A crumby jelly MMP

Very nice. I’d like to do something like that at the San Diego house.

Went to Trader Joe’s to get chocolate. They didn’t have any of the Pound Plus [half a kilo] Bittersweet With Almonds – or any Pound Plus w/almonds – so I got Wifey Pound Plus Dark Chocolate (w/o almonds). They had three bars of my sugar-free dark chocolate bars; two with almonds, and one without. I bought them all. I also got Wifey some dark chocolate toffee with pistachios, and a box of Cookie Butter cookies. Unfortunately, she says she can’t eat them. :frowning: For me, I got some mixed nuts and some pistachios, and some string cheese and some colby-jack sticks. Then I went to Costco and got toilet paper and chicken breakfast sausage links.

For dinner I had a scrambled egg on toast with medium cheddar cheese and Vegemite, and five pieces of 4505 Classic (chile & salt) Chicharrones.

Back from the Braunschweiger run, 80 miles and 3 stores and have just about everything I need except the Lean Cuisine Fettuchini Alfredo, all the stores seemed to be out of it today, will try again Firday morning when they (hopefully) re-stock. Funds are considerably depleted from the overall grocery stockage and the $94 in gasoline.

Will try to turn in early, still owe myself a long sleep-in, just don’t know when my body will decide to do it. Long as I’m up by noon…

FCM, glad the boat ride went OK. Here’s hoping for a incident-free trip home and then back for FCD, I know you’ll junp everytime the phone rings…

OK, need to finish my last Sudoku of the night and get ready to turn in. All y’all take care.

So Captain Queeg was in a snit again. She seems to think I’m to blame for jams and over loads, instead of unload putting 40,000 pounds on a belt rated for 35k.
Also, had to stop in the middle of the road on the way to work, because there were deer in the road. Within sight of downtown.

So do I. And hope you can swing a Polar vewt visit. Gotta take care of the old man.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARI!!!

{{{{Rebo hubs}}}}

I like it!

I still have an OG Kindle. Get off my lawn.

ONE deer. Puh-leese. There’s always at least 5 of them. They lurk until just after the first one clears the road, then the next ones spring out and destroy your car.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveld. Off to heave.

Actually there are 5 in that neighborhood, the other four were asleep.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (mostly moony?) with a predicted high of 98 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. We shall get shorn this mornin’ and then I shall head over to the church house to deal with candle duty. After that, there will be quality cee-mint pond time, sloth, nappage, day drinkin’, and general uselessness. Sup shall be the delayed grilled chikin sallits with cheesey garlic bread.

Quietly the landscapin’ looks good.

MOOOOOOM glad the boat trip went generally OK. Hope they have a safe and uneventful trip to Flahrduh and back.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother of bothers, I suppose I must needs make myself presentable and venture once again amongst the great unwashed. Woe and despair.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

:astonished: I have been remiss!! :astonished:

I was going to work one dark morning, and came across a clump of 5 or 6 deer just standing in the middle of a narrow country road. They just stood there as I crept closer, but they had the decency to just be blocking my lane, so I accelerated to go around them in the oncoming lane, and that’s when one more of their kin decided to run in from the left, right in front of my van. I hit him, but I wasn’t going very fast, and he got up and they all ran off, leaving me with smashed plastic bits and a misaligned headlight. Stoopit deer. We hates then, we do!

The intrepid travelers are on the road. MIL was up and down all night with a liquid gut - but she refused to delay her departure till tomorrow. So it’ll be interesting. FCD had to disassemble the walker to fit it in the car, so he’ll have to escort his dad to the potty whenever they stop. I couldn’t have gone with them in that car - absolutely no room left! And FCD is under strict orders to call me every time they stop so I can track their progress. I worry…

Today, I have to pick up Roxy after school because my daughter has a Dr appt. Then I need to drive to the marina and check the boat and make sure it’s still tied up - someone worries too much. After that, max chillage shall ensue.

Happy Taters Day!!!

Afternoon, mumpers! It is a glorious 15c/59F and partly cloudy according to the weather app, which also says “Partly cloudy? More like partly cloudy bullshit” which is true, 'cos it’s blue sky and sun from what I can see.

Happy birthday for yesterday, Sari

Happy birthday for today Taters

Happy anniversary Wheelie and Mrs Wheelie

Mooom glad to hear the boat trip was uneventful, I hope the road trip is equally so.

metalmouse welcome home - are we friends on the book of faces? I would like to be, 'cos I do like other people’s holiday pics!

flyboy hope you are feeling better today, sounds like you know what to do to deal with the problem.

quietly landscaping looks fab!

