I unloaded a truck in 102 degree heat, and walked two dogs in 90 degree heat. I am enjoying a 45 degree Yuengling right now.

Better day today. Two days off then back to the grindstone with a vengence on Monday… Next week will be hell as both of my day shifters are out so that means I do their jobs and my own. Managerial position is not all it’s cracked up to be.
I hope all have a safe, relaxing and cooler weekend. Vacation freeloaders leave in the am so there is that.

Second time in a row in this thread, for some stupid reason, I clicked on a bookmark in the middle of writing a post rather than opening a new tab, and I lost everything. Grrrrrrrrrrr I’m not going to try to recreate what I wrote…
But I’m up. It’s going to be another hot day and we’ll be spending it in the basement working. At least it’s cooler there, even in this heat. Theoretically, tomorrow won’t be as brutally hot, so we may try to take the boat out.
Meanwhile, I may go back to bed to watch TV. It’s mostly dark and I’m still mostly tired, despite my body telling me I need to be up this early. **FCD **just dragged himself out of bed, too. I guess neither of us will be sleeping in. Alas…
Y’know, the other day at work was so “challenging” that I cracked a beer the moment I got home. Ahhh it was nice.
Up at 5:30 today, just now finishing off an RC cola to counter-act the Advil PM I took to fall asleep last night. Off soon to Saturday chores (groceries). Later off to my girlfriend’s and then over to her folks’ for beer can chicken, which I learned about here.

Had a long day yesterday. Didn’t leave work till 7 or so. But I got some major stuff done, so there’s that.
Am about to go outside to water a few things, then maybe to our local pancake breakfast and farmers market and arts festival. Also there’s a huge yard sale near the arts festival that sounded intriguing. We’ll see what I can get done before the heat gets annoying.
Read all, but I’m not retaining stuff today, so…

See, next Firday is my bday and the decree was that celebration shall be done on Sattidy and I must decide today how that shall be. Also I was told that bein’ placed upon a pedestel and showered with jewels is not an option. Well, then, what’s the point, right? So now I need to make decisions.

We have plans for the evening with friends. To tell you the truth, I’d rather stay here, but I do have a good time with my friends, so I shall make myself go.
My son is over on the other side of the state for his orientation. He arrived there last night only to find out he had arrived a full 24 hours early. I tried to tell him that he didn’t have to be there until this evening, but he didn’t listen to me. Fortunately, a friend of his was there and has a place in Pullman, so he didn’t have to find a hotel room.
Back. We went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel and got a very sloooooooooow n00b of a server - never did get offered a drink refill. But not a huge deal. Once we got back home, I started laundry (3 loads washed and hanging on the line) and we got another double shelf unit assembled in the closet, then filled with stuff. **FCD **moved his air compressor out of my studio and we put a single shelf unit in its place, giving me tons more storage on a more stable platform. So yay.
We also started a pile of stuff for the dump and another pile of stuff I’m hauling to work to give away. That is, assuming anyone wants an old stereo or VCR or whatever else I’ve got down there. And we tidied some stuff. Lots of work left to be done down there, but we’ve quit, at least for a while. **FCD **just showered and I’m thinking about it. He’s going to take a nap. I may watch TV and knit. Decisions, decisions…

It is really unbearably hot out. I walked, very slowly, to the arts festival, walked once around and then came home. I’m considering indoor places to visit, since I have a bit of cabin fever. Also, need to have some lunch. Hmmmm.
