bananas nilla cookies and vanilla pudding in a huge punch bowl …(or 5 quart ice cream tub when she just felt making some)
My brother said he made a single serving portion using banana instant pudding but said between the real bananas and the cookies he couldn’t taste the pudding
