That Tuttle is one mean mother…
And a ranch like the AAA, further from town, is a good place to hide nefarious doings. Hmm.
I gasped when I read about the slit throat!

My apologies if this is not the proper place to post this.
I just want to say thanks! I am very impressed with your writing abilities in composing this story. It has been a fascinating read so far. And I would say that by the number of reads you have for this thread you have a large following. I will definitely have to go back and read Western #1 & #2.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could actually publish this in a hard copy for sale when it is finished. Profits could be donated to a charity.
Keep up the good work and thanks again.
Don,
Thank you very much for the kind remarks! This would be the place for them. I know I appreciate your evaluation.
Doubt we could sell 'em thought, stuff here more or less belongs to the Chicago Reader. But I have been in the process of rearranging the first Western, so that I can read it to my grandmother. Some of the names I introduced were from our family.
Again, my thanks. Maybe when we do another story someday(there’s usually a good rest period in between) you might like to come along. Or if you like sea stories, I know that Malacandra is interested in starting an O’Brian/Forrester type story of the British Navy.
Actually, Baker, I believe the OPs also retain rights over their own postings. So, if we could get permission from everyone who posted, we could publish it.
Eh. Long shot. I’m not worried about it. I’m just having fun posting here.
dgfoster, you may also enjoy our companion pieces, “Finish the Science Fiction Story.” I know you can’t search, so I’ll post a couple of links. But first, I have to go write my next chapter.
Okay, there’s a group heading off to the Triple A, sans Zeke, and since May is helping at the church and Danny will be bringing the cut-out boards of the fake Indian symbols back to the Sheriff, I don’t see why they can run into each other.
I’m also thinking Graziella and the others will miss Tuttle on their way out to the ranch, and Hank will figure out that Martha’s playing-dumb routine may not be the best avenue to take.
By that time, of course, Tuttle will have asked Zeke to get Judge Cotton in town to hear his aunt’s competency hearing.
How did Knight come through surgery, anyway?
In my latest post I don’t suspect foul play with the doctor. But he’s old, and he’s been overworked lately, as I posted a while back.
With Nichols I’m trying to get his hide nailed, and one plotline done. God, I hate that man!
So, was he talking in his sleep, then? That post confused me.
Yes, Nichol’s was talking in his sleep, and Knight started writing down what he was saying. Sorry for any confusion.
ivylass, that post took my breath away. So it was Danny!
On reading again my last post I realize I made a mistake with Nichols’ last statement. that should have read “Better get a pencil and start writing this down”, not what I actually wrote.
I have a thought for the epilogue:
Solace needs a schoolmarm. May used to be a teacher.
Got it! Yuri is working undercover for the Pinkertons!
But Yuri kidnapped and delivered Alice to Sam.
It’s part of the larger plan. He’s been in with Sam, like undercover drug agents get in with drug dealers. He had to insinuate himself with Sam. Remember, Sam planned to frame Yuri.
Or…,
…He’s a worse snake than any of them, and was willfully playing both sides.
Ok, either of those sounds good. And he may be out to cross Tuttle too, because he’s delivered those plates to a hiding place at the AAA.
I wish I could plan treachery as well as you guys do!
I figure Will Santini left his Daisy with Belle, while he was in Pennsylvania. This will give us a chance to have Belle show her stuff one more time!
Tuttle just got a big wrench tossed in his plans!
It sounds intriguing, but you’ll have to finish it, as I don’t know where the heir is supposed to have come from, or why it is Will who went to search him out! But wouldn’t that just get Tuttle in a twist? I look forward to that!
Now, I wonder if Belle’s fist is still hurting.
