A very interesting MMP

I killded the MMP!

Da cave is clean. So is da bear. Now it’s nappy poo time!

OK, OK - its Monday and I’m in a rather strange state of mind ------- but what exactly is presentable dress for imitating a decapitated fowl? I’m betting it involves Tudor collars.

On the serious side; here’s hopes things settle down to a more average form soon.

Naaaah - ya mentioned clean twice and all the rest of us have grabbed dust rags in shame, We’ll be back shortly to what passes for normal for us (on a case by case basis).

Hey all. Look, I am posting three days in a row, go me!

I just got off of the phone with the future ex, discussing divorce stuff, and while it seems that he is finally accepting that the marriage is over I am not gonna be able to relax until the magistrate says “You are no longer married”. My tummy is in a constant uproar over this, it has been truly War of the Roses-esque.

The kids are back in school today, last week was Spring Break and, as usual, the weather was fine until Thursday before Break, then it was snow snow snow, now the snow has melted just in time for school to begin again! Right now there is a lone sunbeam breaking through the heavy overcast, and I am reminded that there is life after Kodiak Island.

So, I suppose I ought to work on my writing, this story isn’t going to write itself. I want to tell you guys a little about it and my collaborator, if you are interested. I am having a fun time with this project, and wouldn’t it be a happy little twist of fate if it actually made some $$$ for me! Hey! Last time I checked fantasies were still free!

Oh, and bear? Since you seem to be full of energy, how about you come and clean my cave for me? Please? No? Okay. :stuck_out_tongue:

Later CK’s!

I’m not dusting. I don’t even under the best of times.

No baby yet. This is my due date, and all babies definitely come on their due dates, right?

We’re making goulash, my midwife came by this morning and I’m still instructed to stay nailed to the couch, and I’m reading and staring out the window. And being online.

Happy Belated Birthday, snowbunny!

Hope you enjoyed your long weekend.

Good to hear from you, kai. Thanks for the update. You know we’d love to hear about what you’re writing!

LiLi, I was thinking of you yesterday when I talked to a college friend whose wife is due in ~3 weeks. The baby is transverse (?) and showing no signs of turning over to be ready to be born. What’s up with these babies wanting to stay put? Come out and join the fun, babies!

I made edamame hummus on Saturday. It was Teh YUM. Somebody here (Muppet?) had linked to something else on Life’s Ambrosia a couple weeks ago, and I got poking around her site and found that recipe. I definitely recommend trying it.

I also made posole on Sunday. That stuff’ll cure what ails ya.

I convinced KT to make gumbo again, even though we’d just had it two weeks ago. And by “convinced” I mean I said, “What would you think of having gumbo again?” To which he said, “Hmm… good idea.” We like our gumbo.

It was also really nice out here over the weekend so I spent a lot of time on the patio, soaking up the sun and reading a book. “Soaking up the sun” in Minnesota being defined as wearing workout pants and a black fleece jacket (black to aid in soaking in more warmth from the sun), not the bikini-wearing sun soaking that one would find in warmer climates. But it felt soooooooooooo good.

It’s…snowing. Or raining. Or possibly both at once. sigh

I’m told that the next house may already be claimed by somebody else, but I won’t know until Wednesday, when the property manager will be back in the office. But even if I don’t get it, I’m still going to go up into the loft – TODAY – and sort shit. And when I am done with that, I will sort out the stuff in the two bathroom closets, a lot of which can be moved to the loft once I have that done. At least I have storage space, even if I need a hand getting stuff up there.

But first I need to eat. I just realized that I’m hungry.

And my kitty condo thing is AWESOME. I just got it put together. If the cat would just wake up and check it out – I tried calling her over to it but she looked at me like, “I am TRYING to SLEEP, you stupid human.” She should be able to get up into the loft with it if she wants, from it to the top of the bookcase or something. That should be good for her.

Ummm… thanks for all the invites to come clean folks, but I used up all my cleanin’ energy already today. :stuck_out_tongue:

Unstick already TNC2.0! It’s time to join the world.

Dindin is smellin’ good! Pot roast with N.O.T., carrots and some onion. I think I’ll steam some asparagus also just because, I dunno, it’s a green veggie, and we need one.

Howdy kai! Of course we want to hear about your story. We’re all [del]nosy[/del] inquiring like that.

Hmmm… I don’t know, kopek, because I still never got a return email. But that doesn’t mean my afternoon wasn’t exciting.

