A very interesting MMP

I have a Mac Nava, but I don’t know if it’s the right generation (it can’t run Leopard, let alone Snow Leopard, for instance). I’m running OS 10.4.11 and it’s a PowerPC G4 (which, oddly, means that it’s not the kind that actually runs PC stuff, which all the newer Macs do). But I’d be happy to help. I’m here for the next hour or so. I’ll be gone for a few hours after that, but should be around after 1:00 or so my time (it’s almost 8:30 right now). PM me…

Owww, that sounds hurty, FCM. Looking forward to pics of your progress, though.

I know what you mean, rigs. I read your thread. It’s a very odd conversation. Can’t tell what to make of it. I’m pretty sure I would have assessed the situation the way you did. Don’t let other people’s reactions let you down. Oh…and come hide in the MMP. There’s chocolate.

Notting Hill was my chick flick of choice last night.

It’s raining! Boo!!! And it feels like Teh Sick is trying to catch me. Tell it to go away!!!

Hugs.

gt, I love you, will a sack of seeds be an appropriate bribe?

In yet another demonstration that they are a bit wobbly in the head,

  • there is some software we get from the Uni in these external HDs. The HDs can’t be used “as is”, you need to run Virtual PC…
** which isn’t compatible with the computers several of us have,
** and isn’t available in the computers in the Uni’s general labs, only in a very specific lab.
  • and there are other programs we are supposed to get for our classes,
** and if you’re on campus, you can’t download it into your own computer (either from a dorm or using the wi-fi available in general areas)
** but you can download it to the labs’ computers

WTF?

I watched Angels and Demons meself last night. I gots a whole lotta lust for Ayelet Zurer (the heroine/sidekick) this morning.

I’m a wuss heathen, having skipped Sunday services at St. Bluegills cuz it was only 40F. I did it last weekend at that temperature, and got quite cold.

Swampy, the next time you get a hankerin’ to cook bacon in the buff, remember this bit of advice.

Deck pics - there are 3. We have yet to replace the porch light, altho we’ve bought one. We also have to get the stair railing installed, as well as general clean up, but the deck is done and useable. I want to get 2 humongo planters to stick in the corners so I can plant 'maters in them. We also need some comfy chairs and a table. I’ll be waiting for end-of-season sales for that.

Note also the beeyouteeful new siding and windows and door and roof! Gutters are scheduled for tomorrow, but I think the rain my prevent that. Maybe Wednesday??

Very nice, FCM!

We had a great time, as per usual, with our friends last night. Hubby made chicken cordon bleu with honey nutmeg sauce, and I made baby potatoes that I parboiled and then finished in a saute pan. I took fresh rosemary, thyme and garlic and let that sit in virgin olive oil for quite a bit, I used that in the pan with potatoes, and added garlic herb butter that comes from Ireland. I seasoned the potatoes some more with fresh cracked pepper and sea salt whilst sauteeing them. Any way, they turned out pretty well. I think they would have been better roasted in the oven, but hubby was using a humongo pan for his chicken cordon bleu and I wouldn’t have been able to fit another pan in for the potatoes.

I also made a tossed salad with various veggies, honeyed almonds and feta cheese.

At any rate, our friends pronounced the meal delicious.

I’m tired today though.

Hubby thatched the lawn yesterday. It’s a good thing he did it yesterday, because it’s raining today.

I don’t think I have anything on todays agenda. At least, I hope not. I’d like to just chill.

Very cool deck (and siding and all, for that matter), FCM. Are you sure you don’t want to come over to assist me with a few projects?

PM’d you the link to the screenshot, Nava. Interesting software, it looks like. Might have to play with it.

Have returned from deheathenization, made myself a bowl of lentil soup (I add stuff to Progresso canned; this time it was smoked sausage, banana and pineapple - don’t ask me; it’s a Caribbean thing, apparently - YUMM). Am considering what else to ingest in the hope of fighting this cold/out-of-control allergy thing. It might be time to break out the hot limeade. Maybe with a shot of rum.

Am also considering getting some laundry done and starting some seeds.

Back after a bit.

**swampy **- you sound like my SIL - he wanted to know where the hot tub was going. The answer is - not on this deck! I do want a nice table and chairs, and maybe one of those big ol’ square umbrellas?

Sure, GT, I’ll be glad to come help you out. Just give me a minute to find my 30-y/o body… you know, the one that doesn’t ache like death the next morning. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dogs are at the groomers - I expect a call to fetch them in about 2 hours. Daughter and I got our shopping done. I’ve got a load of clothes in the washer - 2 more to follow. Other than that, I don’t intend to do much today.

I did look at some big planters. I want to look in a couple other stores before buying. I know how big I want, but I’m not sure what style or color. No rush - it’s still a bit too cool to put 'maters out.

It’s clouding over - lots of rain promised tonight. I wish they’d gotten to our gutters already. Oh well…

I made my sour cream, hash brown, cheesy casserole and am now eating it.

I just realized something–I tend to either make dashes or put in commas when I pause to take a bite, drink something or need to gather my thoughts. This explains my wildly whimsical comma usage throughout the internet. I was taught betternthat, but I cannot seem to help myself. Please consider this a personal affliction and make allowances. Thank you.
#2 son and I are going to the Aquarium on Tuesday! I am excited. We couldn’t get in last time because the line was so freaking long. We plan this time to leave early, plus I don’t think Chicago schools are on spring break this week (I know the Catholic schools aren’t).

