A Listful MMP

Since I’m driving my librarian friend around this week, she offered to take me to dinner. She was craving the tempura crab at a little Japanese place we found one night when Thai House was full. So she asked me this morning if I would like to go there for dinner. I have been dreaming of tempura crab all day. I am now wonderfully full of crab and teriyaki chicken and shrimp.

There will be a mini-Dopefest this Saturday - Tripler, Nawtha Chucka, Bear Nemo and his wife are coming to the hockey game Saturday night. I tried to get our very own Swampus Bearus to attend but he has church cookin’ to do that night. The game is a complete sell-out, so it should be lots of fun. I’m excited because this will be the first time I have ever met other Dopers in real life. I am certain adult beverages will be consumed once I am finished with my Booster Club responsiblities.

I keep forgettin’ I ain’t at da cave, so I read the MMP then want to post and then get told I gotta sign in first. Duh!

Unc is hidin’ from us. He was not at “work” (quelle surprise!) and is not answering his phone. I went to his house twice and no answer. Tomorrow is throw down time. I’ve already warned mom about this. It is put up or face whatever legal consequences there may be (can you say competency hearing?) if he is not forthright. Dammit, I did not want to bring the hammer down like this but if he wants to call my hand, well call my hand called is all I gotta say. I should have some really good stuff to say tomorrow.

Tigs yep that’s me with the two cousin Larry’s. Hoot ain’t it! Oh and Jake staple removin’ etc. pics! Did you tell doc you were gonna share 'em on the internet?

Nava perhaps the problem is that unc is a zombie. There’s gotta be some kind of explanation for the strangeness.

Taters yeah me too. Like I said, plain. white. trash.

Snakes somebody’s gotta make Irish stew and drink all that green beer!

Ok, now for the list…

  1. Mom now has a free antivirus in case I forgot to mention this earlier.
  2. She has had lessons in how to run a virus scan.
  3. Mother’s and computers are a good reason to drink.
  4. There is this southern home cookin’ place called Fried Green Tomatoes Buffet. It is teh nummy! We went there for lunch and I’m still full.
  5. I helped mom find a curio cabinet she’s been wanting today.
  6. My BIL and I had to go fetch said cabinet when he got off work.
  7. It looks great in her dining room.
  8. I’ve had several beerverages at sis’s house.
  9. Is anybody else havin’ as much fun as me makin’ stuff into lists?
  10. Nitey nite y’all!
  1. For Nava (hope you get to see this sometime soon):
    Feliz, feliz en tu día
    amiguita que Dios te bendiga,
que reine la paz en tu vida
    y que cumplas muchos más.

  2. Is everyone cutting working peeople off from the internet?

  3. So, is Opal ever going to stop by? She’s been greeted so often at this point, she really ought to.

  4. Al, surely you can manage to reinstate Meli on Thursday! That way she can make lists of her own. So when’s her birthday?

  5. swampy, will you be having a martini this evening? Perhaps shaken and not stirred? Sorry about Uncle Marty’s situation. The two guests sound like trouble to me too. Just saw your second post. OK, not really shocked, but that’s just so sad. Uncle Marty is very lucky to have such a caring and competent nephew there to take charge and - I hope - keep his life from getting more messed up than it already is.

  6. MBG, next time you go visit Mom, we’re all coming along. I wanna vacation!

  7. I might be going to Chicago in early September. (Sometime between the 8th and the 14th.) Faraway Best Friend will be traveling there with some high school kids. I’ll try to plan things so that I have time to meet up with Dopers too. MBG, rigs, LoW and anyone else I’m forgetting: consider this your early warning. (Maybe Friday evening September 7?)

  8. QD, one of many many things we know about you is that you like to make lists. Tell LiLi we miss her. How are all the husbands? (Especially Driving, since he’s of particular interest to you.)

  9. I’m tired and should consider bed. It’s much harder to respond to people’s posts when everything has been lists. But it’s amusing.

GT

Got caught by the 5-minute window on my second edit, so:

P.S. Almost forgot: cool pics BioTigs. It’s almost like watching TV surgery stuff (but less gross).

Also, I do know that the number following 8 should be 9.

Today I:
[ol]
[li]Took out the recycling[/li][li]Washed the dishes[/li][li]Read my professional organization’s magazine - Professional Development![/li][li]Defragged the computer, so it’s running much better now[/li][li]Built Rome[/li][/ol]

Happy Birthday, Nava!

!. I completed my earlier list.
2. My team won
3. My favorite player scored the winning goal
4. I have been nominated for the Booster club board. :dubious:

Things to do before my 4/23/07 surgery
[ol]
[li]Give a pint of my blood (in case I need it later, which I will)[/li][li]See a doppler specialist who works with my surgeon to get a base line look at my lower extremities[/li][li]attend a class on what to expect[/li][li]give another pint of my blood[/li][li]take a tour of the renovated rehab facility[/li][li]make sure they have online access[/li][li]give a third pint of my blood[/li][li]give a copy of my keys to my catsitter[/li][li]buy a few sudoku books[/li][/ol]
There’s more, like organize my suitcase of stuff for when I transfer down to rehab.
Maybe I’ll take up knitting…

What position have you been nominated for? I’m running unopposed for Corresponding Secretary of our BC; this will be my second term. It has it’s moments of being a pain in the butt, but it is fun.

