A Happy Thanksgiving MMP

My Thanksgiving so far:

Pepto Bismal

150 mg of Zantac.

This is not a preventative measure. I feel like someone is stabbing me in the intestines with a turkey carving knife. :frowning:

Good morning all. We were supposed to go to the old folks’ house today, but hubby brought me home a present from work… a stinkin’ cold! We can’t risk taking it to his parents who are in their 80s and already not in great health. That means I’m going to have to find something to cook or somewhere to eat out.
I feel miserable and don’t really even want to eat. Hubby, on the other hand, is on the mend and is already starving. Maybe I’ll send him off in search of his own dinner and I’ll go back to bed.

Have a good day and don’t eat yourselves into a stupor!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have enjoyed our yummy breakfast of blueberry pancakes and bacon. Since we’ve postponed turkey day until tomorrow, today will include the dog park! It’s a lovely day, nice and cool.

waves at Brick fancy you here in my neck of the woods…

Yay for healthy boobies and other good news!

Awww, **Swampy **HUG missed you too!

Feel better, shortdrum!

A very happy Turkey Day to yunhz’ and lots o’ love!!

Hi all!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Coming up for air- dinner is chugging along. My daughter and I made a pumkin pie, and made little decorative cut out leaves and pumpkins out of pie dough to decorate the edge of the pie. It look adorable!

Hope everyone is have a marvelous day, whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not!

Sorry about your troubles, shortdrum. That doesn’t sound like fun. Glad your mom is doing better, though.

Get well soon, picu.

Hmmmm…good question, Ashes. I’m sure someone important lives there, but who?

Hi Brick! Nice to have you in the neighborhood.

I’m one of those who has been in the kitchen. Just threw some brownies in the oven because nephew doesn’t like pumpkin pie. He does like real whipped cream, though (I am a whipped cream snob. Sorry. Well, not really. But there it is.).

Most of the dishes are done, so I’m going to take a shower and get read to go to Local Best Friend’s.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Have I said what I’m grateful for yet? All of you are way at the top of the list, along with my family and non-imaginary friends.

Hugs all.

GT

Happy Thanksgiving!

The roast is in the oven. I forgot I broke my usual dish last year, so I’m using a large casserole dish instead, which gave me room for plenty of onions.

I drove over to Santa Cruz this morning because I wanted to see the ocean. An old family tradition: Get your coat, we’re going to the beach. That’s the **real **difference between Northern and Southern California. It was drizzly and the ocean was very picturesque.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Everyone here is napping but I am wide wake and bored! Lunch was goooooooood everything came out super and I am thankful I got to spend it with my mom-in-law as she probably won’t be around next year. I am trying to stay out of thexway given I still have this awful cold bug thing going on and I don’t want her to catch it.

Yay for healthy boobies and spot removal!

I am posting from my phone so excuse any typos.

My intestines decided to stop being jerks just before it was time to eat. I had a really nice meal and no pain. Total win-win situation for me!
We discussed the niece and nephew christmas thing and decided 7 adults and 7 children. We each get 1 kid, $40 each. Sweetie’s brother is being a bit douchie about it, talking about how he’d take a few extra shifts to be able to afford nice gifts for each kid - not realizing that it’s not an option for everyone, especially since I don’t even have a job. The amusing part of the whole thing is that Sweetie’s brother is the biggest cheapskate when it comes to gifts. He’s the kind of person who once gave his nephew a $15 gift card for Christmas while each of his 4 kids got $50 or more toys and then couldn’t understand why his nephew was heartbroken. Yet, he’s the one who expects us to pay hundreds of dollars to buy presents for all the kids. I spelled it out pretty clearly. Either each kid gets a shitty $15 gift or each kid gets a nice $40 gift. Sweetie doesn’t like it either but at least he understands.

Nothing like a migraine to take the fun out of cooking. Thanksgiving has been postponed and I really wanted dressing and NOT.

Everybody have an extra helping for me!

Howdy Y’all! I trust all the Amurrkin dopers have had a nice day and eaten lots of turkey day foodstuffs. I did! Everybody ate waaaaaaaaaay too much, drank too much, laughed large and had a good time. Then they all went home. YAY! Dishes are washin’ away in he dishwasher. Bear is tahrd.

We haven’t eaten yet, but soon.

I just found something on another board that I thought some of you might like, so here it is:

Grace

Thanks & blessings be
to the Sun & the Earth
for this bread & this wine,
this fruit, this meat, this salt,
this food;
thanks be & blessing to them
who prepare it, who serve it;
thanks & blessings to them
who share it
(& also the absent & the dead).
Thanks & Blessing to them who bring it
(may they not want),
to them who plant & tend it,
harvest & gather it
(may they not want);
thanks & blessing to them who work
& blessing to them who cannot;
may they not want - for their hunger
sours the wine & robs
the taste from the salt.
Thanks be for the sustenance & strength
for our dance & work of justice, of peace.

Be happy. Be safe. Laugh and love much, my friends.

Home, still stuffed, clad in robe and slippers - yay. It was great seeing my friend again. Dinner was fun and… um… interesting conversations abounded. But I’m glad to be home.

Just had to share this little line, from an email invitation we received from our marina staff for a pot luck party. “So join us for a Joya’s evening .” I’m assuming they meant joyous, but maybe there’s a boat in the marina named Joya??

Many kisses and hugs all around. I am most thankful to know all of you - even that wacky bear…

Fixed that for ya.

The Heiress and I are in Vermont, celebrating T’giving with her family. Lots of aunts, uncles and cousins in the house, as well as two dogs who haven’t quite between them yet decided who’s the alpha. A great feast early this evening, and now people are reading and playing games. Good times.

Just got home. Tired but it was a good day. Got to see the Terrible Iggy Dammit get emasculated by a 2 pound, 10 week old chihuahua. It was very funny.

Bedtime for me. I’s playing daylight bambilance tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving to you late-celebrating south of the border types!

Right, that’s over with, now down with the turkey decorations and up with the Christmas Cards for Doper Kids promos!

This sounds somewhat like my morning. I ate breakfast and it promptly returned out the same way it went in. Fortunately that was it and I felt fine the rest of the day.

I had a really great Thanksgiving today. I hope you all did, too!
Back to the damnable and accursed homework tomorrow.

Home and stuffed. Twas the traditional Thanksgiving meal, deep fried turkey, mashed N.O.T. ,sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, Ocean Spray can shaped cranberry sauce. No deviled aigs, though. “Just friend” even made me a plate to take to work tomorrow.
