A Tad Late, but Still the MMP....

Oh! I see the edit icon with its lethal looking scissors and all. Wow.

Well, now that we can edit–I find I have nothing to say. Go figure.

I am supposed to be cleaning up the house. I have managed to clean the entry and the front hall, take a shower, do my hair, and some laundry, but that’s about it.

I need to get the downstairs looking decent again. Just not feeling it, is all. However, I have to do it because the hubby has already washed the rig, gone to get his and my son’s hair cut and is probably on his way, if not already there, to go paintballing.

He even mentioned the fact that perhaps I could do some cleaning up around here.

It needs to be done, and I’m trying to get motivated here. Swampy, you need to start “motivating” me, so I feel guilty. C’mon, you can do it. You’ve done really well with “motivating” those who had papers to write.

Rigsy, it may take you a couple, few days to get used to the color. Also, if you have the living room emptied out, you may not see the whole picture because your furniture and stuff isn’t in there. Just a thought…

Well, off to do some picking up. I really, really, really don’t want to though.

Ok, fine… Taters, young lady, do you just enjoy wallerin’ in filth? Look at this place! Would you want your friends to see it like this? Well, you might, but I don’t! Now, get busy and start cleaning or there will be no WoW (whatever that is) for you again, young lady? Do you hear me? I saw that look! It won’t do you any good. Now, get busy! I expect to see this place clean in a couple of hours. Yes, I do! Get busy now young lady. Stop that! I saw that!

Oh and I mean the stuff behind the sofa too. I know all about that. You best believe I’ll be checking! Get busy, NOW!

Hee! With the edit thingy I can come back in and fuss some more right after I post.

Almost all of the drywall is up - except for a couple of small patches. I need to do some laundry. And make dinner. Decisions, decisions…

I guess I can toss a load into the washer, then get the chicken started. Sounds like an executive decision to me.

And that’s what I’m all about - them executive decisions.

FCM, just remember, laundry in washing machine, chicken in rotisserie. The other way around will just get messy.

Bwahahahahaha! Now that’s what I’m talking about. And no, I don’t like my friends, or ANYONE to see filth. Alas, there will be no World of Warcraft (WoW) for me today, anway. Too much to do, places to go, etc.

Okay, slinking off to clean now, for real; at least for awhile, or until things look presentable.

Just remember WWMD… What Would Martha Do.

Okay, great room is dusted, polished, picked up, and vacuumed. Next is the kitchen. Not much to do in there. I may even get ambitious and wash the floors after I clean the kitchen. We’ll see.

I ALWAYS clean behind the sofa, Swampy. Nothing is behind it, but I vacuum it so the dust doesn’t collect on the carpet back there.

I am still amazed at the amount of dirt and hair that my Dyson Animal picks up. It kinda squicks me out, truth to tell. I do vacuum, but I can’t get my family to take their damn shoes off when they enter the house. The only time they take them off is when the shoes are really muddy or wet.

You know who the worst offender is, though? My mother! She had a strict NO SHOES policy in her house. Woe betide us if we forgot to remove ours shoes!
I’ve talked to her several times, but she still thinks her shoes aren’t that dirty since she only wears them at work and while walking to her car. Uh hello? The ground is dirty, oily, and wet at the mall parking lot. She fills me full of grrrrrrr sometimes.

Well, off to do the kitchen. I can’t have Swampy berating me now, can I?

Oh, I do NOT LIKE MARTHA! I couldn’t care less what she would do.

Chicken is in the oven, not the rotisserie today. First load of laundry is probably close to done - I’ll head downstairs to start the second load in a wee bit. Scruffy has had a flea bath - **FCD ** saw a crop of fleas on her, so that’s that. Bernie has been really jealous, and Brandy is just *not happy * with the interloper. But they’ve all been fed and they’re all crashed and snoozing. Sounds like a good plan to me. Too bad about having to do laundry and all that…

Sometimes being an adult really sucks.

I had to jump on the editing bandwagon, just because…

I HAVE NO HEAT!!!