Working from home today, got stuff to do that I don’t want to do because it involves a large can of worms. I left a handover document with two colleagues before I went on leave last month, with details of a couple of exam-related queries that were sitting in our shared exams inbox but I hadn’t been able to deal with. Bearing in mind that our exams schedule was due to be published to students a week or so into my trip, I had left instructions in my handover for what needed to be done. When I came back to work, schedule had been published and I did not ask if said queries had been dealt with as per my document…turns out they had not. Now it is about to become a big old can of wormy stuff. I don twanna!

We are talking about trips over xmas/new year now, apparently the idea of a Hawaii trip has been dumped due to the cost of hotels everywhere we thought we might want to go. Now ‘im indoors is considering San Diego. We went there before, but not at that time of year. Do any of you know if there are many bars/restaurants etc open in the central area over xmas? We are planning to do a trip without involving car hire so looking for places with stuff to do, but using public transport and Shanks’ pony.

Good morning everyone.

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

Happy Belated Birthday, Sari.

Happy Belated Anniversary, Wheelz.

I am glad the boat trip was uneventful, FCM, and I hope the drive to the in-laws’ home is uneventful too.

Metal Mouse, that’s a lot of dang driving for groceries!

Sorry about your can o’worms boofae. I have never been able to count on anyone doing stuff for me while I’m on leave. I used to leave step-by-step instructions, tips, and everything. But, no one did my stuff. I don’t even bother now. In my current job, I just let my supervisor know what’s going on and leave it to her to deal with or not. If it doesn’t get done, then it’s on her. I am resigned to the fact that I will always spend four weeks catching up two weeks of leave time.

I’m getting a hair cut today and I need to renew my driver’s license. Tomorrow we’re going to a wildlife refuge to look at birds and other assorted stuff.

Well, I’m going to finish my coffee and take a shower.

Morning all. Woke at 6am and was about to head back to dreamland when I heard a raspy sound, like a shovel scraping on concrete, so I had to get up at check on it. So of course the sound immediately stopped and has not re-occurred, but since I was fully awake…

And I can’t plan on nappage, because AT&T is due to change my internet service between 12-2pm. Bah.

Taters, I grew up eating Oscar Meyer Braunschweiger and it’s still my go-to sammich. And yes, other varities of Braunschweiger are available, but I can be a fussy eater and the Oscar Meyer brand is the only one I like. But the local stores stopped carrying it several years ago and the only stores that do is Foodland about 26 miles away. But they were about out, so I had to go to another Foodland about 15 miles farther on, where I found it. So lots of miles, but I have my favorite sammich spread through 1 August.

Been lucky with deer, have only hit one in my life, the rest dodged better.

FCM, hope travel goes well (yeah…). Bet it takes two days.

Boo fae, sent you a PM on my Facebook details. Have earlier vacation pics if you want to scroll. Probably be a few days before I motivate myself to post them.

OK, need to forage for sustenance and put the new license plate on the car. All y’all take care.

Buddy’s here later than usual (he’s been in and out several times tonight) and currently seems to feel a need to inspect cabinets in bathrooms and kitchen. At least he stopped randomly roaming around howling (no evidence of injury or illness). Allie was less than impressed when he snuck up on her as she was walking along and tapped her rump. I think he wanted to play, she disapproved with a very loud hiss and swat. He did do an impressive job of catching a flying insect in midair when I happened to be looking.

And he’s back in, hours later than he usually leaves for the day. Whatever his normal daytime routine is (we typically only see him at night) seems to have changed.

Must investigate catproofing the cabinets to keep a certain nosey orange furface out of there.

Happy Birthday Taters!!!

Sorry about the worms BooFae.

Nettie It sounds like he’s considering moving in.

Deer story: My sister and her kids went on a road trip with my folks. She and my mom swore up and down that my dad would NOT drive. So it was that I got a phone call with crying girls in the background, “he hit Bambi”, while my sister was trying to tell me that my dad had just driven over a fawn. She swears that the fawn was fine, but I think there’s some parental white lying going on. “He hit Bambi” makes me cry laughing. Where’s that hand basket again?

Another short story that absolutely sends me: Beamer was doing some homework so he could get some Internet time. He got to the end, and I could hear muttering and then a low, mournful “six”. It sounded almost like a lonely cow. It turns out that he had to write 6 lines on the federal government and that caused him to wail “six”. A whole 6 sentences! The humanity. So now the word “six” also makes me cry.

