Nooooo! Now that song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the night. :smack:
Bwa-ha-ha!
Rosie, I’ve been saying that about Virginia’s test for 7 years now. :dubious:
Time for shower and bed. Birthday stuff is over for another year, and our son is happy. I can’t ask for more. It was nice to get off work early to spend more time with him. Next: our daughter’s 11th at the end of June.
Am up stupidly late for no good reason. Got my iPod touch today and have been playing with it, making sure I understand what it can do.Quite entertaining.
Only skimmed.
Yay for ReboSon!
And Happy Birthday, JoolzSon!
And those are REALLY impressive results, FCM.
Gotta get to sleep.
Batck tomorrow.

Man, I’m tired. My back started hurting right before taijitsu this morning and I barely made it through. It got well enough that I went to my private lesson and the evening class. I should get much better at rolling now. I just have to practice more.
Dinner was a big success, although I had to wake my mom twice to come eat (she often takes a nap before dinner after coming home from work). It was just wraps made with chicken and veggies in multi-grain tortillas but she really liked it, so I’ll do that again some other time.
Did some graphic work I promised mom. Hope her boss likes it.
This kitty is tired and heading to bed.
Actually STG, you’ve given me an idea for dinner tomorrow night. That sounds just right.
Congrats, Rebo, you must be very relieved about the result.
Nothing much to report today, I lost a pound at Fat Club last night so that was good and I will compensate by having some chocolate today. I was given it yesterday but decided to be a good l’il Boo and leave it in my desk until today.
And it’s half-past week so that means we’ll be out for beerverages tonight. Woohoo! Well, I’ll have having a couple of beerverages, 'im indoors will be on tap water now that he’s started the Great New Diet.
Weather’s turned cool and it might rain today so that’s a bonus. Last night I was given some forget-me-not plants from a friend’s garden so I put those in my little border when I got home and hopefully they’ll just take over completely.
Gratz, Rebo and FCDaughter! I hope Reboson does well both in and after the military.
Mom is getting ready to take The Grandparental Units in ; she needs to get some work done on her shower before they can move in. Looks like she won’t be coming down to visit as much as she’d like to.
I was one of five people joining the team last week, another one came in yesterday. Since he’s coming for only three months (in theory), he didn’t intend to look for a flat, only a room in a shared one. Given that the Maternal Unit isn’t likely to be dropping by during that time, I’ve offered him my spare; I’m signing the paperwork for the flat today.
I’m having one of those periods where you’re so busy running in front of life so it doesn’t run you over, you barely have time to say hi! So take a bucketful of "hi"s and "how are y’all"s and distribute as needed in the next few days!
Haze, if I recall, your bro has had a bit of an attitude about schoolwork for some time now, yes? Maybe you need to help him less… but what do I know - I’m just a grouch this morning.
No, I lie - I’m in a pretty good mood. When I took the doggies out first thing, there was a bunneh in the yard. But my mostly deaf and blind canines never noticed it. I just took them out again, and as Bernie was in the poo position, stoopit Scruffy walked right into her back legs. My dogs are idiots, just so’s you know.
I brought the grand dog upstairs last night while daughter was out, and he was trying to play with the other dogs. Brat Scruffy snapped at him, and the poor guy freaked! I held him for a while and he finally calmed down, then started licking all over me. So I took him out to run in the yard, which is hilarious on its own! It’s just tricky to walk sometimes - he literally stays underfoot. I can’t imagine how it was having a whole litter of these guys!! I’ll be glad when he’s a bit bigger.
Today is my last day on the stoopit schedule. Tomorrow is payday. I’m thinking about taking Firday off so I can have a super-long long weekend. Daughter has half a day Firday - maybe I’ll take off the same time and take her to lunch. Her school is right down the street from the base where I work, and there’s a really good Mexican restaurant a couple of blocks from both of us. There’s an idea…
Much heat and humidity is threatened for the next 2 days. Which means I’ll have to close the house. Ick. But the weekend will be milder, so there’s that.
Happy Hump Day!
Up. At 'em.
Glad you’re settling in, Nava. Hope your mom is able to cope with the grands; I know they drive her crazy.
Need caffeine.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Today I shall sanitize da cave and look for a job. That’s my day lately, whatever needs to be done at da cave plus look for a job. Woohoo.
OK, that’s all I got for now. Think I’ll go feed rumbly tummy and get busy.
Later Y’all!
This is why I’m not a visionary in culinary arts. Rosemary and chocolate together? :dubious:
Bleh. Besides, I’m a comfort food kind of guy; the stuff dreamed up as new dishes on the cooking shows generally leaves me cold…
Haze, keep your head down. Better yet, sounds like a good time to go back to Ireland…
The Foomobile behaved well today, after being told the transmission is not long for this world. Maybe I can get it to last until the end of this year, when I planned on replacing the thing anyway. It’s a 20 year old car with 145k miles on it, after all.
Hot. Ugh.
Bunneh!!
Yes, FCM, my brother has been a bit of a lazy ass when it comes to schoolwork. I talked to him today, though, and it seems that this time he has a legit excuse. He’d gotten As on his essays for half the term, then for some reason the prof disappeared and a new prof took her place. She then announced that all their previous essays essentially counted for nothing and that they would have to write ONE final essay that would amount to 90% of their grade. It was a stupid topic - she gave them a list of random books and told them to write a research paper on the historical context of one of their choosing. (This is a comp class, not a lit class.) When my brother turned in his paper, she took one look at it said, “This looks HORRIBLE. Don’t expect a good grade.” And then he got a D for the entire term.
 Teachers like that make me soooooooooo mad. I told my brother to file a protest with the dean - really, it’s not fair to the students to impose an entirely new set of rules for the class in the middle of the term.
PS - BBBobbio, we’re not too concerned . . . yet. South Koreans tend to take North Korean threats with a grain of salt. I will say though that this is the most nervous I’ve seen people around here.
**Rebo **-- congrats on a (relatively) happy ending for your son! Hopefully, this is the “near-miss” that will set him straight.
**Nava **-- I know what you mean about not having time to come up for air, sometimes. Hang in there ::sends a snorkel through the interwebz::
**FCM **-- Good teachers are perhaps one of the most important things in a society. Yay for FCDaughter!
Conversly, boo  for HazeBro’s teacher
**Bobbio **-- if Koreans are anything like Israelis, you ain’t gonna be seeing many S Koreans jumping ship right now. If anything, adversity like this seems to stiffen up the national spine, as it were. **Haze **-- I know the feeling. Hang in there!
G’mornin’!
Got some more good news yesterday. I don’t remember if I told y’all, but our Dept. Head quit about a month ago. Plus, work has been scarcer and scarcer - and we were all worried about the future of our department.
Yesterday we were informed as to who our new supervisor will be. It’s a good guy who I’ve done some work for in the past. He’s very capable, and not a micro-manager. Plus his boss was on conference call with us when the announcement was made, and it seems our department is about to gear up, hire more people and we will be busy busy busy for quite a while. Yippee!!!
Right now I’m slow slow slow though. It’s a rollercoaster!
Have a great day, Mumpers.
Summer session- coming up briefly for air- hardest teaching I’ve done in a long time…
(sinks back down)
