I got the job!!!
Ya’ll can uncross now - the boss called this morning and I start Monday at 7. I will do my first two weeks of training on first shift, then a week of 4am to noon, then my shift will be 12 to 8am. I may be a floater for a while - working where needed as long as it doesn’t conflict with hockey.
She wanted me to start tomorrow, but I never thought things would go this fast so I have a full weekend of stuff planned. So Monday it is!

Mork, cold is fun. Down to about -15 it’s beautiful. Snow shouldn’t be warm. It’s all about contrast- you go out and play in the snow for several hours, and then come in and drink hot chocolate. Cold/hot. And the air is so clear… I love winter.
Drat. I just realised I probably won’t be playing in the snow a lot this winter. Oh, well. I’ll take the baby down to the lake, and sit in snowdrifts.

Little to report, except my parents are still here and will be gone next Wednesday. HRH is a fast learner and is crawling much faster now and keeping me on my toes. She will be running soon and I will lose all my baby weight (I wish)! Noor was very nice to her mother today and slept in until 8am. I have no concerns telling you this because tomorrow is my sleep-in morning, so if she decides to wake up at 5:30am tomorrow, it will be hubby’s problem!

LiLi, I was wrong about the PB Bars. They’re actually PB Balls. Although you could probably make bars out of the balls. Anyway, here’s the recipe. (I’m sure you could double or triple the recipe to make a bigger batch.)
Peanut Butter Balls
Mix together
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup rolled aots.
Roll into bite-size balls. Roll the balls in coconut or Grape Nuts cereal. Makes about 25. (I’d probably press the mix into a pan and top with nuts or something and then cut into bars. Or at least try that and see if it works at all. They may be too sticky to work as bars.)

I like my new nickname.
It’s very, very quiet today. There’s virtually no one here, except my cube neighbor and me. All the surrounding cubes and offices are empty. I love days like this. It’s overcast and gloomy outside, quiet and cozy inside. Happy sigh.
I finally made an appointment to get a mole checked out. It appeared 2 weeks ago, and has been growing ever since. It doesn’t look right, and it’s pretty good sized by now. So I’m going to see my nurse practitioner on Tuesday.

Random leetle update before I run off to class – I’m going to be spending this weekend in Traverse City, relaxing in a hotel and shopping with me mum. (The hotel has a continental breakfast too! I love those. :D) Hopefully this little excursion will help my nerves; I finally went to the counseling center yesterday, about my anxiety, and the counselor recommended a whole slew of ways to “manage anxiety attacks and stress levels”, as well as suggesting that I go get bloodwork done, as it’s likely my thyroid’s been overworked with stress (which in the end, just causes your body to stress out even more, go figure 
). Bleah.

Hi, everyone. I’m just vegging today. Slept as late as the dogs would let me – which, considering this is a lovely grey day, was delightfully late, past 10:00 a.m. – and then have been doing basically zero ever since. Had a nice long yak on the phone with snowbunny, and am otherwise trying to get myself feeling healthy again.

Today is my RDO, so I slept in until 9:00, woke up and made some coffee, checked my e-mail, cleaned up my e-mail box (it was almost full!), and have been trying to catch up here in the MMP.
It is cold out this morning; cold and frosty! Fall is here. I’m actually a little chilly, but I am NOT turning up the heater. Besides, soon I’ll be doing some work around the house, so that’ll warm me up anyway.
I should have brought my work tablet PC home with me, so I could work on my “significant contributions” for my upcoming performance appraisal. Bleah, I just didn’t feel like it, you know? Besides, as I have documented here in the past, I just hate writing those stupid things. How do you list what you’ve done, make it sound good, but come off looking like you think you’re the “end-all, be-all?” At any rate, my contributions, along with support form, are due on Halloween, so I guess I’ll need to get cracking come Monday and Tuesday. I’ll probably bring my pc home if I don’t get it done at work.
My daughter is being highly evasive about “mystery guy”. I gently quizzed her, while we were alone, and she wouldn’t give me any info. I don’t know what to think. I did point out that I just wanted her to be careful and not do anything stupid. Frankly, a hickey is highly out of character for her, so I’m just a teensy bit worried. I really, really hope that someone isn’t visiting without our knowledge. I would hate to think that my daughter would lie to us like that, especially in view of what happened last February. Things would be very, very bad if we catch her in a lie regarding this.
This weekend we really, really need to help our daughter submit her college apps. (Well, the help consists of us giving her money/credit card numbers to submit them). Of course, we’ll help with the apps too, if she needs them.
I know she’s started one or two of them, but I don’t know how complete they are.
Lessee, what else? Hmmm…nothing really. I hit Costco last night, and spent around $240.00 bucks. About $100.00 of that was meat, though.

I’m getting ready to leave for the weekend. I am going to a scrapbook retreat through Sunday! I’m looking forward to it. All of my scrapbooking stuff is packed. Now I just gotta pack clothes. It starts at one and it’s noon now. Think I’m a little slow today?
Oh, and my business cards arrived today!!! YAY! I’m very happy that they arrived and they look great. I’ve very pleased with them.

tinyninjachef has discovered elbows and headbutting. Talking sternly to him doesn’t work. I’m glad I only have one more week of work, because the movement is getting really distracting. It’s better to be at home, or out with friends or family, who understand when I stop and clutch my stomach.