Hi. I thought I’d wander back in here and eavesdrop on your lives again.

Lists, huh?

Things I forgot to do this week:

  1. Wash my spring jacket when I did laundry yesterday
  2. Mail my credit card payment today
  3. Buy socks while at the store today

Things I remembered to do this week:

  1. Change my clocks on Sunday
  2. Get up in time to go out for pancakes on Sunday
  3. Do laundry yesterday
  4. Go to doctor’s appointment today
  5. Buy toilet paper while at the store today
Since List 2 is longer than List 1, the week is going good so far.

Oooh… will we have a little MMP Chicagofest? That would be awesome.

Oh, um… oibligatroy dunrken poist saying how much I love youall!

Er, not really. I mean, I am slightly drunk but still sober enough to spell, unfortunately. We had a few beers and played darts.

Good night my lovelies! Muah!

Oh man, I’d love a Chicago mini- (or maxi) Dopefest! September 7, though, may be the only day I’m NOT going to be available, though. I have a faire in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin that weekend.

On the upside, hey swampy! Look, I said “beaver”!

SCL, I think it is an at large seat. See what happens when you miss a meeting?

LoW, <snerk>

Todays list:

  1. work
  2. laundry
  3. walk dog
  4. dinner
  5. ???

Morning all! Excellent knee pics, BioTigs - makes me wish I’d still got copies of the pics from my surgeries to impress everyone with!

Kai - hope your poorly arm is starting to heal at last, haven’t seen you around for a while.

00Ursus - how goes the Uncle mission? Great detective work, I think you might have found your next job.

Has everyone got their exams and papers out of the way? Can we do the happy dance now? I posted off my paper on Monday so it should be in my tutor’s sticky little mitts by now. I hope he likes it because it’s the last one of mine that he gets to grade. The final one goes direct to the Uni centre for independent adjudication so I hope they’re feeling charitable!

We went out last night to see a band called GWAR - all I knew about them was what I’d read, never seen them before and never heard any of their music. I was just warned that we should stand well back from the stage! It was great fun, I haven’t laughed so much at a semi-serious band for ages. When it came time to leave, we saw the state of the people who’d been standing near the stage - not sure what they were covered with but it was very red and some of them were absolutely drenched. I pity the cleaners, those guys were leaving a trail of squelchy footprints all the way out of the hall.

Am all tired today for some reason but hopefully it’s going to be a quiet day and I can work up the energy for the usual Wednesday night beerverages. It’s a hard life.

Things I consumed today:

Coffee - 1
Crackers with spinach and ricotta on them - 4
Nectarine - 1
Diet coke - 1 can
Rice and vegetables - 1
Heaven Icecream - 1
Bananas - 0 (someone stole them all :p)

How I spent my night off from EMT class:

  1. Washed the dishes
  2. Sprayed some Agent Orange (N. O. 00S) on The Jungle[sup]TM[/sup]
  3. Took out the trash
  4. Made fajitas for din-din
  5. Watched the Tivoed Battlestar Galaxative episode
  6. Went to bed

For today
[ol]
[li]finish getting dressed[/li][li]order coffee and breakfast[/li][li]go to work[/li][li]consume coffee and breakfast[/li][li]see doc for first of many pre-surgical tests[/li][li]consume more coffee[/li][li]leave work[/li][li]go pay speeding ticket forom August 2001[/li][/ol]

Good morning!

  1. Wake up.
  2. Feed dogs.
  3. Let dogs out.
  4. Drink coffee.
  5. Let dogs in.
  6. Finish coffee.
  7. Take shower.
  8. Scrub mildewy spots in shower with (old) toothbrush and Soft Scrub that I left on overnight. It looks white again!
  9. Get dressed.
  10. Drive to get more coffee.
  11. Drive to work.
  12. Read email and MMP.
  13. Think about starting work.

Wow! I’ve accomplished a lot already! I think I’ll take a break.

Good morning! I offer my list of things to do today:

  1. Finish packing.
  2. Go to the Dartmouth library and withdraw House of Leaves.
  3. Go to the ATM and withdraw Twenty Dollar Bills.
  4. Go to the local burrito place and withdraw Lunch to Go.
  5. Go to the train station and withdraw To New Jersey.

I don’t want to seem withdrawn, but there you have it. Oh, I just realized I never posted yesterday’s pun:

No pun today, since I’ll be travelling all day. Double punnage tomorrow! I know you’re excited.

Ooooo, I can see it now! Swamp Bear…Gay Bounty Hunter!

Cool pics, bio tigs! Have you scratched yet?

Very busy morning with department head and one team leader out. The CEO thinks I see and know all.

Tonite I get to go with The Princess[sup]TM[/sup], recently engaged, to look at bridal gowns. I am only partially enthused. While I am happy for her, I am that mom who thinks no one is good enough for my daugher. Of course she does not know this. I will probably end up ruining my eye makeup because she will look so beautiful it will make me cry.

That is all for now.

Tupug

I hate making lists and refuse to do so.

<yawn>

Mostly I’m just lazy today. Mornin’ y’all.