It is cold here today. It rained in the night, and everything is greening over. The magnolia tree is budding as are the daffodils. It’s coming!

Nice looking deck FCM! I bet it is worth the aches when you can sit out there and enjoy the spring/summer!

Dinner is in the oven. Today’s menu is my healthy Eggplant Parmesan. Baked not fried, low fat cheese and my home made roasted tomato with balsamic vinegar sauce. Yummy!

It will be served with green salad and I need it to hurry up as I am hungry!

Enjoy your Sundays everyone.

Home, deheathenated and fed. Now Ima go do yahd work. I need to mow and stuff. It’s nice out so I shall today and be a slug tomorrow.

Hi Ho Hi Ho it’s off to mow I go!

It all looks good, FCM! Sending soothing thoughts, though, for your sore muscles, etc. The Centurion role went okay for you today, Swampy, I take it? Yay! And that eggplant parm sounds good even if it is healthy, Mmmmms!

I’ve really been relaxing and recreating this weekend … must have needed it, I think, because I’m feeling some better now. I’ve also been taking some Corricidin HBP for cough and cold and that has definitely been making me feel better. I even made pancakes for brekkie this morning!

I swear that there is something strange going on at my local post office. I tried to make a long distance call to my Dad on my landline yesterday and it was “temporarily disconnected.” What?! My LD bill has been with my local phone bill for -years- plus I don’t make many LD calls at all any more, since we mostly communicate via the internet. It said to call customer service, which then I had to find the number … finally we found a bill from the LD company that said it was -overdue- (but only by about $13 …), with a customer service number on it, and I called. Turns out that the LD carrier got a bill returned or something, saying that I no longer lived here. This is not the first time that has happened! To somewhat make a long story short, they had disconnected the LD but re-connected it, but we never did find out why apparently the post office said I didn’t live here any more. It’s all very strange.

Enjoy your Sunday all!

chis! AAAAAH…CHOOO!

OK, why am I alergizing like crazy if we don’t even have decent weather, eh, eh, eh?

(Is too a word!)

Perhaps there are allergens coming through my PMs/emails? I think it’s still mold that’s making me sneezy/itchy/etc. because weather.com insists there’s no pollen out there.

Off to Staples for a few minutes, then back to plant some seeds, I think…

GT

I’m about to toss the last load in the washer, then head out to get my doggies. **FCD **is napping, daughter is crashed in front of the TV, SIL has gone to work. I’m the only one doing anything!! Buncha slugs!

Hope I get the doggies home before the rain starts - it’s looking ominous out there…

howdy! The tailgate with the Thrashers fans was fun, except the Jell-O shots were gone by the time I got off of work. The game sucked(Canes lost 4-0), but we went across the street to the bar and partied till last call, the went to the hotel across the street to sleep it off. Now I’m cleaning the bathroom, and doing laundry.

Nice deck, FCM.

Should do some other stuff, but instead, I’m going to knit and watch a movie online.

Then maybe I’ll do some laundry and plant something…

Back later…

So a funny thing happened on the way to our second flea market this morning as we were driving over a couple of bumps my car made the usual noises that bother me and I was kinda worried about what was making the noise. Then, as we pulled into and parked at the flea market my key wouldn’t come out of the ignition! :dubious:

No, these are not related, but I just thought that it was sort of ironic that I was actively worrying about one problem happening to my car when another one showed up. So, right now my car is dropped off at our local neighborhood mechanic so that he can replace the ignition switch. While it’s there, he’s going to also take a look at the suspension to see what’s going on there and whether I can wait until my money tree blooms. Cross your fingers that we’re just looking at the switch for now and not too much more.

The best part was that once some kind soul got the car started again for me that I didn’t want to turn it off again until I got to the tech’s house and I happened to be about 20-25 minutes away from TVMan’s house and then another hour away from my house. My dad was joking that TVMan was going to have to jump from the moving car as I pulled up to his house.

Now it’s just about time for some more forking I think.

I just had a brilliant thought re MOOOOOOM"S hot tub! It could go under the deck. That would be a great spot for a hot tub.

Yahd is all spiffed. I have had a shower and a nappy poo. Also, I have made a seven layer sallit for dindin tomorrow. I shall throw a roast in the slow cooker tomorrow mornin’ and let it do its thing all day. The rest of the day I intend to devote to sluggery.

Do we have anybody up for tomorrow? I could start us off if needed. Not that I have any great wisdom to share, like it would matter anyway.

Taxi I done good as a Centurion. I turned to the Crucifix mounted behind the Altar and said, “Surely this man was innocent” like a true pro!

I think my sinus headache has turned into a cold. Or allergies–I’m not sure. I’m just using the Kleenex I bought a great deal and my throat is a tad scratchy. And my stomach is giving me fits (ok, that’s neither cold or allergy but most likely too many gummi bears).
I have cleaned a bathroom, sorted #2 son’s clothes (a LOT doesn’t fit him anymore), and done laundry. And put 2 of the garden chairs out. Dinner (baked fried chicken) is in the oven.

The SUN came out! It was lovely to see it again. It never calls, it never writes…

swampy, hut tub under the deck wouldn’t work too well - that’s where the door to the kids’ apartment is…

Finally done my chores and stuff. Laundry is done, dogs are back home, we had a quick supper at Bert’s, I made my lunches for the week, and in a little bit, we’ll be having some red velvet cake that I picked up on sale. Too bad this is all ruined by having to go back to work tomorrow. :frowning:

I can haz 'nudder weekend??
