I’m in the same boat at FCM, nothing to do again. I don’t even know what to charge my time to since we don’t have an overhead code. :smack: I’d much rather be at home doing the long neglected laundry. I’d take the day off, but I used up all of my leave when I broke my leg.
Lunch has been ingested, more surfing has ensued, and I still haven’t heard diddley-squat from my boss. Closing in on 4 hours so far. I guess I’ll just start bringing books in again. Or maybe I’ll just quit. This is ridiculous!
Just had a visit from the guy who was hired with me. He got a call from a friend who’s also a drafter - our boss was interviewing him this morning for a job! Apparently it’s in the electrical engineering group in the back of our building. Guess that’s why he can’t be bothered to give me work…
**rosie **- I’d be fine with it if I could stay home in comfy clothes, but sitting in a cold cubicle on an old office chair isn’t all that pleasant. I want to be doing something, dammit!!
The dr office called me first thing this morning. The bitch was a little snippy with me, told me that she checks her voice mail everyday and there were no messages from me - except I guess for the last one otherwise how would she have known to call me? So my scripts have been called in but the pharmacy hasn’t sent a text to let me now they are ready. I was hoping they’d be ready so I could pick them up on the way home.
Thank you **Grumpy Bunny
**… turns out the holiday they were closed for was Christmas. I kind of knew it was Hannukkah - but why would they close for that?
Sah-son took his Geography final, he was done in 15 minutes. Said it was all the same questions from the last 5 quizzes, which he studied last night and went back over this morning.
Feeling better today, but tonight kicks off the finals surge (four exams between now and Tuesday, three of which are finals). Throw in irk and general life…
I’m late for Monday, but that’s not the only thing I’m behind on.
Congratz to MsRobyn for the weight loss and to Wiki for the new
puppy.
Get Well Soon wishes to Nettie. Commisserations to luci.
I’ve been trying to take Thursdays off, to get keep from losing vacation time, but success on that front has been spotty. I’ll keep trying.
Did you send a check? I once was determined to have a 0% work related disability. The determination came with the statement that monthly checks for $0.00 would begin arriving in four to six weeks. Sadly, those checks never came.
We’ve had a dip in the temperature. Last week that coincided with the winter drop in light and some winds. I got to see yellow and orange leaves blowing off of the trees as I drove down the road. Showers and drifts of color.
My diploma reads Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, but I’ve held jobs as a mechanical engineer and an aerospace structural engineer, because I’m *that *good!
Home, fried, and we’ll be going to dinner in a new place after we feed Higglet. It’s called The Cow and The Fish - just opened a month or so ago. It’s as good and excuse as any to try it.
I finally got some work a bit before 2 - from Jason, my engineer. Never did see my boss, except his back when I went to his cube and he was on the phone. But Jason gave me enough to keep busy at least tomorrow and maybe into Firday, so yay for that!!
Thanks for the anniversary wishes - I know there are lots of folks, my mom included, who never thought it would last, considering how it began. Guess we showed them!
The new restaurant was quite nice, altho they lied about their chocolate lava cake. It was chocolate, but lacked lava. Yummy, tho. I had salmon and my sweetie had the steak/shrimp/scallop specialty. We’ll definitely go back, assuming the place lasts. It’s in a really crappy location, but for a Weds, it was quite busy. So maybe they’ll make a go of it where others failed.
I’m now in robe and slippers, about to assume the veg position. Tahred!!!
My left knee has been a bit stiff for about a week. This afternoon on the way out to the truck, I took a step that brought tears to my eyes. I figured I had a couple more years before a tune up, but if it isn’t better in a couple of days, I 'll be back at the ortho. BTW, living in a walk up sucks with a bum knee.
