A Reluctant Rescue, A Papillon MMP

metal mouse, you went to college in the seventies, the contact buzz alone probably killed a few brain cells.

flytrap, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer et al have to rest up for the big transglobal trip later this month, hence Santa doing his PR gigs from a fire truck. :stuck_out_tongue:

I successfully took Thursday off. Well, more than 90% of it. In a few hours I’ll be on the plane to visit the grandbaby. She’s taken up walking since I was there last. I expect she’ll run me off of my feet.

It’s so cute watching her parents be all doting on her.

Dindin was waaaaaaaaaaay good if’n I do say so myself. Plus leftovers for two N.O.L. tomorrow. I also have the smoker set up for some major smokeage tomorrow. Baby back ribs, chickin boobs and thighs, and two <snerk> butts! <snerk> shall be smoked. The <snerk> butts! <snerk> shall go in da freezer for later consumption as will most of the chikin except for what we eat tomorrow for dindin. The ribs will be pretty much consumed Sattidy. JDD and partner are comin’ over to pig out on ribs.

Yeah, that’s what happened. It was a contact buzz. I would have never partaken. <insert angelic smiley with highly polished halo here>

truth be told, red and swampy, I never did partake, but I did have several roommates who were fond of the wildwood weed, so secondhand smoke was often around–contact buzz is a probability.

Home and fed. Hubs made spaghetti. Was good. I still have to walk King Louie then I am down for the night. Tahred!

That’s my story as well. It was umm… second hand smoke. I was never really actually stoned in class. Please don’t let the glow from the halo blind ya.

I just bought a wallet on Etsy. My mother’s first comment? “It’s definitely you.” :dubious:

StickyBuns it is indeed you!

OK, time to retire to the boudoir to watch teevee etc. Sleepy time may arrive soon. We’s tahrd!

Nitey Nite Y’'all!

So on the way home, my truck cut off, and swerved to the left. luckily, it ending up in the Bistro parking lot, so I had a pint. making mesquite chicken with ancho rice and corn with roasted Serrano peppers.

I’m whipped as well.

It’s been a long day and no time for a nap.
I think Sah-son did not do well on the music final.
He’ll do the art final tomorrow and he is done.

We went to Sonic for lunch. I picked up my pills and then on to irk.

My package didn’t come, so he gets out of leaf vacuuming for another day.

Run for political office? Wait – no ---- running for office is work. Find one you can be appointed to and then you’re set!
Much sadness over the spider; I understand. We’re more cat and dog people but we once donated to have a rat get life-saving treatment. Pets are pets no matter what they are. {{{{{Luci}}}}}

Thank
God
it’s
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDAY!
Or at least, free after lunchtime. That’s been one long week!

Ummm, Swampy, why is the ‘glow’ alternating red & blue??? :o
Twas an interesting night, with many plot twists; not yet sure if they’re positive or negative. All I know for sure is more good beers than planned.
The good news is that I am 4-wheeled vehicleless; the bad news is that I gotta get up extra early to commute via bicicletta. Hopefully it won’t cost too much to get back 4-wheels after shop repairs are done.

Got home after scoring a great deal (a 70% off sale and another 15% off for “loyalty” equals cheap!) on some lovely vintage style ornaments and thought one side of the garage door looked dark. Sure enough, we were driving a pediddle.

A quick scan of the web told me that all of the local auto parts places were closed but Wallyworld had what I needed, and that they were open until midnight, so back out into the wilds. I was surprised at how calm the place was for two weeks before the big day. The truck’s designers fought me and I think a ten year old bit of plastic got snapped off in the scuffle, but the truck is now bright eyed again. Not sure it really deserved new wiper blades, but it got those as well.

Blurf.

BLURF. Up entirely too early. Sinus attack woke me. I have taken medicine and hope I can get back to sleep for a couple more hours.

When I was reviewing my credit union account yesterday, I saw twin pending charges of something like $962 and change from WalMart. Neither **FCD **nor I have bought anything from WalMart lately, let alone twin purchases in that amount. Unfortunately, it was after closing time when I spotted it, so today when I get home, I’ll be on the phone, assuming the charges are still pending there.

Come to think of it, I was having credit card problems ordering a replacement shroud for our mulcher/vac. Curiouser and curiouser…

I stopped at WaWa for a bagel for breakfast this morning. Honest-to-goodness, no exaggeration, there was a coating of cream cheese 3/8" thick on both sides!!! I had to scrape some of it off. I like cream cheese, but OMG that was disgusting!

TGIF. I’m about to dive into work. It’s my early day, so I’ll be outta here at 2:30. YAY!

Happy Firday!!

Happy Firday!

It’s 43 degrees outside, with a high of 64 projected.

Good luck with the pending charges FCM.
and one can never have too much cream cheese.

Hope you feel better Butters.

I have to pick my new insurance plan, the 15th is the deadline. I tried looking at it last night and I was told I already picked my plan???!!! I suspect I will be on the phone with the MD exchange again this year. And people wonder why I cuss.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a foggy 56 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 78! and sunny. Da cave shall get an airin’ out for sure. As soon as it’s daylight enough out, smokeage shall begin. Other plans include a little spiffin’ up of da cave, makin’ up some coleslaw and baked beans for tomorrow night, and figurin’ out dindin for tonight, which shall involve smoked chikin and whatever else I decide upon. Sounds like a fun day off, right?

spidey red and blue? Just what have you been smokin’? :stuck_out_tongue:

{{{Butters}}} hope the sinuses are feelin’ better today.

OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, I shall purtify a bit and commence with smokeage and chores.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up and caffeinated. Working closing shift tonight.

FCM, nothing like having your credit card numbers stolen. I once had $500 in fraudulent charges at an electroics store. And $20 at a Bruegger’s Bagels in New Jersey.:dubious:

Hope the sinuses feel better soon, Butters.