Happens every freakin time I get a delivery, consarnit. OilMan is on his way. (sometime between 7pm and 10pm tonight… it’s now 5:14) Actually it used to happen all the time with the old burner, but not so much since I had the new one put in in '04, but of course it would have to happen on a very cold, very windy day. brrrrrrrrr.

That is a very odd looking critter - camel face, rabbit body, horse legs…does it quack, too?

Bears? Saints? You mean we aren’t thru with football yet? Actually, I am in two offices pools for the “big” game.

Big Yellow SUV Meister - I can only play JigZone on FireFox, because I haven’t upgraded to 10.4 yet, so I cannot upgrade Safari yet. (I know, wtf am I waiting for?) and I uploaded the pics in FF also.

swampy - if it’ll make you happy, I’ll put my face up there, too. Maybe tomorrow. I have to trim the pics down to 400 pxl X 300 pxl first and find ones that the general public might like. Mayb some more original art…

Yay! We get to rearrange rosie’s face!

Taters don’t forget to clean behind the fridge, young lady! I know all about the ick behind there. I’ll be checking.

FCM that would’ve been even worse! Clothes in the oven and chicken in the washer. Aren’t you glad I reminded you now?

I got cornbread cookin’. Smells so good! Soup’s also simmerin’ on the stove. Gonna be nummy! ACBG claims all the nummy smells are makin’ him hungry. Hopefully it’ll all be done before he wastes away to nuttin’ poor thing. I think a little quality hot tub time will be called for after supper.

I’m NOT cleaning behind the fridge today, nuh-uh, no way, no how. The dishes have been loaded, the empty pop cans rounded up and taken to recycle, the crystal washed, the dining table cleaned up and polished, and now I need to finish wiping my counters down and sweep the floor.

It is, however, on my to-do list. Maybe my next three day weekend. I can’t move that huge fridge by myself anyway.

Then I’ll be done, for today.

Plus, I’ve got another load of clothes washing. I need to press some clothes for going out to dinner tonight. It seems the place we’ve chosen to dine has a “business casual” dress code. Ugh…that means I wear my work clothes and hubby needs to wear slacks or khakis. The khakis and whatever shirt he chooses to wear will need to be pressed. The problem is I don’t know what he wants to wear yet, because he’s not home from taking my son and his friend paintballing.

I also will need to put on my face and change clothes. I’d just rather wear some comfy jeans, but I can’t do that. Sigh.

So, I have been productive today. I will be productive tomorrow as well, because the hubby has to help my mom remove her fallen apple tree. So, because he will need to work, I will feel obligated to do more around here. So, there you go. The house will be completely clean by tomorrow. Except for the kids’ rooms. I ain’t touchin’ them. That’s THEIR responsibility.

Taters if your conscious will let you live with filth behind your fridge far be it from me to judge. It’s not like we’d start any viscious rumors about the filth in your kitchen… not us… [sub]pssst… cool kids… did y’all know that Taters never, ever, ever cleans behind her fridge? Disgusting ain’t it?[/sub] Oh and pick out a shirt for TatersHub. Chances are you could convince him he chose it before he left this morning. Besides, is he gonna argue with you after you ironed it for him?

Is that the secret, editing down to the right number of pixels? because it says to, but it also says it’ll do it for you if you just submit a picture. Hmm., gotta try that.

We can also do private messages, but you have to edit your profile to allow it.

I’m feeling kinda outnumbered with my Bear-ness here. I like the Saints too, any other time, they’d be a sentimental favorite for me. Just not tomorrow.

I just don’t know what our Resident bear sees in a bunch of Saints, when he could hang with more Bears.

You’re such a good friend… :stuck_out_tongue:

Dinner was yummy. I’ve put away the clean dishes, and **FCD ** is rinsing the dishes now so I can load the dishwasher. Second load is in the washer, first in the dryer.

Tomorrow, we’re going to go grocery shopping in the morning. Heck, we might get a whole INCH of SNOW!! I need to stock up on bread, milk, and toilet paper before we get snowed in!!! OK, actually, I need food for the week. Plus I need to run to WalMart and get more wet doggie food since we’ve now got twice as many dogs to feed.

