Things I watched on TV tonight
[ol]
[li]Scrubs rerun[/li][li]Good Eats rerun[/li][li]Little Miss Sunshine (very funny)[/li][li]The Riches (I’ll give it one or two more episodes - I like the cast)[/li][li]different Good Eats rerun[/li][li]Will and Grace rerun[/li][li]Friends rerun[/li][/ol]
Places I drank beerverages today:
-
Some place in Nogales (the Tijuana of Arizona), 'cept in Messico.
-
The Cantina in Tubac, some artist’s colony in AZ
-
My mom’s place
-
The bad restaurant we ate at. (Correction: I had a margarita there)
-
The Sports bar I met troublmakr at last year that’s by my mum’s.
-
My mum’s again. Now, in fact…
Random other list of funny/intersting things I learned and/or discovered: -
I took a picture of a bathroom door in Messico today that when I have time to post it, I must.
-
My daughter drank two (dos in messican) margaritas today, and proved herself a wimp and barely worthy of my legacy.
-
“H2O” will not fit in a crossword puzzle, as “2” is not useful in that context.
-
Never EVAH rely on my mum for directions around anywhere in Tucson, most especially the immediate area of her own home.
-
Young Messican perverts find the Kid all tasty and hot. Several have died of ogling disease.
-
People in Arizona are, as a rule, old and drive accordingly.
-
The De Anza Restaurante & Cantina, in Tubac might be a fabulous place for a beerverage and a snack, but do NOT go there on Mondays, as “it’s been a rough weekend” and they are out of EVERYTHING, and by that I mean: iced tea, Corona, Pina Coladas, strawberries and guacamole.
-
When you walk at night with the Wife, and you pretend to hear or see a javelina or a coyote, or even a large cricket, she WILL squeal like a baby and run back to my mum’s.
My top ten favorite beers:
- Nest White Ale
- Oak-aged Yeti
- Witterkerke
- Hopff
- Orange Blossom
- Indiga
- Asahi
- Killians Red
- Heineken
- Corona
I am not wearing pants.
Life in My World
1: Yesterday it snowed all day, even though the sky was only partly cloudy and the sun was shining brightly.
2: It is currently 20F, and the temp is gonna drop into the teens for the rest of the week.
3: My kids are on Spring Break (it is to laugh) and my son was irritating me. I told him to go outside and begin picking up the yardfull of spruce cones. I forgot the ground is covered with snow.
4: I am jealous of BionicalMamaTigs as she is sounding so much better, and I have to go back to the doctor in the morning for the stupid infected cat scratches. It has now been four Mondays since the cat launched herself from my arm, and the doc is upset that it isn’t healed yet…she’s upset??? :dubious:
5: I am very happy to hear that BionicalMamaTigs is healing so quickly and is feeling better.
6: SCL we have a crack cat too… Black Jack On Crack. Sometimes he freaks out, and has sent some of my houseplants sailing. He has tried to kill two blooming African Violets and reduced my Angelwing Begonia to a stalk. They have survived, and so has he…so far!
7: I am going to have a slurpee and cardboard pizza (the frozen supermarket kind) for dinner. I truly must be ill, I don’t eat that stuff, but it’s the only thing that sounded good. Actually the slurpee really sounds good (fighting dehydration), I will probably feed the pizza to The Son.
8: I will then take meds and watch tv until I fall asleep.
Whoop-de-doo, my life is soooo exciting!

Oi, so many colored things! All for me? Thanks, guys!
Last week was a coworker’s birthday and she brought croissants and two cakes she’d baked herself. Since I can’t bake, I bought Napolitanas instead. They’re little chocolate bars, about the size of one of the individual rectangles in a normal bar.
One of my office mates, from whom I’d previously heard maybe two sentences in three months, gave me a list of places I have to visit in Switzerland:
- Geneve
- Lucerne
- Geneve
- Zurich
- Geneve
- The south
- Geneve
In case anybody wasn’t paying attention, he really loves Geneve. He thought it’s a great idea that my family is coming for Easter and suggested taking them to Geneve, which is beautiful and has many things to see and is the world’s goldsmithing capital - aaaah, no! Not with my Mom!
You see, Mom is, on one hand, a world-class tightfist (Catalans call this el seny, the business sense); on the other, sometimes she sees something shiny or goes and buys something without asking for the price first (la rauxa, the madness, also used for when it’s holidays, since holidays are a time when you’re not supposed to ask “how much” before saying “gimme that one”). So she’ll squirrel away a bit, a bit, a bit… for months, and then go and spend €600 on a pair of glasses. That’s what she gets in a month :smack: Given the way she behaved in the jewelers in Prague, I do NOT want to take her to Geneve. Otherwise I’d have to spend the next three years getting the woman out of hock
Things my feet smell like:
-
happy toes
-
fresh socks
-
shoepolish
Also a very happy birthday to Nava!
Things that I love:
-
The first day of “over 70 degrees” weather (that would be today!)
-
Noticing that I failed to pull out all the tulip bulbs from the bed, so I’ll get spring flowers in that spot even though I didn’t think I would!
-
My newest kitty (who knows about boys) flirts with my only boy kitty
-
It turns out my plow dude also does driveways, so I don’t feel like I’m going to be ripped off on the new one I’ll be getting soon.
-
My SIL whose been wintering in Sedona sent me a “miss you” card.
-
I’m joyfully anticipating lunch with my dad and oldest friend on Saturday.
More randomness:
-
Sorry to hear the uncle is wackier than thought, Swampy. Do you or Sis have an attic handy?
-
The forecast is 73 Amurrkan today.
-
No EMT class tonight, so I have a day off.
-
The NerdMobile is back in the shop, getting part deux of the necessary engine work. The Family Truckster gets the same thing next month…
