I’m alive and warm. After I posted for the last time last night, I went to the livingroom and got the two TV throws that live there and threw them on the bed (you can never just “place” throws) As I passed the thermostat, it occurred to me that, maybe, in my need to get the house warmed up, I had cranked it up to high (I put it on 80 hoping to warm the house up real fast but it wasn’t working) so I backed it down to 75 which is where it need to be for the house to be at 70. and by the time SNL was over I could feel how warm the house was becoming. So OilMan had fixed it and I had just been impatient. I set the alarm for 8:30 so I could call the OilCo and tell them not to send OilMan back. Then I went back to sleep til about noon:30, watched a few hours of DVR’d Scrubs episodes and went back to sleep til about a half hour ago. Dinner is a salad with tuna, grapes for dessert.
FCM - isn’t Scruffy still just a pup? Forgive her and train her and she’ll be as good as Bernie one day. As for Brandy liking sauerkraut juice? There is a list of very uncatlike foods that Smokey adores, among them chunky tomato sauce.
**rosie ** - the vet thinks Scruffy is about 10 or so - she’s definitely not a pup. But she now has a nice, new crate that’s screened on all sides, and I put an afghan in there for her. I hate that she’ll have to be confined, but I don’t need any more poo or pee on my carpet. **FCD ** thinks after a little while, she’ll get on a proper schedule and she won’t have to stay there.
It’s raining here, which should make for a nice coating of ice on the snow. First thing tomorrow, I’ll call work and see if we’ve got delayed start. <fingers crossed> But just in case, breakfasts and lunches are packed.
Did I mention that my new ceramics class starts on Thursday? At a college?? And it’s an art class?? I haven’t taken an art class since I was a kid and I took oil painting at the rec center. That didn’t last long because the teacher insisted on finishing every painting - so nothing I painted was really my work. That’s a pretty crappy thing to do to a kid. But I never took art in high school - I always chose music as my elective. Anyway, I’m very excited. Yay!
And I’m thinking about doing another ceramics giveaway. I’ve got a lot of stuff that just isn’t good enough to sell. It’s from my “primative” period. I’ll create a photobucket page with pics of the ones I want to be rid of - so if you missed the last time, or you want another hunk, stand by…
Well, part 2 of REALLY BORRRRRING went fast. Now, I’m waiting for tea to finish brewing and then it’s on to Part 3 of my reading (the next notebook-full).
We’ll see how far I get.
There’s the buzzer…off to get tea cup and resume reading.
I’ve never claimed my FCM Original™ from the first giveaway, so I definitely want dibs on something!
Thanks for the kicks in the butt, guys. That and some ibuprofen did the trick – since my left foot is somewhat atrophied from all the [del]botch-up[/del] complications from surgery a few years ago, my left calf is also prone to nasty muscle spasms when it gets worked at all, and I’ve definitely been doing that the past few days. It’ll get better, but in the meantime it hurts. But between the ibuprofen and a yummy dinner – adobo (a heavenly Filipino dish of spiced meat in sauce, served over rice, that is one of Papa Tigs’ specialties), almost as good as chicken soup for what ails you – I’m feeling better and actually getting some work done again. Now if I can keep it up for the other 150 pages or so I have left to finish!
We’ve got a couple inches of snow now, and it’s still below freezing so it’s still falling as snow. Keeping fingers crossed that it stays snow – although Papa Tigs had forgotten that since he’s now one of them evil gummint bureaucrats, he gets to follow the gummint leave schedule instead of having to go in anyway, so I got to remind him of that little fact, which cheered him up considerably. (Although he’ll still have to go in anyway, being “critical personnel,” but at least he doesn’t have to kill himself to be there on time!)
And last but not least, I’m sorry the Saints went marchin’ out, but I’m happy for MBG!
Hope those of you who have ice on snow will stay safe. So far, we appear to be sticking with only snow. Someone cleared off my front walk, kind of, so I didn’t bother with the rest. Looks like they used something electrical, but didn’t quite make it to the surface. They left enough that it won’t be instant ice, at least.
Glad you got motivated (and are feeling better), Tigs.
New class sounds exciting, FCM.
Part 3 went pretty fast, thank heavens! So I’m more or less where I wanted to be going in to Monday.
Ok, the hamsters ate this three times, but I’m going to post it, darn it! Queen Katamari Ear Muffs. Just wanted to add the touch of bizarre to your Sunday evening!
Last Post! It rained, no snow, sleet, freezing rain, or locusts. I’m off tomorrow, so I’ll have some nerve tonic. and maybe watch some DVDs. I got Space:Above and Beyond, and Dark Angel season one on Amazon for $20 a pop.
FCM, have you asked your vet if it is a dominance issue? Maggie becomes a tyrant when other dogs come over.
bw - since I am going to try to not be late to work tomorrow - I will post the new MMP in within the next hour. After all, on the East Coast (and where Nava is) it’ll already be Monday.
Oh, and the fluke of access at work on Friday? that was the new server settling in. By Saturday, I was blocked again. So, I’ll be doing my nightly [del]ketchup[/del] catch up posts this week.
