That’s my bed (with dustbunnies underneath) and I’m headed for it. I am just home from work (wasn’t this supposed to be the --excuse my language–the pussy cakewalk job? I was there for 12 hours, with help! We got our asses kicked, almost literally. I had a [del]princess[/del] pt who *threw her crutches at me and yelled and screamed obscenities *like a sailor-banshee. I was lucky to not take a crutch to the head. And then another pt --well, suffice to say, it was an arduous day.
Food foraging for tomorrow and then I’m not doing shit and no one can make me.
Is it wrong that I’m really enjoying the description of your battle with the rhinovirus, Mork? I do hope you feel better soon, but in the meantime I’m giggling as well.
Glad you’re doing better, FCM. Once you’re done at your place, could you please bring the whole crew to my house? Pretty please? I have dark chocolate…
Hope everyone is having safe trips.
Yay for the non-cancelled class, Soapy!
I went on a tile hunt - a bit prematurely, but my excuse is that I’m planning ahead. There’s an exterior window on the side of my house that used to be the bathroom window. Whoever did the original work put contact paper faux stained glass on the inside of one of the windows and left the other one plain so that you can see the insulation between it and the shower surround etc. I’ve been pondering how to cover it up and came upon the idea of putting a mosaic over the glass. Doesn’t seem terribly difficult and would look much better (it’s in a kind of odd place so almost no one looks at it, but still…I know it’s there and I’d like it to look prettier). I haven’t measured it yet, but the lower pane is about 2’ x 2’ (probably a little smaller than that) and the upper pane is divided into 6 (I think). I’m thinking they’ll be small tiles in neutral colors. Not sure just yet, though. Might buy a trial supply of tile and do one little pane to see if I really like the look. Any other ideas about how to deal with this?
Guess I should consider crawling into bed. I’ve got lots and lots to do tomorrow. (Garden, laundry, sanding and painting. Yay!)
I’ve been looking up spa packages - my mom’s birthday is coming up and she rarely pampers herself, so I think a day at the spa might be a good way to indulge her. Just reading the descriptions makes me want to go to one RIGHT NOW.
Late last night I found out that my dad’s in the hospital. He should be ok, but he’s very frail so you never know. I had trouble winding down, thinking about this so I went to bed late.
I went to bed at some point and had trouble falling asleep.
Finally fell asleep, when my daughter had an accident (round 2:30) and came into our bed. My husband went to sleep in the guest room.
Around 3:15 I woke with a start thinking I heard a scream outside. At that moment my dog started barking at the window, so I was concerned that it wasn’t just a dream. Woke husband.
We both checked things out, found nothing, but I was too wired to sleep. So he sat up with me downstairs on the couch. He dozed and I lay there and daydreamed ( - odd word for 4 in the morning, but I wasn’t asleep…). Finally, I suggested we go upstairs, so we both went to sleep in the guest room.
Wow, that does not sound like a fun night, Soapy. I merely went to bed too late and woke up a bit too early. But I’ll get to take a nap later, if I’m so moved.
I’ll accept a spa package, too, Haze, since you’re buying…
I’ve rounded up laundry, had breakfast, and am about to go outside to do stuff in the garden before it gets too hot. Then I’ma go buy me some more daylilies and then come back to work in my room. I want to have the walls painted by tonight. Quite exciting, no?
Heading out in a little bit. The ballet last night was disappointing, and rather boring. I don’t think ballet is for us.
Now we have to go and dance attendance on a two year old for a day. I swear that kid rules the roost. Sure, she’s cute now, but she’s going to be spoiled rotten.
You know you were dukrn when you post in igpay atinlay anday on’tday ememberray itay.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. I need some brekkie and purtification cause sis and BIL are on the way. They called me from Columbus (the Jawja one) where they stopped for brekkie about a half hour ago. So sometime in the next hour they will be here.
Awoke to pouring rain. Am still tired despite a full night’s sleep. Had horrible last dream about a young (2-ish) boy being tortured by a nasty man–where in hell does my brain come up with this shit? A Freudian would say I have Issues. Well, I maybe I do, but child molestation wasn’t one of them.
Off to grocery store soon and then maybe library for #2 son. And then nothing–maybe a DVD. I am so very tired of everything.
morning all! Glad to see that Swampus is doing okay and hopefully enjoying the visit of his sister and BIL.
Sending get well thoughts to Mork - ninja viruses, very interesting. Hope you’re feeling better soon, though!
I just finished a brekkie here that included home fried potatoes made with the new red potatoes I got at the farmer’s market on Sunday. They were delicious, btw. I don’t cook as much as I used to and sometimes I do miss it. It’s hard to be on my feet for long periods of time, though, and especially bending and standing over a hot stove. The end result, though, is usually worth it.
Not much on the agenda today other than laying low and trying to stay cool. It’s code red again.
Wow, I finally got caught up and now I can’t remember all I wanted to say.
I’m starting a remodeling project of my own. See, I can’t really afford this place all by myself, so I need a roommate. In order for a roommate to have a room, I need to build one, as this is currently a one bedroom house. When it was first built 75 years ago it had 3 small bedrooms and a tiny living room. In the 70’s they remodeled and modernized. They made one large bedroom and a small pantry out of the 2 rear bedrooms, and made a large living room out of the small one and the front bedroom. Follow all that? What I want to do is knock out the pantry, and re-build the wall that divided the 2 rear bedrooms. I am also considering partially re-dividing the living room at some point, so a roommate would have use of 2 rooms, maybe. Wow that sounds like it might be a lot of work, but I think once I finish getting it all prepped this weekend, my brother and I should be able to put up the wall next weekend and I can do the finish work (paint, baseboard, etc.) the following weekend. At least I don’t need to pull wire or install heat ducts.
I was going to try to be productive before this room got too unbearable but I got distracted by stoopit flash games.
Now I am wilting rapidly and must go back to a room with circultin’ air.
I may be back this evening when the room is cooler
Now that sounds like my kind of wedding Mr. Bus Guy! I am attending a semi-formal attire wedding on the BEACH! Not a pretty tropical beach either; on the Washington coast here in the PNW.
Speaking of which, I need to get my ass in gear. I have to shower, iron our wedding attire, pack, and hit the road.
The drive should be nice, but unfortunately, I now can’t open my driver side window. I don’t know if the fuse is blown or the motor has gone to shit. We’ve had problems with the passenger side window for awhile now, but the driver could at least open and close that window. However, now the driver side window has gone to shit. Dammit, this rig is only a couple, three years old! I’m going to have to try and get it in the shop next weekend.
I don’t know if I’ll have time to pop back in here, so if not, see y’all tomorrow.
Hi, all! Been up for ages and been working almost as long. We finished the sheetrock in the closet, and we’ve just about finished the ceiling in the bathroom. Once we get the bathroom walls up, we’ll be bringing down the 12’ panels for the bedroom and living room. Busy busy!!
I’m very motivated - at least for a little while. So I’m back to work. Laterz!!!
