Butters, hope ths sinuses feels better; got a little stuffy head this am, hope it doesn’t lead anywhere. FCM, does your card have an 800- number to call? If they are willing to run up a charge lie that, whoever is using it could do major damage quickly if they want. I check my cards on-line with the bank at least once a week, sometimes more.
Firday finally. Weekend is supposed to be in the 70’s, I don’t know how far into the season this weather can last, but I for one am not objecting.
I can vent this here because none of you have done this, at least not that I know of.
So often, when I post a birthday note to a friend’s page, his or her friends then pile on with their own birthday greetings On. My. Post. That’s like me handing someone a birthday card, then she shows it to some of her friends and each one grabs a pen and signs the card, too. I mean, come on!
Swampy, if you have an angels halo, the guys with red & blue lights will be looking for you because you obviously are in possession of stolen property!
<hangs head> I have to admit that I have done this once or twice. And even worse, I always thought of it as rude. It’s just that as clumsy as I am with the very little Facebook and other stuff I do, sometimes its the only kind of “card” I can leave.
Survived work yesterday but not by much. My 8 hours became 10 and then graduated to 12. Throw in the two mandatory lunch breaks and that became 13. Throw in travel and time before the first shift started and that became 14. I’m getting too old for this kind of stuff. Doing it at least once next week though; silly me.
Just got off the phone with my CU Fraud Dept - our card was compromised, so it’s been cancelled. Which means the charge for our daughter’s Christmas gift didn’t go thru - I’ll need to reorder it tonight with my debit card.
Besides the WalMart charge, there were several to Match dot com, something called Boo, something in Singapore, something in Hong Kong, something to the Red Cross, and a few others I didn’t recognize. Anyway, good for the Fraud Dept for catching it, but dammit, I had that number memorized. Now I’ve got to relearn a new number. Plus I’ve got to check all our bills that go to the credit card and adjust them till I get the new number. What a pain in the patoot! We’ve got to wait a week for a new card. Dammit.
Credit card thieves are total assholes!!!
End of rant. Time for lunch.
I finished the computer model I was working on yesterday, and I’ve got another one to work on now - it’s a mess!! But it’s also a challenge, which is nice. And it keeps me busy.
Occasionally, when a friend of mine posts a note on their own profile saying “Thanks for the birthday wishes,” and I’ve forgotten to wish them a happy birthday, I’ll do it in a comment on that note, but that’s the closest I’ve gotten to behaving in the way you described.
**Butters **- I don’t think it’s that - the DOD didn’t have my credit card number. I suspect it might have been some place I’d made an on-line purchase. Last week, I ordered from 2 new places - could have been one of them… or something totally unrelated.
I had an email from the company where I ordered my daughter’s gift saying the card had been declined. They gave me a toll-free number to call, and I gave them my debit card info. So only a slight delay there. At least it didn’t happen while we were on the road - that could have sucked mightily.
Well, lunch is over - back to figuring out this stupid Bell Helicopter bracket…
Howdy Y’all! I have been a productive bear this mornin’. Go Me! Da cave is all spiffed up, slaw and baked beans have been made up for tomorrow’s dindin, and the chikin and ribs are off the smoker. The <snerk> butts! <snerk> will come off in a couple hours. This means tomorrow mornin’s chore will be cleanin’ the smoker. I think I’ll bake a couple sweet N.O.T. and nukulate some succotash for tonight’s dindin to go along with chikin. That’ll be easy and tasty, just like the way I like my men.
I didn’t say where the angel is from now did I?
MOOOOOOM last time I had a credit card compromised I was told it’d take a week to get a replacement card. However, I got it in the mail three days later. Here’s hopin’ the same happens for you. Stoopid credit card thieves!
That’s different. You’re posting to your friend on his or her own post. You’re not posting to your friend on a (possibly) stranger’s post who is more likely to see it than your friend is
Getting my alleged brain booted for irk. Closing shift on Friday, yay. I do get tomorrow off (a rarity in retail, having Saturday off), but I get to spend it taking a final I’m a bit freaked out about. It’s 45% of my grade for the semester and there are two chapters I really did have trouble with.
Two of us in the MMP with credit card issues?? <looks around suspiciously> Yeah, I trust all of you… no, really…
My brain has been reduced to mush. I closed my drawing and quit for the day/week. I need a break. I plan to stop on the way home and get a turkey for smokin’ for Christmas. I figure it’ll take a week to thaw in the fridge, so next weekend, smokage will occur. I’ll get the ribs next week. And while I’m at Food Lion, I need to get Higgs some canned food. And probably some ice cream, too. For us, not for Higgs.