I thought that I was done with the mortgage paperwork for a while. Har-di-har-har. I just got another list. I know I’ve sent some of this to them already. This will be my day, along with cleaning the litterboxes, straightening the kitchen counters, and making the kids take the trash out. I would like someone else to decide what’s for dinner. I would also like a pony.

Happy Thursday.

This is probably unnecessary and too late for me to chime in, but I agree with this. My mom was hallucinating like crazy with a UTI once - she was literally trying to pick vegetables off the ceiling, saw elephants outside her window (we were on the 7th floor) and thought we were on a roadtrip and kept shouting driving directions at me. I sat at the foot of her bed, pretending to steer for about 3 hours. So definitely any unusual behavior and hallucinations is a good sign to pee in a cup. Anyway, I hope all is well today.

And Happy Birthday, Taters!!

It’s storming right now. The sky is super dark and the windows keep rattling from the thunder. A nap would be perfect right about now.

I waiting around for the frozen chicken strips in the oven to finish cooking - I was hoping to be healthy today but I’m gonna capitulate for lunch. Oops.

The usual heaving and snit-ing. But no deer.

For a while I almost hated vactaion, becaus any recharge I got was used up 45 seconds after I got back. Sorry you’re stuck in it.

Day shift human servants on vacation?

Axe murderer. Don’t open the hall closet. :axe:

Wow, y’all’s stories of UTI-related hallucinations have left me grateful that Mr Rebo didn’t present with that particular symptom!!! That would have freaked me out something fierce!

He’s feeling much better, and is out buying stuff. He found some gen-yew-ine terra cotta pots - big ones! - for $10 apiece! Instead of planting stuff in the ground in the flower beds, we are going to decorate with potted plants. It will look nice I think.

Happy belated birthday to those I failed to wish HB greetings to on time.

OK - back to irk. Urk.

Happy birthday, Taters! :tada:

It’s another really lovely afternoon here: 78°F and partly sunny, with a mild breeze. The temp is supposed to climb into the mid-80s later, but it it stays just cloudy and breezy enough I might not have to turn the AC back on until tomorrow. :crossed_fingers:

I took a little break at lunchtime and snipped some peonies to have on my desk. They smell so amazing! My peony bush is a little weighed down, partly from this morning’s rain but partly it’s a little overgrown. Friends who know about gardening suggested snipping some of the blooms, so I did. (Mine don’t have ants; otherwise they would be strictly outdoor flowers!)

Lately I’ve been having some connectivity issues that seem to be specific to my home computer, and I’m about at my wits’ end. I got desperate enough to start a GQ Factual Questions thread this morning. I’m sure there is a solution and eventually I will find it, but when technology suddenly stops working correctly for no apparent reason it makes me get all :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:.

Afternoon all. Body has been bathed, lunch has been assimilated and the AT&T guy showed up early and has just left me with a new Wi-Fi connection, supposed to be faster and cheaper…we’ll see (does on first try seem to be faster responding). Now have to visit my previous provider and have them cancel their Internet service (keeping their phone service for now).

89 outside and no rain before Sunday. Almost wish I was back in Seattle/Portland.

Oopsie, good luck with your computer, hope the fix is easy.

But I don’t have a hall clo…

Sunny, given Beamer’s story, don’t listen to this (remember I warned you!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCSRI4rzQwI

OK, need to head out and visit the location for my ‘old’ Wi-Fi, then see if the stores have re-stocked the freezers with Fettuchini yet. Have a good Thorsday (it is Thorsday, isn’t it…travel messes my day planner all to heck. Take care all.

Happy Thorsday!

Happy Birthday Taters!

It was a wet morning, but now the sun is sort of shining, it’s warm 75 degrees, and breezy.
It’s supposed to get up into the 90s for the next three days, then drop back down into the 70s.
No park today, for multiple reasons.
The dogs were worn out from yesterday anyway.
Daycare is a blessing.

I got to bed early last night and was sleeping well until bladder call,
That wouldn’t have been so bad except for the motion detector light kept going off and on. It does that for a few days whenever we put new batteries in it. It’s very unnerving when you are home alone. Echo will set it off, but she was in bed with me. If my son is home, I blame it on him.
I’m not worried about anybody being in the hall closet though, there’s no room in there.

Which btw, I found out yesterday that you can get custom made shower curtains made from a picture you send in. Thought of that because one of the shower curtains I saw made it look like somebody was in the shower with a knife.

It was a UTI that sent my neighbor to the hospital for a month.
I never knew they could be so bad.

I’ve hit a lot of wildlife, but fortunately no deer. They were pretty smart and would look both ways before crossing the road.