Scruffy is copping an attitude - I saw her snap at Brandy and snarl at Bernie. Guess she thinks she’s the Alpha Bitch. We don’t have nearly enough animals in this household.

Pssst…I do too clean behind my fridge. It’s a safety hazard if you don’t!

As to picking out the shirt for hubby, even if I did have it ironed, he’d still say no, he’d rather wear a different shirt. I spoil him, I think.

Speaking of my husband, he just called from the paint ball field. He tried it out to, but told me his rental gun was so crappy he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. Personally, I think it was his aim that was off, but we won’t tease him…much.

The kitchen is clean, so nyah, nyah, nyah. :stuck_out_tongue: Tomorrow, I’ll wash the floors. There’s no point in doing it today.

I’m getting hungry. I haven’t eaten dang thing today. I had coffee and that was it. Dinner can’t get here soon enough.

Wow. What a day.

To begin with I must have slept a full 12 hours. Of course, having to breathe through my mouth for that long resulted in a world-class case of dry mouth on waking up. Seriously, the back of my palate was bone dry. However, the symptoms seem to have leveled off to a manageable level at least. I retract me previous request for death.

Then this afternoon MindWife’s sore tooth came back with a vengeance. No longer content for periodic throbbing, it was now at constant, extreme levels. I resorted to calling family to see if they had any Tylenol 3s lying around. In the end her brother ended up calling his dentist at home, and his dentist, going way above and beyond the call of duty, agreed to fax in a prescription to our local pharmacy.

Of course, nothing goes as planned. I called to see if they had received it and they said they were just waiting for the fax, as they had spoke to him verbally. So, I went over and asked to pick it up. Oops! It seems their fax machine is busted and he can’t take verbal prescriptions for controlled substances (Percoset (Oxycodone) in this case). Grr. So I had the pharmacist call the dentist and give him the number of another pharmacy close by so he could redirect the prescription there. He did.

So, I went over to the other pharmacy, and they began filling the prescription – except there was a problem. The faxed prescription page didn’t have the sender’s fax ID header, and they required that for verification of the sender’s origin. So I had the pharmacist call him and a lengthy conversation ensued. In the end she suddenly remembered that she could take the prescription verbally, so finally she got the prescription for the Percoset and some Penicillin derivative. She also has an appointment with this new dentist on Monday, so hopefully things will go better.

I have to say, this dentist – who was doing this on his own time from home for a patient that wasn’t even his – went way above and beyond here. I don’t know many doctors who would go so far out of their way to help someone like this, but it’s wonderful to know that there’s at least one out there whose work is more than just a paycheque. Her current dentist hasn’t really been helpful, and his office is closed on weekends. We even went out to a couple of others in the immediate vicinity, but one was “too busy” to see her, and the other wanted all the cash up front and let the insurance reimburse us.

I think if this guy is as good at his job as he is helpful, she ought to consider switching to him permanently.

Supper was delicioius. I knew everyone was just waiting to read all about it.

MindDude glad you’re feeling better. Hope the 'script helps the wife. That was good of the dentist to help out like that.

Oh, and rosie I did all the puzzles in 48 piece classic cause I’m lazy.

I need to get back on a regular schedule. I seem to have turned into a night owl overnight. I’ve discovered that sleeping in during the day leads to strange dreams. I even had one of those dreams where you think you’ve woken up, but you haven’t, and then you finally really wake up.

I found out yesterday that the job I really wanted (at former employer) opened up. I’m 90% certain I’m glad I never said anything about wanting it, because I probably would have taken it, and stayed on another year or so, and that would have led to 10 years with The Firm, and I probably never would have left.

Anyway, I got my COBRA election form today. It’s more than I had hoped, but not as bad as I anticipated. It basically covers everything, with a minimal co-pay, that’s why it costs so much. If I knew what the next year or so would bring, I might look at individual coverage that’s better suited to me. Oh, well.

I have leftover pizza, but no soda. So I need to go to the store for it. Maybe some ice cream, too.

Someone hornked and I looked all over the house for it until I found it, in the litter box. Too bad they don’t do that all the time. It makes clean up easy!

I added more puzzle pictures, me, 2 more originals, and (of course) Smokey.
