I went to the gym. Then I got a call from a former colleague with news of yet another school district scandal. I find that now I’m retired, I get the news/gossip faster than some people who work there.
Started a load of laundry. I just realized I forgot to eat lunch.
Me too. I’m fixing pimento cheese spread on baguette toast and applesauce (unsweetened cinnamon). With an icy glass of diet tonic water, sans gin or rum. If it had gin or rum I’d not be able to go down to the library and pick up my books on 
hold by 6p. Getting cited for checking out while tipsy would be tre embarrassing.
I’m having a very unexciting dish of scrambled egg whites. Yours sounds much better. Getting new library books is one of life’s great pleasures. Happy reading!
Oh, woah. So, this just happened …
I went to the lakeshore for a walk (thanks, Boo for the inspiration!) that really was more of a lazy drive-around, as a mini-celebration that things were moving forward with getting a new job.
Got home a lil’ sweaty and with sandy feet, took a long shower and fixed some tea. I’m in my bathrobe giving the cats some 'nip (“wanna get hiiiigh?”) when my phone rings.
Absent-mindedly answer it, hi, it’s Dispo #2 and can you come by for an in-person interview, say, tomorrow?
I answer “Yes” sort of automatically. I mean, I haven’t OFFICIALLY officially gotten the other job, know what I mean?
But I feel super weird doing this. The money works out about the same. Do I go to the interview tomorrow, knowing that I already signed an offer letter with Dispo # 1? I don’t wanna put my buddy in a weird spot.
I’ve never had two companies “fight” over me before.
TL:DR - was gonna enjoy a relaxing post-shower cuppa tea, now I’m all discombobulated.

Irked, came home and am in for the night. Such excitement!
Sis should be in late tomorrow evening from Houston. She’ll spend the weekend here and go on up north to see Dad. She’ll stop by on the way back too. She’s bringing Nelson’s auntie (his mother’s littermate). It’s Ginger’s first big road trip.
My grandparents had five children over 12 years, all boys, all big, husky Polish - German guys who all hit 6’+ by high school. It’s a good thing that they farmed, otherwise, groceries would have put them into bankruptcy.

shoe, if you have signed up with Dispo #1 like you said, you probably should call Dispo #2 and cancel the interview…unless you think they’re going to make you an offer you can’t refuse, it would just be wasting the time they could be using to find a new person to work for them…IMHO, of course, you do what you feel is right for you, and Big Congrats on the job.
nellie, just as long as you’re not mentioned in any of the scandals…
OK, electric and water bills have been prepared and will be dropped off tomorrow. Will start some dinner here shortly. Looks like the rain has left the area for now, so all is right with the world.

Gotta agree with MetalMouse. If your friend hadn’t paved the way for you, I might say it wouldn’t hurt anything to interview. All other things being about equal, that’s the crucial bit to me. Don’t feel all angst-y about it. It’s just business, and #2 isn’t going to be hurt or bitter. It’s confirmation they were right: you’re a catch. Keep the knowledge that you’re desirable and hire-able in your pocket to take out now and then when you’re feeling low.
Now back to the celebration!
ETA: I missed the part that you’d signed on the dotted line. In that case, I would’ve said no interview for #2 regardless.

Him. Got it. All my kitties have been girls so that it my default. He was a lucky boy and from his picture, so were his people. Gorgeous eyes and dignity to spare.
He was a beautiful boy, and we’ll all miss reading about him. Sending you and Mrs. L.A. sympathetic hugs.