There was more family weirdness which I can’t really mention. But then there was the health insurance/doctor excitement. My CRAPPY health insurance has turned me down for several things due to pre-existing conditions which were clearly NOT pre-existing. And, since one of the dr visits is from October 2009, the doctor’s office is getting cranky about their money. I can understand that and I also realize that I owe them some money, but the voicemails and phone conversations that we had today were incredibly unhelpful. For instance the girl’s vm message said: We show that you haven’t made a payment since 2007! Um, yeah, that would be because I left the practice due to a change in my insurance until October 2009. So, OF COURSE I haven’t made a payment since then. I was very angry but explained the above to her and she laughed at me. I said that I didn’t think it was funny and she just blamed it on the office manager and laughed again. So I said ok but that’s not really helpful and hung up the phone. Maybe I’m missing something here, but I really didn’t find it amusing.

Well, enough rambling, I guess I should go back home because now I’m waiting for TWO emails. :smack:

Home! Eventually…France is on strike again. :frowning:

Yum! I musta really wanted pot roast cause it was like the best thing I’ve ever et! Then again, pot roast is one of those things that’s always good.

MMMMMM’s just parts or all of France? I have this image of millions of French people walkin’ around with picket signs.

My flat screen monitor died, so I had to hook up an old CRT - costing me half of my desk space!!

It poured early today, so all the siding crew got done was to unload all their crap around our yard. With luck, they’ll get the siding up tomorrow - unless it rains again??

A former neighbor died yesterday morning. They used to live 2 doors from us when we were kids, and they and my folks have been friends forever. He’d been in failing health for some time and everyone knew it was coming. It’s sad that he’s gone, but then so is his pain. He was a very nice man - I don’t ever recall seeing him angry. At least he lived long enough to see his great granddaughter…

That’s all I’ve got. I need chocolate. Happy Monday! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I just tended to another medical emergency at old neighbor Fred’s house. He needed his toenails cut since his podiatrist has died.

“Yeah, sure Fred, I’ll be happy to cut them for you, but I’m not a manicurist. Don’t expect me to buff and polish them, too.”

BBBobbio you win the good neighbor award for all time for cuttin’ Fred’s toenails. Ick!

Ima go lie upon the bed and watch teevee for a while. It’s back to irk for me tomorrow. Le Sigh.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Irk tomorrow, whatever happens with the house, but I now have several bags of stuff to go to the thrift store and several bags to go to the trash. And there’ll be more for the store, I suspect, when I get to the bathroom cupboards.

The last thing I dare let stuff do is get ahead of me, this place is too little for that. And I have pack-rat tendencies as it is. When I get in the right mood, though, I can clear away junk like craaaazy.

Sapphire still has paid no attention to her new piece of furniture. I went so far as to pick her up and put her on it, but she jumped down and demanded dinner instead. Cats. sigh

Irk (I like that swampy!) went OK. I called the girl ,got her voice mail. I suppose I’m a bit nervous. I wish this was a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon, I could just throw rocks at her to show I liked her.

There are many books inside of Gordie.
Hang in there, kai!

Survived another crazy Monday. You know it’s bad when your supervisor, who just arrrived in October 09, is talking about dropping retirement papers in October 10. Today was just awful for her. It wasn’t much better for the rest of us.

I hope you get the bigger place, snowbunny.

kai, I’d be most interested see what you’re writing.

Bobbio, you’re an incredibly nice man. I don’t know anyone who would go and cut their neighbor’s toenails.

I guess I’ve got nothing exciting to report, so love, hugs, chocolate and beer (take as wanted/required) to all.

Nice I may be, but I’m still in a snit of 3 days and running.

Yeah, I saw that Bobbio. I don’t know what to say. I hope things don’t turn out as badly as you anticipate. Hang in there; it’s all any of us can do.

Well, Mr. 3-day-snit, the rest of us know you’re an awfully nice neighbor. So, there!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry about all the work stress, Taters. Sounds rather familiar.

Hi, kai!!! I wanna read it too.

Nothing like getting trip-planning help from your Tel Aviv travel agent, is there, Haze?

I see I’m too late to ask swampy to come clean my house…

I was very domestic this evening; made sesame noodles (similar to taxi’s Asian noodles, but 1/2 tahini and 1/2 peanut butter) and then started the second loaf of Italian bread.

Watched this TED talk, which I’m still trying to wrap my head around. Interesting. Maybe even, to a certain extent, a way to bridge gaps across believers and non-believers of all kinds. Unfortunately, some of his examples seemed a bit melodramatic and/or stereotypical. Prolly need to go back and watch it again.

Sleepy. Know I forgot stuff I was going to say. Off to bed.

Hugs.

Just went over to look at LiLi’s blog. One of the husbands posted for her… Her blood pressure spiked this afternoon. She and Mr. Lissar have gone to the hospital and they’re going to go ahead with the C-section.
