A Tad Late, but Still the MMP....

Okay. All we need today is hail and we will have officially experienced every type of precipitation within the span of half a day. This morning we had sleet. Ten minutes ago, cold rain. Now, it is snowing – great big wet clumps of snow.

Carry on.

Tell me about it. This morning I woke up at 10, saw Roomie’s boyfriend off on his trip back to Maine, spent about two hours looking at jobs online but not yet applying to any of them, and then I took a shower. I’m thinking my job hunting for today might be at its end, but I can’t quite motivate myself to do any chores. I was hoping once Roomie wasn’t sick anymore and was up and out of the house, I’d be less likely to just want to lay on the couch and watch tv … but it didn’t turn out that way.

It’s FREEZING in here. The heating guy is working on one of the unite here, and the whole place is cold. I’m about to scamper off to ask him if it’s going to get warm in here or not in the next several minutes and if not, I’m declaring it a Go Home Everyone Day.

MMP’ers as well, if I declare it time to go, tell your bosses I said you can go too.

Dear Mother Nature,

It has come to my attention, aka in looking out my window, that you have sent us something vaguely winter-ish. This mixture of sleet and tiny, tiny snowflakes is not up to your usual standard. I expect more from someone of your stature, frankly. If you do not start putting your back into things and send some real snow, I will be forced to Take Matters Into My Own Hands. Good day to you.

Sincerely,

One Missing Winter, Sick of Rain (I don’t live in Seattle) Rigs

I rock! I know barely anything about Word (if you recall we just bought a copy of Office yesterday) and I made a safety flyer for hubby to impress his new boss with. I had to ask my friend how to put text around a picture, though. It looks way cool! I know, pretty lame, but I’m proud of myself. It only took about an hour.

One load of laundry has been hung up, another is in the drier, and a third is in the washing machine. I’m just a bundle of energy, I tell ya! And the soup is on the stove. Eventually (after the clothes are all dry) I’ll get cleaned up and out of my (2-day-old!) jammies! Oh - and I brought in two massive house plants so they won’t freeze tonight. Mr. Rebo said he would put sheets around the outside plants when he gets home. Yay for him!

Stay warm, folks!

Quick! Someone call Channel 2 and have them send Walter Jacobsen out to put together a live report on the 10 O’Clock News! (Is he even still on the air? Still alive?)

Dear Mother Nature,

I am sure you have received Rigs’ letter concerning the lack of winter in her neck of the woods.

I would be more than happy to give her the predicted four inches of snow for tomorrow.

However, we here in the PNW would appreciate a break from ANY precipitation or ANY wind for at least a couple of weeks. I think this is a fair trade.

Sincerely,

Taters , a Pacific Northwesterner who is well and truly sick of the THREE winters we’ve experienced in one.

It’s been hailing here all day. I was pelted with tiny ice balls as I walked to the physics building. So, as far as the different types of precipitation go, you might say Hail, hail, the gang’s all here!

Back from dump run, following a grocery run. That doesn’t sound right, does it?? Anyway, I made a batch of egg salad, and I’m thawing some mahi-mahi for dinner.

I unloaded the kiln this morning and took some photos. Here are the new pieces I made. Now, I’m off to post before-and-after pics of the reglazed pieces - link to follow.

oops! this should work.

Either that or there’s something really kinky going on in the VunderHouse.
I learned how to ‘restrain’ difficult, violent or unresponsive patients. All different way of tying people up.
Add in the knot-tying I learned in Firefighter class, and you’re got yourself a night of bondage fun.

Ooh, I like the blue and ivory and the black fluted ones, elvishtalkativematernaltype. But nothing beats a lil ceramic jar with a lid…

I like the glazing technique with the “dripping over the sides” look to it as well.
MN has NOT listened to me…yet.
I made some brownies out of Cook’s Illustrated. Is it me or is that the most pompous mag for cooks, evah? Words fail me. Anyway, they’re cooling. We Shall See (if they’re any good).

rigs, perhaps you should send MN a P.S. with a deadline. Maybe that will get her motivated.

Nice set of pottery, FCM! I like the bunny jar and the kitty bank. But I also like several of the others a lot.

I’ve been progressing a little. Got a bunch of stuff sorted out of the living room. Now I’m going to vacuum and then sort laundry so that I can get going with that.

Back after a while.

GT

The bunny jar is to die for FCM. So keeeee-yoooooote!

Today it is eighty degrees Amurrkin outside. Tomorrow the high will be around 60 with rain. Apparently we can expect rain the rest of the week. All those sleet and ice storms turn to rain here.

Ok, salad is made and I’m chillin’ a bit before tidying myself up. I could take a quick nap… hmmmmm…

Oh joy. The WyldeChylde (my GF’s niece) and her mother (the GF’s older sister) are visiting this weekend. I might take the weekend off and drive to, I don’t know, Maine? Saskatchewan? Someplace far away. They don’t like me anyway - they won’t miss me.

Too bad I’m not a very good photographer, but here are before and after pics of stuff I reglazed. I look at it as a learning experinece…

When I said “what we need,” I wasn’t implying we actually wanted any, so you can just keep your hail right there if it’s all the same to you.

And shame on you for that wretched put. You oughtta snow better than that.

There’s the old saying: If sex is a pain in the ass, you’re doing it wrong.

I love the kitty bank! But then, you knew I would. The bunny jar is adorable and I like the other pieces, too. Wish I had a wheel and a kiln!

It’s 71 degrees here. I’m not a big fan of winter but I’d like just a bit.

Litter boxes are scooped and I’m about to go get dressed for the Coach’s Show.

Of course I meant “wretched pun.” Not to be confused with “wretched typo.”
