A Monday without an MMP is like . . . (a substitute MMP)

Sideways is actually easier to confuse because there’s a triangle of fabric in front that looks pretty much the same right-side-up or tipped to either side. But the back is much smaller than the front so it’s very noticeable if you try to put them on backwards. It really makes a lot more sense than it sounds like. Or maybe I’m just crazy. But at least I’m not the only one here who’s done it!

Beautiful kitty, mmmmms!

Jah, I think it’s a lot more tiring to sit at work all day with nothing to do than to be busy all day. I’ve had jobs with nothing to do, and they were so exhausting. If I’m busy, I’m much more likely to go home feeling excited or invigorated than if I’ve been bored. It’s really draining.

Glad you’re ok and just busy Special1. We were getting worried about you!

Could you send some of that bread and maybe some stew this way LiLi? It sounds really good!

Know what’s bad? Missing your bus stop.

Know what’s worse? Missing your bus stop on an express bus. Took me 25 minutes to walk back from the next stop it made. I guess that’s my morning exercise. I was only 5 minute late in the end, which isn’t even worth mentioning around here. I love working for employers who are cool like dat.

Right, so, to Rosie and Special1 and whomever else is doing Rosh Hashana today: L’shanah tovah tikatev v’taihatem! (I’ll be damned if I can find an online translation site that can reliably translate that into actual Hebrew script. I wouldn’t have a clue about that myself – I’m just a gentile. :))

BBBobbio - Okay, I gotta know, 'cos I obviously missed it and kept meaning to ask: What happened to your finger?

Gotta get back to work 'fore I take any longer to post this. Bleh!

She’ll be at Maryview, which is adjacent to that hospital. The surgery will be at Obici in Suffolk, however…

Who disbanded their ambulance service? I hadn’t heard about that. Wild-assed speculation would be that a volunteer squad was disbanded to be absorbed by a full-time operation.

And you’re too late in asking for pictures and cites… :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a cyst taken out of the last knuckle of my right pinkie last week.

There’s always the term ‘butt floss’…

MBG When we flew into the Cincy airport Monday, we saw below us a building that had a parking lot full of yellow school buses. Are those yours?

You would have been in Kentucky, you know.

So you just add the pumpkin to the cake mix with no eggs, water, oil, anything else? Hmm… I may have to try that. I wonder if it would work with muffin mix as well as cake mix.

Taxi, I make something similar to that recipe that **kaiwik ** posted. It’s just a cake mix (i usually use chocolate) and a 14oz can of pumpkin and a 1/4 cup of water. Mix together, it will be lumpy and put into muffin tins and bake at 350 for about 20-25 minutes. (Guessing on the time frame)

They turn out yummy and delish!!! I love them and best of all they are fairly healthy for you, I think something like 120 calories when I figured it out. I haven’t made them into a cake yet or tried it with actual muffin mix. I might have to do that.

I’m west of Chicago, I doubt you saw mine!

I KNEW it!!!

I bet Sat was absolutly beautiful - welbywife and I commented on it while we were hiking.

FCD should have told Carol that the boats only sink if people talk about boats sinking. Either that or open a through-hull fitting for a bit to really mess with her.

Happy Holidays to those what are celebrating them!

WHERE is the BEAR???

I tried thong undies once…not for me…nuff said.

Very busy day here. I’m trying to track down the official designation by UNESCO awarding Punta Cana beaches in the Dominican Republic as one of the world’s most pristine beaches…in 1971. Do you think the teeming millions could help?

Thongs look damn uncomfortable. And I frequently end up with my underwear inside out anyway- I wouldn’t want to complicate things further.

You know, they really aren’t too uncomfortable, if you buy them in the correct size. I always go for the extra-large sized drawers, even though I’m typically a size medium gal. That way I know my underwears won’t be too tight, even if they shrink in the warsh.

And the day I post a picture of me in underwear is the day I’ve gone insane. Unless I’m posting a joke photo of me with my underwear on the OUTSIDE of my clothing, I suppose. But don’t hold your breath, folks.

ANYHOO, enough about that subject (for now).

I am covering for a coworker who is on vacation. Which naturally means every special project or executive review that could POSSIBLY crop up (for both her stuff and mine) is popping up. Oh well, job security, I guess?

Speaking of thongs, I’ve done that before too Scout. At least your not the only one.

Afternoon, all. I’m feeling enough better that I’m up and contemplating getting some work done – although thus far, it’s strictly been contemplation whilst knitting. In fact, I’ve been so lazy I just now got around to reading the contributions to the MMP since I went to bed last night.

It’s 74° here today with bright sun and low humidity. The windows are open and I’m sitting here enjoying the lovely day. It looks like the AC will be off for the foreseeable future, hopefully till next spring! Although I doubt we’ll be quite that lucky.

L’Shana Tovah, good Ramadan (or whatever the greeting is?), and whatever else to all our celebratin’ folks!

mmms, the kitty is SQUEE! I actually squeed loud enough that the dogs wandered over and looked at me all puzzled about what I was getting all excited for.

There was something else I was going to say, but the ol’ brain has gone blank again. Ah well, either I’ll think of it or I won’t. :dubious:

Back to contemplating working!

Sigh. I could have sworn you were in Ohio, not Chicago.

Ellen - but some of that is in Ohio, right? That airport, according to the sign in Concourse C, said SW Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Okay, has everyone been kidnapped now?

What a difference a few weeks makes.

This time last month, I was working like a dog, getting ready to put in 70 hour weeks. Two weeks ago today school started and with it the usual hellish anticipation of what could go wrong.

Now? Nothing’s going wrong, and I’m at the state where I’m peeking through my old files, checking to-do lists and making up work. I spent an hour today at my administration office, just BS’ing with people.

Take me, please!
