Accounting For Discontinued Operations - what's your interpretation of FAS #144?

How distressing. Not only did everyone neglect to mention me, but I only opened this tricksome thread because I thought it was about accounting! :frowning:

Are you there, Eutychus?

What about Ferrous, kambuckta, ultrafilter, plnnr (I saw your name misspelled earlier in the thead), Primaflora and leechbabe?

And I found it again.

Damn you all!

All right, you caught me. Yes, I did a vanity search. But in my defense, I haven’t been around, since the end of last week, so I wanted to catch up on the things I’d missed.

Let’s see who else we can drag in here…

Rue deDay, Welby, Exgineer, FairyChatMom, Swampbear, Kallessa, Tanookie, I choose you!

Woo hoo! My monthly vanity search actually turned up something! Thanks, Mullinator for the mention. Since our fateful thread together, we’re clearly linked now. I wonder if Casey505 or Gorgon Heap have been by yet. (I confess I didn’t read the whole thread before posting.)

Yeah, yeah, I vanity search every once in awhile. And I’m a little behind, too, it seems. So yeah. Um. The only name that pops into my head that I don’t think’s been mentioned (although i could be wrong) is fizzestothetop.

Sob…two pages and no one’s mentioned little ole me? I’m hurt, really I am.

OK, so I’m not that hurt, but I am kinda upset. Someone notice me!

Got that out of my system.

brianjedi - consider yourself noticed; you are now required to quote FAS #144 in its entirety.

I’m an accounting nerd and proud of it! Hell, I think FAS 144 is VERY interesting.

:o Vanity search.

Let’s see. Balance and Grace probably don’t do many vanity searches because their name crops up a lot. Lord Jim has already been mentioned. I bet Chef Troy does them occasionally, but probably not rjk

I wonder what Dave Woo! searches for?

Got me! So where are Steve Wright, Fenris, London Calling, and White Lightning? And shouldn’t Tax Guy be here just because of the title?

And this would be your first post? Way to go there!

So, would you accrue all future expenditures? As to the restatement, how many years back do we have to go?

Yes, although I am pleased to say I am far from angst. I am quite busy working on achieving financial independence. Overall, though, I’m a much less stressed person. I’m doing much better. I’ve been camping for relaxation the last couple of nights and paddling in a canoe each morning to work. My other time has been devoted to preparing for college and working on getting financially balanced (I have come miles on achieving this goal, thankfully).

I’m fine. A little busy, but fine. I’ll stop in sometime when I’m not busy and pop up.

Peace

Heh, a bit tired. I mean “and” instead of “although”.

I should preview these things from time to time.

We have a delightful new doper named Idle Thoughts, who is behaving in a most exemplary newbie manner (i.e., flattering and sucking up rather than whining and criticizing). Let’s see if he’ll show up here.

Hello also to baker from her Secret Santa.

I looked up FAS #144. Anyone hear from Atomic Badger Racing?

I found it in a vanity search. I’m a vain bitch.

I’m calling out [ul]UncleBeer
Scotticher
GingerOfTheNorth
Jadis
Eva Luna
Kyla
Fretful Porpentine (cause she sometimes gets called porcupine)
thinksnow (where’s that OhDope thread, huh?)
[/ul]

I see thinksnow already checked in. But how about that OhDope thread anyway, huh?

Aww, hell! First vanity search and I’m busted!
::mumbles “Gee, thanks, Davebear”::

Seem to be missing a Legend-in-Training?
Wyatt

You LOOKED IT UP? You are a brave soul. So, how many paragraphs into it did you fall asleep?

lainaf, you chose a couple of other Dopers I would also like to hear from - baker and Idle Thoughts. I have no clue how to do “vanity searches” so can someone clue me in?

This is my second post.

My first post covered sexual fantasies with my wife.

I am a CFO and have absolute control over my companies finances. Just checking on work related stuff in between the sex stuff, so I can feel less guilty.

What is a vanity search?
